We were made so welcome by all the staff at this wonderful resort when our stay on another island was sadly disrupted due to a total power failure of the resorts generating plant. Arriving by speed boat at 10:00 pm to be so warmly welcomed by staff who had not expected an influx of evacuees at that time of night and being able to so generously find us accommodation and offer us all the opportunities available to enjoy in the resort, was beyond generousity. For this kindness at a very busy time of the year a week before Christmas we have nothing but gratitude and admiration. Our villa by the beach was wonderfully comfortable and large with a private pool just outside of the bedroom and the beach just five metres beyond. Such a beautiful location with a true tropical ambience to enjoy. Every member of staff from the team in the Lobby who, with their supervisor, Roy were so professional. To the marvelous team at cafe del Sol, to Ritika and her lovely smile and welcome at the Dining room, the fabulous Afzal, Kamal and Mi Mi at the Falhumaa French themed restaurant and finally the wonderful staff at li Bai restaurant. Thank you! All of you! To those whose names we did not get, you were all wonderful too. The availability of bicycles to explore the island available at all the villas, made the visit feel so carefree and isolated from the worries of the world. A truly peaceful place to be and one we feel so fortunate to have been able to enjoy during our stay. For all the staff for whom we did not get to know properly in the short time we were at the Residence, please understand that your kindness and care was so much appreciated!

We had some confusion with the complimentary spa. It was not handled well. Seems to have internal communication issue. Service recovery was prompt and kudos to them. Pros: Well appointed rooms. Clean and of good size. Relative good value, includes dolphin cruise, speciality restaurants and massage. Also got free upgrade and spa. And also flights there all thrown in a package. Cons: Troublesome to get to. Need take domestic flight which is unpredictable. Flushing system not the best. Food in main dining average at best. Service also not the best. I think they are trying to no hard but the resort is massive and not the exclusive kind. Getting around the resort itself is also a challenge if you don’t cycle. They have buggies on call but more than once waited 30 mins and up. Tip 1: Book the cruise and speciality restaurants early. Tip 2: Although stated each speciality restaurant only once per stay, more often then not, you will be able to book again, if you take the less popular time slots eg. 9.30p Tip 3: More suitable for those seeking multiple activities and location to explore. Tip 4: Do not plan your international flight departure too close to estimated domestic arrival. At least 4 hours from stated arrival time. In summary, if not for the spa incident and (maybe) unrealistic expectation, it definitely deserves a higher rating from me. I would like to return but it’s a big but…

We spent one week at The Residence, Dhigurah, and overall it was a truly beautiful and relaxing experience. The staff were outstanding - warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, special thanks to Mr. Hafiz. They were always happy to help and even arranged special meals to accommodate our dietary restrictions, which we really appreciated. Service throughout the resort, especially from the restaurant team, was consistently excellent. The property itself is stunning, spread across two islands connected by a scenic bridge. The bridge is one of the most beautiful spots on the resort, offering ocean views on both sides. The resort blends nature extremely well, creating a jungle-like atmosphere while still feeling luxurious. The villas are modern, spacious, and beautifully designed. Wi-Fi only available in rooms and common areas with very weak connectivity. No continuous Wi-Fi coverage throughout the resort, which may be inconvenient. We stayed in a sunset-facing Beach Villa with a private pool, and we highly recommend either sunset-facing villas or water villas. The sunset views are breathtaking, and having a private pool truly enhances the experience. Another great touch is that each villa is provided with bicycles, making it easy and enjoyable to explore the resort. We chose the all-inclusive plan. While it can be good value for guests who make full use of it, it wasn’t ideal for us as the food prices are fairly reasonable (approximately USD 50–60 per person). However, some restaurants limit the all-inclusive option to two courses per meal, which felt restrictive. Additionally, many of the drinks were made with very sweet syrups, which took away from the overall quality and enjoyment. One important thing to note is how remote the resort is. Transfers require a domestic flight from Malé to Kooddoo, followed by a short boat ride. The flight scheduling is fully managed by the resort, and unfortunately, our experience was frustrating. Despite requesting a later flight, we were assigned a very early one, and we had to wait approximately six hours in the lounge. This part of the experience could definitely be improved. The overall environment is calm and peaceful - perfect for anyone looking to truly unwind. The food was very good overall, with plenty of vegetarian options. There are various water activities and excursions available, and during our stay we frequently spotted blacktip reef sharks; some guests even saw dolphins and turtles. Overall, The Residence, Dhigurah offers exceptional service, beautiful villas, and an incredible natural setting. Despite some logistical frustrations, it remains a wonderful choice for a peaceful Maldives getaway.

Rooms are up to standard as per water villa description. Location is not good as need to take 1 hour internal flight from Male international airport. Our SQ flight touched down Male and we had to wait in the lounge for 4 hrs then got internal flight to The Residence. Still need to take a 10 min speed boat ride. Wasted a lot of time transferring. The Management need to work on minimal time wastage for guests. Re-look at the schedule connecting major international flights to the 1 and only domestic flight to Koondool Just book those water villas with sea plane connecting direct from Male will be better choice to save time and effort. The service at Digurah is poor. From the buggy booking service to the front lobby reception arranging our full board dining timings and to the booking of jet ski, spa and snorkeling scheduling. All messed up , either overbooked and we didn't get to dine at our preferred timing and schedule or our activities are missed out. Once u land and feel tired after a long travelling and transfers the lobby flood u with tons of form filling disclaimer to remove The Residence of all liability. I dont feel the service coming from a 5 star hotel. Price is not of value either. See pics: buggy stuck here and called many other buggies to help send us into our water villa but all didn't help to send us in and say they are busy elsewhere.
