If this review is helpful, please make sure you leave it a like. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 Okay, guys. There are a couple of things that need to be said about the Manhattan in Times Square New York. Let us start with the good stuff and move to the bad stuff. The best thing about this hotel is absolutely the location. It is very easy to get to a lot of things from this hotel walkable, as well as jumping on the subway. The staff was incredibly hospitable and friendly for the most part. The hotel staff cleaned very well. Now, let's talk about the bad stuff. The hotel has seen better days. It obviously is in need of remodeling, which they seem to be starting because the lobby itself is blocked off for remodeling. But it would seem like you would remodel the rooms first because they really need a lot of help. There were very few outlets to use, and one of the few outlets that was in my room was actually unusable because it was broken. The room that I received was quite small but I didn't mind that as much as the inconvenience of the outlets and the old furniture. The bed was probably the only good thing about the furniture because it did sleep well. Also, I forgot to mention that there was good, hot water pressure. There was actually a cigarette hole burnt into my curtains, which definitely were not blackout.Curtains, something you need in Times Square. When I checked into the room, I went to go iron some clothes and the iron was missing. I called downstairs, and they questioned if the iron was still there, I told them no, and I wanted an iron. They brought it up to me. One of the light bulbs was blown out, so I had to call downstairs to have them fix that, too. When I call downstairs to get a duvet, it literally took them two hours to bring it up. All in all, with this experience, unless it is absolutely necessary. I will probably try to choose something that is closer to this hotel and not stay at this hotel.

Do not book this hotel until all renovations are completed. The photos online are of the newly renovated rooms. Our room was old and dirty. False advertising at its finest. This was the worst hotel room I’ve ever been in. The only positive is the location. Problems are listed below. 1. The room was filthy and we could tell as soon as we walked in. 2. The carpet had stains on them. 3. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Pictures are attached. 4. They only gave us ONE set of towels and there were three of us. We had to constantly go to the lobby and ask for more towels because the phone in our room either didn’t work or the front desk/housekeeping did not answer. 5. We were offered a new room and it never happened. 6. We were told we would not be charged the deposit fee since the condition of the room was so bad and we never got a new room. Well, today I’ve been charged the deposit fee and no one is answering the phone yet again. 7. Other guests also had a similar experience or worse. One guest said he got moved into a new room and the AC wasn’t working at all. He had health issues and really couldn’t afford to be uncomfortable like that. He said he complained multiple times with no resolve.

We had a very long stay here and were in one of the remodeled rooms. My only complaint was the AC! The first few days it was miserable due to the heat wave + humidity. The AC just didn’t cool the room at all and made it uncomfortable at night. However, I have to get a shout out to Michelle in housekeeping. She was phenomenal and made our entire trip. Always checked on us if we were in the hallway, made sure to engage with my daughter about her dance competition and was just a joy. Also, shout out to the staff in the front with the bell desk. When the elevators were overwhelmed with check outs, they took a few of us to the service elevator just to keep everyone moving. It was appreciated! I am interested to see what the hotel looks like when all of the construction is done. Would stay again but would request a fan or two if it is in the summer and would only stay on the remodeled floors.

Review for The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel We stayed here for two nights on our first visit to New York City. The best part of the hotel is its location — right in the heart of Times Square, which made it easy to explore the city on foot without needing our car. That convenience was a big plus. However, our experience with the hotel itself was disappointing. Most of the staff, including the front desk, bellhop, and waitstaff, came across as quite rude, even after we offered tips as a kind gesture. Only one lady during our stay was kind and helpful, which stood out. Our initial room was very small — barely enough space to open our suitcases on the floor. It had an old, noisy AC and a tiny bathroom, which didn’t match what we expected, especially for the price we paid (around $700). After raising our concerns and paying extra, we were finally moved to a better room that was more spacious, quieter, and comfortable. One incident that really stood out was when we returned to the hotel to use the restroom and were denied access to our own room because it was being cleaned. We were asked to wait and couldn’t use the restroom in the meantime, which felt unreasonable. We ended up having to go to a nearby McDonald’s instead. Overall, while the hotel’s location is unbeatable, the service and room quality left a lot to be desired for the cost. We enjoyed the city itself, but I wish our hotel experience had matched the energy and hospitality we felt outside.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in New York. It’s simply not worth the stress. I paid $1,500 for a room with breakfast included, but the breakfast was extremely basic — you could choose between juice or coffee, a croissant or the buffet, and one piece of fruit (either an apple or an orange). On the first day, my room was located in an area under construction. The hallway smelled like tar, and workers were actively working right outside. The room itself looked like a $25 motel — both the bedroom and the bathroom were filthy. From the moment you walk in, you feel uncomfortable and unclean. The bed linens were stained, and the towels looked like old rags. I asked to switch rooms and had to pay an additional $300, but the air conditioning didn’t work. I switched rooms again and encountered the same issue — no working AC. The building is old, and the gym is practically useless, as most of the equipment is broken. At the front desk, there was a bald white man whose name I don’t recall, but he didn’t lift a finger to help with the room issues. The total I paid ended up being over $2,000 — $1,500 for the reservation, $300 for the room change, and an additional $300 charged at check-in. Even worse, after I checked out, I found an extra $545 charge on my credit card from the hotel. For that amount of money, there are much better hotels in New York. I would not recommend this place and will never stay there again.
