We stayed for a week and absolutely loved it! The resort is in a great location with easy walking access to nearby restaurants or shops, if you want an alternative to the in-resort dining. It is also in a slightly quieter area of Lamai, which is what we wanted. Our airport transfers were seamless, the room was very clean, and the room access to the pool was fantastic. Highly suggest booking the pool access suite. The staff were very helpful and friendly - felt sad to leave them. Thank you Tam, May, Khoon, Man, Sea, etc (inclusive of every encounter we had at the resort) for being so warm and welcoming! I highly recommend this resort to unwind and enjoy the beautiful Koh Samui. We cant wait to come back!

We checked out after one night instead of staying for the longer visit we had planned. We were really looking forward to a relaxing stay at The Lamai, but ongoing construction next to the pool made that impossible. Before booking a couple of weeks ago, we noticed reviews mentioning construction and contacted the hotel in advance to ask about potential noise. We were reassured that it would not affect our stay. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. On our first morning, we went to the pool for a swim and found that all the sunbeds were already claimed, even though no guests were using them. While the hotel has a sign about reserving beds, it was not enforced. In addition, the noise from the nearby construction was constant and disruptive, which made it difficult to relax — not what you expect when planning a quiet beach holiday. We spoke with the front desk, and the staff were genuinely kind, helpful, and understanding. They tried to find a solution, but the options offered were not suitable for us, so we decided to check out. The Lamai is a beautiful hotel with very hospitable staff. However, guests should be clearly informed about the ongoing construction and the significant noise levels so they can make an informed decision before booking.

We had an outstanding and wonderful vacation at the Lamai Samui, celebrating our silver (25 years) wedding anniversary. The oceanfront pool villa was without doubt the most amazing hotel "room" we have been able to stay in during all the years of our travels worldwide, so far. We stayed for 9 nights in May 2026. Having the villa was like having a part of paradise to ourselves. It offers a perfect mix of comfort and tropical luxury. Waking up, stepping straight out of bed into our private pool was one of the absolute highlights. The staff was super friendly and helpful at all times. A particular praise goes to Kae from Housekeeping. She did an amazing job each day cleaning up the villa and we loved her outgoing joy and friendliness. Any requests and queries were promptly answered by the staff through the reliable WhatsApp communication. As an additional treat to ourselves we booked a three-hour in-villa spa treatment, which has its price but can be highly recommended. A small complaint is that we had well in advance booked the dinner on the pier, which is heavily promoted on the resort's website, for our anniversary dinner. The pier was not open during any time during our stay, and we were only advised on short notice that the dinner as planned was not possible. We got the feeling that this was not due to the weather, but had to do with possible lack of staff or similar. Here we would have wished for a much earlier, pro-active advice from the resort that the dinner might not happen as booked. To the resort's credit, they hosted our dinner with all bells and whistles in the restaurant, instead. We found the breakfast buffet a bit too frugal for a hotel of this (price) class. Overall - absolutely amazing, an unforgettable experience!! We'll love to come again in the future.

Location is good in a more quiet part of Koh Samui but still accessible by taxi to shopping and restaurants. Right on beach (No waves). Clean rooms. Good service. Hotel could do with a bit of a refurbishment. Beautiful grounds. We had a plunge pool room and would recommend.

Our recent stay was amazing. The staff are attentive and beautiful people. They can’t do enough for you. All expectations were met and more. Particular thanks to our room assistant, our room was always lovely made up and the turn down service and bug service such a nice treat. The kitchen staff got to know our requirements and were always attentive and welcoming. The breakfast was great, the plate set menus from Luxury Escapes were well thought out and delicious. We did try the BBQ one night which was very nice except the cut and cooking of the steak is well below par- I believe a porterhouse for a BBQ would be a minimum cut to not look “Cheap”, the fish for the BBQ was superb and well made up for the steak. Cocktail hour was great and a real treat. Easy communication with front of house staff for travel etc. The girls who attended our massage did an amazing job. The gardeners are doing a great job and the grounds look wonderful. . It shows the place I imagine is being refurbished slowly but remains a very stylish resort, our pavilion pool room was out of this world and was a real luxury for us. We thank all staff we came across for making our holiday a memorable luxury stay. Thanks so much for an amazing holiday 🙏
