It has one of the most beautiful hotel entrances, with the sea visible as soon as the huge Fortress doors are opened. Friendly and welcoming staff, with valet parking, and smooth check in. The rooms were huge and staff came and explained the room in detail for each room. The pool is huge and is amazing. The kids loved the gradient floor of the pool, the gardens and the swings placed at different locations were very thoughtful for that overall relaxing experience. The sauna, steam room, spa were all very good. The gym was well equipped too. The food was quite good with a good variation. An area to work on would be to not have long intervals when serving the a la cart menu, as we had to sometimes wait more than 20 minutes for the food to come. When we mentioned this to them they made sure that it didn't happen on the second day, which was a great improvement. All in all, it was a great experience.

The Fortress is a simply magnificent Resort. This beach front Resort has all the facilities you can ever want for a relaxing and truly enjoyable experience. (pools, spa, gym, great restaurants and Bar, delicious and an array of foods just to name a few.) The staff are amazing, very hospitable and always welcoming and friendly. We travelled from Australia and stayed two nights in the Ocean room which was very spacious and clean with all the facilities you need. We had our Wedding Ceremony at the Fortress and there is simply no words to describe the wonderful experience we had. Every aspect of our wedding ceremony was professionally and meticulously arranged by the staff at the Fortress. From organising the necessary marriage documents to the floral arrangements, wedding bouquets and bower, decorations, cake, celebrant, music, photography, special celebratory dinner, and the list goes on., we couldn’t have been happier with all of these things and the very best service we received at the Fortress. A special mention to our wedding coordinator ‘GAYANI’ who went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding ceremony was successful and memorable. Her attention to detail and dedication to make sure we were happy with all the arrangements is something we will always remember and be grateful for. From the time we arrived until we checked out the service was exceptional. All the staff never fail to smile and greet us. The food was delicious & the atmosphere was refreshing.

We stayed at The Fortress Resort and Spa for a girls’ getaway and had an amazing experience. Our spacious room comfortably accommodated the three of us, and the breathtaking ocean view made for countless hours of relaxation, listening to the waves. The staff was exceptionally helpful and always greeted us with a smile, making us feel truly welcome. The highlight of our stay was the food—delicious, high-quality, and with an extensive menu, plus 24-hour room service! One small suggestion would be to add doorbells to the rooms for added convenience. A huge thank you to the team for making our stay so wonderful!

We had a great stay here. Loved it. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. View is amazing. Welcome drink was nice. The guys at the gate, very nice. Food is good, but I suggest eat outside, it's nicer and also priced better. Room was clean, sofa was nice. Slippers provided in the room which is nice. Soap shampoo smells very nice. Pillows had a little smell, the kind not dried well after washing. Shower glass bottom cleanliness could be improved.

We stayed together with a friends family at this pristine location 2N stay from 12th to 14th April. It’s a beautiful setting, alongside with one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka with a plus of having a natural sea bathing spot right at edge of hotel. Hotel was great, kids enjoyed to their fullest. Staff was friendly. however we were not pleased with service. Possibly due to new changes they have adopted with the changes in management. Two specific instances first being a hurtful one. 01. My friend had his birthday falling on the second day of our stay, I have informed that during check in to the girl who assisted us and requested a cake to second day breakfast table. It never came, I was arranging it as a surprise but I got surprised by hotel not making a proper note of it. As we are not celebrating birthdays plus as I did not even informed his family about this I got saved. However it’s the first time such a thing happened to me in any of hotels I visited. 02. Meal service was on Ala-carte I am sure that was as briefed by management. However team was not ready to serve such a volume Ala-carte, ideally if you are promoting fine dining you should take pre orders to avoid delays plus have timing. I saw the restaurant manager was sweating in stress. However he was trying to manage it best while being scolded from guests. I hear they plan to close down for renovation soon, I sincerely hope the service will improve and will not ruin this pristine beauty.
