My experience at The Fives… This was my second time at the hotel. I came back with my children and my in-laws, and honestly, I do not recommend it. During our first stay with my husband, we had an amazing time — there was lots of entertainment and plenty of activities during the day. However, this time it was a nightmare trying to get into any restaurant. The food is very good, but with the waiting time (more than 30 minutes for a table), you no longer enjoy your meal the same way. The only highlight was Oscar, who provided spectacular service. The rooms were clean and in good condition, although my in-laws’ room had humidity issues. We reported it to the front desk, but we were never given a solution. The entertainment was practically nonexistent. Nothing mentioned on the hotel’s website matched what was actually offered (very boring). We paid for a table at the Super Bowl event, which promised lots of fun, but there were only a few musicians and nothing else. The shows during the week were very low quality and poorly organized. Whenever we asked the entertainment staff about activities, they never had clear information. My children looked forward to the activities, but they never started at the promised time. Not to mention the Aluxitos Club program, which was very basic, and the staff in charge were in a bad mood — very disappointing. The beach is beautiful as always, and Sonia was very kind, preparing our lounge chairs every morning — that was definitely a highlight. She recommended that we speak with a manager, and he kindly helped us secure a reservation at the sushi restaurant, but this only happened on our last night. We communicated our concerns multiple times to reception, entertainment staff, and guest services, but no one was able to provide a solution. Overall, it was disappointing, and we definitely will not return for our future vacations. It’s a shame because the facilities are beautiful and very well located in the middle of the jungle.

We stayed at The Fives Beach Hotel & Residences in Playa del Carmen from March 2–7 and had an absolutely amazing time. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming everywhere we went. The accommodations were comfortable and well maintained, and the resort itself is beautiful and easy to enjoy. The food throughout the resort was consistently great, with lots of options and something for everyone in our family. One of the biggest highlights of our stay was the kids camp. Our 6-year-old absolutely loved it. She would check the kids club activity schedule and look forward to deciding when she wanted to hang out with mom and dad and when she wanted to go join the fun at the club. The staff there were fantastic and created such a fun and welcoming environment for the kids. They did some really creative crafts and activities, and our daughter made several great friends during the week. It was honestly one of the most memorable parts of the trip for her. Unfortunately I can’t remember all of the staff members’ names from the kids club, but they truly made a big impression on our family and were a major highlight of our stay. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend The Fives to families visiting Playa del Carmen. We hope to come back again.

When we first arrived, we experienced a few minor issues. However, everything was resolved promptly and professionally. A very special thank you to Ivan and the hotel manager for their quick response and genuine care — they truly made us feel valued as guests. The food at the hotel is absolutely amazing. The breakfast and evening buffet offer an incredible variety — you can truly find anything you’re craving. The quality and selection exceeded our expectations every day. For lunch, we ate at the restaurant by the main pool (I believe it’s called Olive & Sea or something similar), and the food there was outstanding — truly restaurant-level quality. It was one of the highlights of our stay. The staff throughout the resort are attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. Their positive attitude really enhances the whole experience. The kids club staff were absolutely amazing. They were warm, energetic, and incredibly caring. Our children loved it so much that they wanted to stay there all day, every day! As parents, that gave us peace of mind and allowed us to relax knowing they were having such a great time in a safe and fun environment.

Hello! This trip was an amazing and fun experience for my family. We had the best week at at The Fives with large rooms, frequently cleaned, that had lovely balconies overlooking the beautiful resort. Everyone employed at The Fives gave all of their effort every day to make us comfortable and to make sure we had a great time. The food at this resort was some of the best food we have ever had. One of our favorite restaurants was Arezzo, a lovely Itailian restaurant. We came back to Arezzo three times, and each time requested to have Aime as our waitress. She is joy in the form of a person, made us all laugh, and was an amazing waitress. Arezzo was right near the pool overlooking the ocean, a beautiful view that we enjoyed. The pools and beach surrounded by palm trees left this resort with a beautiful and peaceful vibe on the people and resort. We also loved La Brassiere restaurant, The Lizard, and Koh Thai. We saw so many adorable animals such as monkeys, lizards, coati, and lots of birds. The different entertainment every night was a blast and always brought us to the dance floor. We will definitely be coming back sometime. My family and I can't wait!

I had the privilege of serving as the wedding Officiant for Cha'Nise & Wille Chasten , and the entire resort team made sure the event was a massive success. My wife and I had an absolute blast! The service and hospitality were amazing, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive to every need. The venue itself is exquisite—from the stunning ocean views and pristine pools to the bars and the authentic, delicious food, everything was top-tier. A special shout-out to Allein, our Groomsmen Escort. Allein, you were absolutely the best ! Thank you for being such a fantastic host and for the incredible energy you brought to the reception on the roof top venue. Kudos, bravo to the entire team that served our parties! Yall were just fabulous. I also want to thank the team at FineArt Studio Photography! Big shout out to our photographer , he was awesome and did a great job with the groomsmen pictures as we got ready for the ceremony.
