I have stayed at Blue Water many times over the years, dating back to 1999 as I have family that lives close in Moratuwa. I should start by saying I have many fond memories of visiting this hotel from the past. It is unfortunate that I must now report that the hotel has declined significantly in quality from my last stay 5-7 years prior. Calling this hotel a 5 star is a huge stretch. This would more accurately be labeled a 3 star hotel Food - lunch and breakfast buffet with food that is lukewarm and not fresh. I asked for a fresh egg hopper and the person manning the station just pointed to a cold egg hopper that was made god knows when. I ended up just throwing it away. Also, both my and my wife's stomachs stuggled with the food. Likely a indicated of the quality/sanitation practices. Room - Unfortunately terrible. There was a gap between the porch doors in our room and as such the AC couldn't keep the room cool. Further, rain could come into the room by way of the gap. The cleanliness of the room also left something to be desired with the floor being obviously dirty. There were several long hairs from the previous guests scattered in the bed and the shower. Service - I'm going to call out the manager who spoke to my wife and I right before we left. When I raised concerns about the room, his first question SHOULD have been "what room number"? So that these issues could have been addressed. Instead he offered empty platitudes about how "you are always part of our family" and gave us his card. With the management taking this approach of coasting, the above concerns now make sense.

Had an amazing weekend stay at The Blue Water Hotel with my family! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed graciously, and to our delight, I was upgraded to a suite. The room was huge, featuring a separate sitting area, jacuzzi, balcony, in-room dining, and a tea-making area. Everything was in top condition, and all the amenities were well thought out. The food was excellent, with a great variety and multiple action stations (sometimes even more than two!). The hotel has massive pools, plenty of space to walk around, and a beautiful beachfront. Almost all the staff were friendly and attentive—though it seemed like a few might have missed the itinerary! 😄 Overall, it was an incredible stay that far exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!
