⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We started our two-week trip to Sri Lanka at Blue Water Hotel & Spa, and it was the perfect first stop. What truly stood out was the people. The hospitality was natural, warm, and genuine. They would cater for any need or wish, always with a smile — there was never a “no”. That level of care set the tone not just for our stay, but for how we experienced Sri Lanka as a whole. The food was extraordinary and presented beautifully. The rooms are huge and spacious, and the hotel beach is stunning and peaceful. Photos honestly don’t do the resort justice — it is far more beautiful, spacious, and impressive in real life. We stayed over Christmas, and it was magical. A beautiful Christmas carols concert, Santa Claus, and fabulous festive decorations created such a special atmosphere. Each room even received a Christmas stocking filled with treats, and my daughter was over the moon to discover that her elf had left her some surprises before heading home with Santa. Because of this hotel — the staff, the food, the atmosphere — we fell in love with Sri Lanka instantly. That warmth continued everywhere we went, from the tuk-tuk drivers outside the hotel to people in supermarkets and pharmacies. Everyone we met was kind, welcoming, and genuinely lovely. This stay shaped our entire trip and will stay with us forever. A truly special place we would return to without hesitation. 🇱🇰❤️

We recently returned to Sri Lanka after many years living abroad and chose The Blue Water, Wadduwa, to stay with our family as it holds special meaning for us—it is where we got married, and we wanted to celebrate our anniversary there. The hotel itself is beautiful. The location is excellent, the design and spacious layout create a calm and relaxing atmosphere, and the sunsets are truly stunning. The beach nearby is exceptionally clean compared to many others in Sri Lanka, and the pool temperature was perfect for unwinding. Overall, the ambience and setting are a real highlight. However, our experience was mixed due to customer service and some maintenance concerns. While a few staff members were friendly, others appeared disengaged, which made us feel less welcomed—especially our parents. We also experienced delays with simple requests, a minor electrical safety concern in the room, and an unpleasant incident with food at the buffet (which was promptly addressed). This was disappointing, particularly as the customer service during our wedding at this hotel was outstanding. The Blue Water has so much potential, and with stronger focus on customer care and maintenance, it could truly return to its golden days.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel, one that we will remember for a very long time. From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed with such genuine warmth and kindness that it instantly made us feel at home. The room was, beautifully arranged, and filled with a peaceful comfort that made our stay truly relaxing. Every detail—from the delicious food to the thoughtful, attentive service—showed us just how much care and love the staff put into making each guest’s experience special. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Thinal at the front desk and Dulshan from the gym for their exceptional kindness, dedication, and warmth throughout our stay. Both of them went far beyond their duties to make sure we were happy and comfortable, and for that we are truly grateful. A very big thank you to each of them. I must especially appreciate Dulshan, who showed so much love and patience toward my six-year-old daughter. Despite his busy schedule, he always made time for her, made her smile, and treated her with genuine kindness. His remarkable knowledge in fitness training and the way he motivates everyone who walks into the gym is truly inspiring. We have never experienced such dedication and passion from any trainer before. Both Thinal and Dulshan are truly treasures to this hotel—rare, exceptional individuals who make a real difference. We sincerely wish them both a bright and successful future, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to every member of the staff for filling our stay with warmth, care, and beautiful memories.

Absolutely beautiful location and hotel. The room was outstanding and so spacious. The buffet was somewhat underwhelming considering it’s a 5 star hotel. The check in time was also too long. Everything else was perfect. You can really appreciate Geoffrey Bawa’s excellence here.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough for a luxurious resort getaway! The staff and management were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. The rooms were beautiful and extremely comfortable, offering a truly luxurious experience. Plus, the location and views are absolutely stunning. Overall, I had an amazing stay and would love to come back!
