I had a wonderful stay at The Algonquin hotel, one of the most historic and charming hotels in New York City. As soon as I exited the cab, I was greeted by a friendly doorman who helped me with my bags and escorted me to the lobby. There, I met Marissa at the front desk, who remembered me from a previous stay. check-in process quick and easy. She also helped me locate a restaurant I was looking to visit.
My room was spacious, comfortable, and had all the amenities I needed in a NYC hotel room.
The hotel also offers a 24 hour gym. Which was modern and clean.
The bartenders were attentive and provided wonderful suggestions for drinks and dishes, all the food I tried was wonderful.
The hotel combines the allure of classic New York City charm with modern amenities and impeccable hospitality. I can't wait to come back and experience it again.

It is situated at an awesome location and easy walk to everywhere. It is an old hotel but the room is very nice and cozy. Front desk staff checking me in was super friendly explaining everything upfront in details. The cleaning service could be slightly better - although the bed was made, the hanger l left on the bed was not moved and I had a "sweet" surprise crawling into the bed that second night.

We stayed here for a trip devoted to moving our recent college grad and her roommates to the city. After a day of unloading a 15' moving truck and getting everything up four flights of stairs, it was wonderful to retreat to this beautiful hotel for some quiet time and good food.
The room is small, but well appointed. We don't typically have daily room service, so I can't speak to that; but the restaurant menu was good and the wait staff and front desk and door folks were great. If you're not allergic, be sure to give the hotel cat who sits on a perch overlooking the front desk and lobby a little scratch.

Historic hotel with just the right amount of modern upgrades. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Love the atmosphere. I can just imagine Dorothy Parker sitting at the “round table.” We had the Harold Ross Suite which was nicely furnished but no view from the 6th floor. We even saw the resident cat. The hotel is supposedly haunted but after 2 days, I can’t say that we experienced anything supernatural!

A stay at this recently renovated famous literary landmark just off Times Square and walkable to Broadway show is a treat. Our rooms were spacious for midtown Manhattan and all the amenities were more than adequate for the night. Definitely try the themed cocktails at the lobby bar (carrying on the traditions of the historic "Blue bar" next door which is now an event venue called"the oak room"). Be sure to say hi to Hamlet The resident feline in the lobby.
