We stayed at Taj Coral Reef Resort & Spa Maldives — 2 nights in a Premium Water Villa and 1 night in a Beach Villa. Pros: 1. The balcony view from the Water Villa was beautiful, with crystal blue waters and coral reefs. 2. The rooms were clean, well-organized, and regularly maintained. 3. The food at Bokura was good, with multiple cuisine options. 4. The bar offered a good variety of drinks. 5. The beach was clean, and the resort had great photography spots. 6. The staff, especially the scuba diving center team, were friendly, patient, and helpful. 7. The massage session was very relaxing. Cons: 1. The speedboat ride is long, so avoid this resort if you get seasick easily. 2. The biggest disappointment was the water activities. The manager/counter staff at the dive center were not cooperative and seemed to avoid honoring activities included in the package. 3. The resort did not clearly explain the timing and details of water activities, so make sure to check everything in advance. 4. The $100 voucher felt misleading since no activity could actually be done within that amount, and unused value was not carried forward. 5. I traveled with my wife and baby. During lunch, after my wife left the table, I returned later and was asked to sit at the same table with dirty plates still there. The staff neither cleaned the table nor offered another one. 6. The dinner reservation at the grill restaurant was overhyped. The food was bland and disappointing. 7. The complimentary photo session was poorly managed. It started raining during our 30-minute slot, and the photographer left immediately instead of waiting a few minutes. Even after the rain stopped, he never returned. 8. The “sunset cruise” was not really a cruise-just a small brown boat circling near the resort. It would be more accurate to call it a sunset boat ride. 9. The resort was extremely quiet, with very few fun or lively activities like music or dance performances. Overall, I would rate the experience 3/5 stars.

Our stay at Taj Coral Reef Resort & Spa Maldives was truly unforgettable, and what made it even more special was the incredible hospitality of the entire team. Traveling with an infant can sometimes be challenging, but the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, cared for, and completely stress-free throughout our stay. A very special thanks and high appreciation to Kanika, Imali, Madu, Hussain, Minad, and Trisna for their warmth, kindness, and exceptional service. They constantly checked on our baby’s needs, ensured her food was prepared and delivered on time, and always made sure we had everything required for a smooth and comfortable stay. From arranging baby-friendly meals to offering support with genuine care and smiles, their hospitality truly touched our hearts. The level of personal attention and care we received felt more like family than a resort experience. Every interaction reflected the true meaning of Taj hospitality — thoughtful, warm, and world-class. Thank you to the entire team for making our first international trip with our baby so memorable and comfortable. We leave with beautiful memories and look forward to returning again soon!

We spent absolutely fantastic days at this wonderful resort. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. We were greeted with drums, which made the welcome feel festive and unforgettable. The entire property is very clean, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by lush greenery. Our room was cleaned twice a day, which made our stay extremely comfortable. The staff were incredibly attentive and kind throughout our stay. I especially want to highlight the amazing restaurant team — Imali, Madu, Beam, Hussain, Reehan, and Afan — who made every meal special. Their warm attitude and professionalism truly stood out. We enjoyed trying different world cuisines, including Chinese, Indian, and of course European dishes. I was pleasantly surprised when they even prepared borsch for me — it tasted fantastic! Thank you for making our vacation so memorable. We would love to return again!

We had a good stay at Taj Coral Reef, however I wouldn’t consider it an amazing one. Starting with positives: - Food, food and food. I have to say - it was marvelous. Especially at their main restaurant which also had an amazing service. I will definitely miss some of the dishes served to us here. If you are a foodie - great place to be at! - The surrounding waters were perfect for sport activities and snorkeling. The underwater world was really captivating - The crew from the diving center was super nice. Also, the hotel offers 20 mins free canoe, SUP and some other activity + free snorkeling gear so nice to try different things out. - The photography crew was also super nice and took some beautiful pictures of us. Packages were too pricy, 200$ for 10 digital pictures is pretty crazy in my opinion. - The staff overall deserves a special shoutout (minus the ladies from the reception) - the waiters, the diving and photography crew - all were awesome and super nice! Now off to the things we didn’t really like: - the resort is pretty worn down and is just old. It doesn’t give off the feel of being in a paradise, rather in some random remote hotel. Definitely not a 5 star look and feel. The room smelled old as well. - I think the reception onboarding could be better. When we asked the lady who was taking us to the room on whether they provide trial of canoe for free she said she doesn’t know and it depends on our package. When we went to the diving center, it was a standard offer for all the guests so I’m not sure why she didn’t mention that. Apparently there was also some discount on the SPA but this wasn’t mentioned either. Would be nice if they proactively shared all that resort has to offer within the package. - Given we were on a private island, I’d expect female hygiene products to be provided. Instead was sent to their boutique and asked to pay 16$ for a small pack of tampons. At least make them market price and don’t charge x5 the amount from a store given that’s the only option people have, I thought that was ridiculous. - Plastic bottled water. Insane amounts of them used daily, I don’t get how any 5 star resort could still be using plastic this way. It also does not help in maintaining a premium look as plastic bottle accompanying a nice dinner looks just cheap.

We had the most incredible stay at Taj Coral in the Maldives, nothing short of paradise. The property itself is stunning, aptly named after the coral reef that surrounds it - being able to wake up and snorkel just a stones throw away from your villa was such a privilege. The food was brilliant; not a single meal was anything less than 5*. The rooms were beautiful, the snorkels so easy to acquire, the pool pristine, the waters unending and splendid, the ambiance perfect. I could continue to rave about all of the above, but what truly makes this hotel standout, is that the impeccable Taj Hospitality was taken to another level. I simply can’t say enough brilliant things about the staff at the property, and how wonderful they were - so warm, so polite, utterly nurturing and endlessly friendly and helpful. If I could write everyone’s names I would, but apropos to that I’d like to personally thank Kanika who made our stay a dream with her hospitality and care, as well as Oli who curated the most beautiful private dinner on the beach for us, Rana who kept us laughing and entertained throughout, all the whilst delivering 5* service, Shujuh who is an absolute gentleman and inspiration and Ziyurl who had the warmest smile and most gorgeous stories. Maldives are a dream; but I have no doubt that the level of friendliness we experienced elevated this experience to a height that can’t be replicated anywhere else with such ease as displayed by this phenomenal team. You have our eternal thanks for making our holiday so special and we hope to return in the future to experience it all once again!
