I had an amazing stay at this hotel and couldn’t be happier with my experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything I needed. My room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained — the perfect place to relax after a long day. I also really enjoyed the breakfast; everything was fresh, tasty, and offered a great variety. What I appreciated most was the overall atmosphere and the small details that made the stay feel special. It’s clear that the team truly cares about their guests and goes the extra mile to ensure everyone has a great time. Janaka is an outstanding gym trainer — knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely invested in his clients’ progress. His workouts are well-structured and tailored to individual goals, and he always pays close attention to form and technique. Training with Janaka is both challenging and enjoyable, and the results speak for themselves. I was initially skeptical, having heard that the property was somewhat run-down and undergoing maintenance, and not quite up to Taj standards. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is well maintained; while the rooms are slightly dated, the overall experience was very good. Beach access is excellent, and the food was not only better than most nearby restaurants but also very reasonably priced. A special mention goes to Mr. Asiri at the breakfast and lunch restaurants (Palms) , who truly spoiled us. He made our stay memorable by encouraging us to try a wide variety of local dishes. As a vegetarian, dining outside was often challenging, but at Taj, I was extremely well taken care of throughout our stay.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An unforgettable stay at Taj Bentota Resort & Spa Our stay at Taj Bentota was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and spotless, and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. Everything was organized at the highest level. The level of service truly exceeded all expectations. The staff were incredibly kind, professional, and always smiling. We would like to give special thanks to Sam and Jack, who made our stay even more exceptional with their care, attention, and warm hospitality. Every detail was taken care of, and we felt truly welcomed and pampered throughout our stay. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and would love to come back again.

We have just spent a fantastic week at the Taj Bentota, and will definitely return in the future. The location is fabulous with great views, beach access from 3 different points and also not too far from local restaurants, the bank and shops. The long strip of beach has endless clean, soft powdery sand. We stayed in one of the newly refurbished sea view rooms, which was spacious, well laid out, bright and airy with a good sized balcony. The room was kept clean and well stocked by Rukmal, and his daily towel and flower creations made us smile, especially the monkey. There was a good variety of food to suit all tastes in the buffet both for breakfast and evening dinner. Indian specialty chef Dalip Singh made the stay extra special by making us some very tasty dishes that weren’t in the buffet, especially the methi murgh and garlic and coriander naan. He also maintained a regular supply of freshly made puris and aloo paratha which were both made to perfection. All the waiting staff were great, and always happy to help, especially Harith, Asiri, Dilshan and all the others whose name I can’t remember. We visited the Shack twice during our stay, and Manchanayeka and his team prepared and served us some very tasty varieties of fish. There were adequate loungers by the pool, which had the benefit of no loud blaring music. Pool attendant Sampath was great, and had our loungers set up with the cushions and towels quickly everytime. The reception staff were very courteous and helpful, with a smooth check in process, and the duty manager also allowed us to extend our checkout time by 3 hours, which made a big difference to our last morning. The gym was clean, and had adequate equipment for a quick daily workout, and Janaka and team were always helpful with advice and tips. Thank you Taj Bentota for a very memorable stay.

From the check in experience onwards we were treated to a luxury and pampered feel which we were looking forward to. We checked in early and while our room was being arranged, we were guided to the lounge where tea and afternoon snacks were given complimentary while we had the view of the sea - beautiful. Once settled into our garden view room (which has a lovely sage-green and dark wood design, clean and had no visible wear - well maintained), we explored the resort. Walking around was fun and felt like a true resort, having made it through the pool, beach, fitness centre (which has a sauna and steam room for each gender!). We had early dinner with a beach view from the Palm restaurant on the ground level, then after sunset proceeded to use the pool which is a wonderful size for doing laps through, and even has water polo nets! We rounded off our evening in the resort's sauna's in the fitness centre then ordered desserts via room service (prices in the menu were already tax and service inclusive), which allowed us to have a peaceful night. In the morning we enjoyed the lavish breakfast buffet where we had the opportunity to meet some of the lovely folks in the F&B team, our server Asiri, the live-chef Mahi, and the manager Tharupathi. - Asiri was extremely attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed during our breakfast, he went above and beyond with the care we received and we felt true Sri Lankan hospitality in his service. - Chef Mahi made a dish for myself which was not on the table (Milk Hoppers) and served us freshly sliced mango which was not available on the buffet selection - he care felt that he truly loved making guests happy with food. Last, - Tharupathi made sure that we were extremely happy with the experience and spent the time to converse about our travels in Sri Lanka - we wish we had stayed longer to have gotten to know him and his team better. We would higly recommend this resort to family and friends of all ages to soak in the beauty and tranquility of Bentota in the West Coast
