We enjoyed our stay at the hotel despite renovations going on. The staff informed us of this at the time of booking however we had no disturbances and we also had a lovely room that must have been updated recently. Staff was good and service was good in general. Sam provided an exceptional service at the restaurant, hence we thought to make this review! Keep up the good work. Dinner buffet spread was bit of a let down.

The hotel was truly impressive — a beautiful property with excellent service and well-maintained facilities. We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay overall. However, as a 5-star hotel, I expected a bit more attentiveness to personal details that could enhance the guest experience. We had provided our passport details during check-in, which clearly mentioned the date of birth. Despite this, there was no acknowledgment of the birthday — no greeting, no card, not even a small note. These small, thoughtful gestures go a long way in creating a warm and memorable stay. It doesn’t take much — just a simple wish or handwritten note would have made us feel special. While everything else was great, I hope the hotel considers making such moments part of their service. It truly adds a personal touch and reflects the kind of care one expects at a luxury property.

We recently stayed at Taj Bentota Resort & Spa for our babymoon, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and care—something that remained consistent throughout our stay. We stayed at the Sea View Suite, and I must say, it offers some of the most breathtaking views we've ever experienced. Waking up to the sound of waves and watching the sunset from our balcony made every moment feel special. The suite is also incredibly well-located—just a short stroll from the pool, beach, and all other key amenities. What truly made our stay memorable was the hospitality of the entire team. Every staff member we interacted with—from the front desk to the Palms restaurant chef and servers, and the always-efficient housekeeping team—greeted us with a smile and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and cared for. Their warmth and attentiveness really stood out. Another highlight was that the resort offers plenty of activities within the property itself, making it perfect for a restful babymoon. From beach walks and poolside lounging to gentle games and cultural entertainment in the evenings, we never felt the need to step out. It’s the kind of place where you can fully unwind without having to plan or move around much. As someone who has stayed at several Taj properties, I can confidently say this is one of the best Taj experiences we’ve had. The charm of the resort, its stunning beachfront setting, and the exceptional service made our babymoon truly unforgettable. Highly recommend this gem to anyone seeking a luxurious, stress-free getaway.

Went for a extended family vacation as this is a regular for some family members. We were very kindly upgraded to a suite however the room was very run down. They are renovating so I think we got the older rooms but the newer rooms look lovely. Spa was amazing and would really recommend. Staff really do go above and beyond. Overall pleasant stay.

Had an amazing stay at Taj Bentota. Since our arrival till our checkout the service was amazing. The hotel is located in a very picturesque place with a beautiful view. Rooms were good and the restaurent staff was extremely good . They always made sure our stay was comfortable and they provided custom made meals for our two year old . From the sri lankan head chef to waiter staff like Ravi , the service they gave us was top notch . The lunch ala carte menu amazing with large portions. The dinner buffet menu can be improved more . The overall experience was really good hoping to visit again . Comparing with other local hotel chains Tata group has maintained their reputation in the hospitality industry.
