Overall, we had an excellent stay at this resort and would highly recommend it! The location is great, not too far from the 7 mile beach area but far enough away to be quiet/secluded. The resort beach is connected to the bloody bay area with lots of vendors and things to see. The food was slightly healthier than average resort food and dinner was surprisingly good. Service was excellent, all of the staff we met were friendly and took pride in their work. There are tons of hidden things to see around the resort, including a goat farm (you can eat breakfast with them 🤣).
With that being said, you need to make sure this is the right resort for you. The rooms are cabin-like and you will definitely come across a lizard/bug. You also will need a *lot* of bug spray as mosquitoes are all over the region. Our room was a long walk from the entrance, but we enjoyed the walk and beautiful tropical garden along the way! Other thing to note is that the crowd is older (mainly 60+), but we didn't mind as it contributed to a very quiet/relaxed environment.
Can't wait to come back here in the future!

Absolutely love it here! The staff is beyond amazing! It’s peaceful, relaxing and gorgeous! If you’re coming make sure you bring off deep woods bug spray. There are sand flies and mosquitos so prepare for that! The beds are so comfortable, the rooms are super clean. If you need/want anything the staff is right there getting it for you. Leaving is going to be the saddest part!

We just got home from our visit and we had the best time! Our shuttle driver was AMAZING and really made our trip so much more enjoyable, right from the time our plane landed! The staff is so welcoming and helpful and answered all of my questions, including "what kind of fruit is this?" The concierges are the BEST! The food was DELICIOUS and the spirits flowed morning through night! The rooms were the COOLEST! Private, spacious, and nestled in a tropical garden of peace and tranquility! Everything was clean and modern and comfortable! And the private beach??? PERFECTION!! We will be back again and again!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. The tree houses are cool and relaxing. The only bad points are the biting insects, taking lots of insect repellant is a must! Food and staff are all lovely, any problems are sorted quickly. Both the beach and the pool have plenty of space and are very clean.

My wife and I had a wonderful week at Sunset at the Palms. The staff were incredibly attentive and anticipated our every need. The food was a perfect mix of traditional Jamaican dishes and favorites from around the world. The excursions offered some great chances to get off the resort for an adventure day. The YS Falls/Black River Tour, snorkeling, and catamaran to Rick's were all well worth the price. The property itself is a beautiful garden setting with a variety of flora and fauna to enjoy. It was a truly incredible tropical vacation, and we hope to go back someday.
