We’ve just returned from the most incredible stay in the Maldives, and I can honestly say it was the most amazing family holiday we’ve ever had. We spent four nights in the Grand Beach Villa and then three nights in the Grand Water Villa, which gave us the chance to experience both islands—and both were absolutely fantastic in their own unique ways. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed. The resort is extremely kid-friendly, which made traveling with our 10-year-old and 3-year-old so easy and enjoyable. The kids’ club was outstanding—engaging activities, caring staff, and a fun, safe environment that our children didn’t want to leave! The food and drinks were exceptional, with great variety and high quality at every meal. And the staff… truly to die for. Every single person we interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our stay perfect. Both accommodations were stunning—the spacious Grand Beach Villa with direct beach access, and the dreamy Grand Water Villa with its unbeatable views. Experiencing both really made the trip feel extra special. We would highly, highly recommend this resort to any family looking for a mix of luxury, relaxation, and wonderful activities for children. It was everything we hoped for and so much more. We can’t wait to return!

Our stay at Sun Siyam Olhuveli in the Maldives was absolutely incredible — the kind of experience that stays with you forever. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beauty of the resort and the warmth of the staff. The resort itself is spread across three stunning islands, each with its own charm. There’s so much to do — from water sports and snorkeling to relaxing by the infinity pools or simply wandering along the beaches — yet it never felt crowded or hectic. We loved that you could find excitement and adventure if you wanted it, but also plenty of peaceful, chilled areas to unwind and just soak in the views. But what truly made our trip exceptional was our host, Diyu. She was nothing short of amazing! Diyu went above and beyond every single day — always checking in with a big smile, helping us plan activities, and making sure we had everything we needed (often before we even asked!). Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel so special and completely at home. It’s rare to meet someone who takes such pride in creating unforgettable experiences, and Diyu is definitely one of those people. She truly made our holiday magical. Every meal, every sunset, every moment at Olhuveli felt perfect — a mix of luxury, nature, and heartfelt hospitality. We can’t recommend this resort enough and are already dreaming about our next visit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A true paradise, made unforgettable by Diyu and the wonderful Sun Siyam Olhuveli team!

Decent Resort, But “Dive with Whale Shark” Felt Like a Total Scam I recently stayed at Sun Siyam Olhuveli, Maldives, and overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable resort for the price we paid. The property is beautiful, the food was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a great place to relax and unwind. However, I have to share my experience with their “Dive with Whale Shark” excursion, which honestly felt like a scam. I paid around USD 370 (with taxes) for this trip, and we were out at sea for nearly 8 hours — just driving around in the boat the entire time. We didn’t see a single whale shark, not even a glimpse. I completely understand that spotting wildlife is not guaranteed — it’s nature, after all. But what really bothered me was that when I asked others who went on different days, no one saw any sharks or whales either. So if they already know there haven’t been sightings for days, why keep taking new bookings and charging full price? To make matters worse, there was no apology or gesture from the resort afterward — not even a small complimentary activity or a jet ski ride as a goodwill gesture. It just felt like they took the money and moved on, leaving guests disappointed after wasting a full day. Apart from that, the stay itself was good — nice rooms, good food, and helpful staff. But if you’re planning to visit, I’d strongly suggest skipping the “Dive with Whale Shark” trip unless they can confirm actual sightings.
