This was our second stay, and while some things have improved, others disappointed. Pros: 1. Great location at the start of the hotel zone—easy access to the airport and day trips. 2. Super comfy beds—probably the best we’ve had in any hotel. 3. Very clean pool, rooms, and amenities. 4. Surprisingly good and a bit cheese evening entertainment—we enjoyed 3 out of 5 nights! Cons: 1. Aggressive sales tactics really soured the experience. We were approached four times, including a morning phone call, even after saying no. It felt intrusive and unprofessional. 2. Food quality is hit or miss. Made-to-order items (like tacos or omelets) are your best bet. Buffets lacked flavor and proper temperature. Only a couple of the dinner restaurants stood out - Mexican and Fuego Tip: Skip group tours. Use Uber to visit places like Playa del Carmen or Xcaret—it’s cheaper, more flexible, and saves you from early pickups.

We had the best time at Sun Palace. Our room was clean, modern, and had a gorgeous view of the ocean. The staff were excellent, food was great. Esmeralda was our waitress twice during our stay and she went above and beyond to accommodate us! We loved that they have 2 pools, one that's more of a party scene and a second on the other side of the hotel that is quiet and relaxing. We also loved that the resort is right on the beach- we went for daily beach walks! Would absolutely return!

If you are looking for a change from the mega resorts, this smaller resort might be for you. Surprisingly they pay more attention to the details and try to be more personal. The crepe and chocolate at the snack bar is incredible. The beach area was awesome with white sand and crystal clear blue waters. The resort has people clearing the beach area of debris each morning. The ratio of guests to towels is incredible, its like 20 towels for each person. One thing I wish they change -- get rid of the resort credits because they are useless. After using the resort credits you still have a service fee. The service fee is pretty much the full price of whatever that item really was to begin with. Don't count on resort credits and have a good vaca. We've been to Cancun resorts for the past 15 years, overall this resort was good.

Came to this hotel three times. I brought my mom for a family trip the third time. Something unpleasant happened during our stay, Alexis from the public relations is really helpful and considerate, he went above and beyond to help us and followed through the entire process outside of his shift hour to make sure things are done right. Sun Palace is lucky to have people like Alexis to work there, people that really care and do try their best to make sure the guests have a great time during their stay. We will definitely come back.

Celebrated first wedding anniversary with my husband at the Sun Palace resort and it was an absolute dream come true. We had such an amazing time and the staff took great care of us- they really take the time to get to know each guest. The restaurants within the hotel were all excellent and the app made it easy to make reservations or order room service whenever needed! The two pools had their own vibe which was nice if you just wanted a chill pool day or more of a party vibe. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back!
