We stayed at the Sun Palace in March for our honeymoon, and we greatly enjoyed it! All of the hotel staff were extremely nice, from our hotel transportation, to the front desk staff, to housekeeping, and all of the restaurant staff. The hospitality was a 10/10. The room was nice as well. We dealt with a small ant problem in the bathroom, but it wasn’t anything major. The hotel is right on the beach with plenty of seating on both the beach as well as the pools. Staff is always close by to take food or drink orders from your seat. One of the pools also has a swim-up bar! The entire setup made for a very relaxing experience.
All of the food was great! The hotel has four restaurants and a few bars that serve food as well as drinks. One of the restaurants is buffet style for breakfast and lunch, we never had a bad meal there. I thought the Thai restaurant was very good. The only drawback was the room service. We ordered during dinner time, and it took over an hour to get our food. When we finally got our food, they didn’t give us enough silverware and had to wait another 30 minutes for them to bring silverware.
Overall we had a great stay, and would highly recommend the Sun Palace.

While the food was a very good quality the portions were small but that just allowed you to explore more foods.

This is one of the best vacations I've ever had. The resort is beautiful and great for people who are looking to get away and just relax! The Sun Palace resort is great! It has so many wonderful things to offer! A fantastic beach view, good food, and wonderful staff that are always available and extremely respectful.
I truly had an incredible time and I owe much of the credit and the fun we had on our trip to the best entertainment crew in all of Cancun! Specifically, Pedro, Desiree, Roberto, and Johnathan were amazing, funny, and really know how to get the guests involved to have fun and relax all at the same time! I will most definitely be back at Sun Palace! Also a big thank you to Eric at the coffee shop! You are amazing and thank you for taking such good care of all the guests! You're always smiling and so polite and it was really appreciated! I found a resort that I have every intention of coming back to! Loved the overall experience and the resort.

Sun Palace was an awesome get away. It’s only 15 minutes from the airport so that’s super convenient. Beach access is great because you can walk to the beach from the restaurant. Staff was super friendly and accommodating! Lots of food options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They always have some kind of show for guests at night. If you are looking for a loud party vibe with a lot of young people this isn’t the place. It’s a lot calmer than that and we loved it. We will definitely be back.

We booked an ocean view room. We had emails from a Palace representative stating we had an ocean view room. Upon arriving, Roger at the front desk told us that because the hotel is on the beach , they consider all of their rooms to be ocean view, but no technically our room would be a resort view. We told him we that would not be acceptable and asked to speak to a manager, to which he responded that he was in charge of check in and there would be no one for us to talk to, but he could connect us with a call center. I want to make a point to say how unhelpful, unsympathetic, and outright rude Roger was. The dialogue between myself, my wife and Roger would have been enough alone to sour our trip from the beginning. Next we went to the guest services desk to discuss resort credits and book spa services. Again, we knew we had $1500 in Palace resort credits. We had received emails stating we had $1500 in resort credits. The female attendant tried to say we only had $750 in credit. Even after examining our emails, we were told we would have to come back the next day to show someone else the emails and prove we were telling the truth. We begrudgingly accepted our room, Room 117, which we learned after the first night was immediately above The Bar. This meant loud thumping music until 1:00am every night. The food overall between all of the restaurants I would rate a 6 out of 10. The Italian restaurant is very good. The Thai and Mexican restaurants are pretty poor. Servers at poolside bar and grill were nice and helpful, as were room service attendants.
