My first time in Barbados and we stayed at Sugar Bay All-Inclusive. Sugar Bay All the Way!! The resort was beautiful, rooms were clean, food was great, staff were exceptional! I highly recommend going to Harrison's Caves, we rode horses at the Ocean Echo Stables both incredible experiences. We hired a taxi driver to take us all over the island. Barbados is a wonderful holiday destination. We will definitely be going back!

We have just come back from spending a week at Sugar Bay…WOW. Absolutely the most amazing holiday we have ever had. From the moment we arrived all of the staff were so kind and polite. All very attentive and we have been waited on hand and foot. The MOST BEAUTIFUL surroundings, activities and access to all that you need. The food was out of this world, and of course the cocktails! All of the staff were helpful, attentive, kind and courteous. Also a shout out to Samantha E, who was extremely kind and thoughtful. Would highly recommend Sugar Bay to everyone!

The staff is fantastic! Outside of Helen at the main bar everyone else made sure you enjoyed your stay. Not a tremendous amount of food variety but the food was delicious. There’s no nightlife! The beach is very clean. Drinks are good and lots of nonalcoholic options. I highly recommend this resort.

My stay at Sugar Bay was overall a beautiful experience, but there are definitely some areas that need improvement. First, the positives: • The view was absolutely incredible—worth every penny and truly breathtaking. • The food was excellent once it arrived, flavorful and enjoyable. • The housekeeping team did a wonderful job keeping the rooms spotless and comfortable. • The staff members Lola, Rayna, Nick, and Shane were amazing—friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond. Lola and Rayna, in particular, made such an impression with their kindness and efficiency. I even nicknamed Lola “my Marsha” because she reminded me so much of my best friend back home! These team members are gems and should definitely be appreciated and kept on staff. Now, the areas for improvement: • The restaurant service hours weren’t consistent. Breakfast was supposed to start at 7 AM, but staff didn’t always arrive on time, which meant waiting until 8 or even 9 AM before meals were served. • There is no coffee bar or self-service option, which is very inconvenient. A coffee station would solve a lot of frustration for guests. • The bar area had frequent issues: sometimes no staff was available, it closed early at 10 PM, and there was often no ice because they were waiting on deliveries. An on-site ice machine would be a simple solution. • The manager, Marita, was unprofessional. She came across as rude to both staff and some guests, and her attitude felt unwelcoming and fake. This was disappointing because the rest of the team worked so hard to create a positive atmosphere. • Finally, a small but useful suggestion: adding door runners at the bottom of the guest room doors could help block noise from the hallways and make stays more restful. Overall: The location, views, and most of the staff make Sugar Bay a great place to stay. But management, consistency with services, and a few facility upgrades (coffee bar, ice machine, noise control) would take this hotel from good to outstanding.

First time in Barbados and I would recommend Sugar Bay to anyone! It was a great location from the airport and things to do off the resort. Staff: From the moment we arrived, check in was so easy and we were greeted with big smiles and a rum punch! All of the staff were very helpful and constantly walking around checking on us while we were on the beach and bringing us drinks if we needed. The bartenders were fantastic. Anytime we had a question or needed something, the front desk was very helpful and attentive. Drinks: Made fast, delicious and strong! Can’t ask for anything better. Food: Usually I am pretty critical of food at an all inclusive(especially at the buffets) and usually avoid staying at those types of resorts and this place blew my expectations out of the water. Literally every single thing I ate at Sugar Bay was great. The buffet was actually even better than the specialty restaurants which was shocking. We liked the rotating selection each day, and how they served traditional Bajan foods too so we could get a sense of the local flavor. We only ate off the resort twice, once at a restaurant within walking distance and another was an included lunch on one of our excursions. Breakfast was great and the made-to-order omelettes were my favorite. We really liked Colin’s beach bar for lunch and how the menu changes every day. The afternoon tea is a very cute idea and yummy. We ate at Umi and Sizzle Steakhouse. Umi had amazing pad thai, sashimi, and sushi, as well as drinks. My friend ordered the catch of the day and was disappointed to find that it was fried, that was our only complaint at Umi. Sizzle was okay, we were underwhelmed by everything we had—the crab cakes, lobster mac, steaks, and fries but the desserts were great. We loved that we were able to take our desserts to go both nights since we got full, the last all inclusive I went to didn’t let us take any leftovers back to our rooms. Rooms: Stayed nice and cold, really nice balcony, loved the outlets close to the beds and outlet on the balcony. Beds weren’t extremely comfy and they are two twin beds pushed together to be a king, which we separated. The shower was fine. Beach: We didn’t visit the pool at all, it was pretty small and we preferred the beach. It was never hard to find a lounger or even a cabana and the staff is really helpful about putting umbrellas up for you if requested. The beach has a nice rock barrier to keep the waves from getting too crazy. There are so many nice places to lay and hang out both in the shade and sun. Entertainment: They had something different every night, but each night always had a singer too by the bar. It’s not really a party type resort and that’s not what we came for. Hidden by the concierge desk, is a giant library full of a great selection of books and that was a huge highlight for me. Negatives: Not many! The beach was very rocky, and they will hurt your feet. Wish we had water shoes. They should advertise the times for food better. They’re not listed on website and we struggled to figure out when each food option started and stopped. There is nothing to eat between 5-6:30 which we learned the hard way. Between 4-5 there are only pastries and small tea sandwiches offered for the “afternoon tea” and that is tricky if you come back from an excursion during that awkward time and are hungry. They didn’t restock water bottles for us when cleaning room, we had to go ask at the desk each day which is not the end of the world. I do suggest keeping Colin’s on the beach open longer and allowing the option to take hot dogs/fries/etc to eat on a lounger on the beach instead of having to do a “sit down” meal in your bathing suits at a table and be waited on. All in all, amazing vacation we are so happy we went!
