We have just come back from spending a week at Sugar Bay…WOW. Absolutely the most amazing holiday we have ever had. From the moment we arrived all of the staff were so kind and polite. All very attentive and we have been waited on hand and foot. The MOST BEAUTIFUL surroundings, activities and access to all that you need. The food was out of this world, and of course the cocktails! All of the staff were helpful, attentive, kind and courteous. Also a shout out to Samantha E, who was extremely kind and thoughtful. Would highly recommend Sugar Bay to everyone!

Sugar Bay is our new favourite resort. We travel to the Caribbean and Mexico several times a year and while we are not big spenders, we like comfort and good value, and beautiful beaches. The hotel is on a lovely beach that is well protected by barrier reefs. My husband called it his" big kiddie pool". There are plenty of chairs and the watersports staff provide umbrellas each morning. We found the rooms to be spacious and clean. The housekeeping staff are wonderful. Making sure we had plenty of bath towels. They kept the public areas spotless and constantly attended to. The menus at the buffet were such a nice change from the food at other all inclusive resorts. We found something new to try at each meal, and admired the nod to the local cuisine. Fish cakes? Yes please! The thing that sets this hotel apart from any other though, is the staff. Never before have we found such warm and welcoming members. A smile and hello was always offered. The wait staff were attentive and professional. Special love to Nicholai, Akiel (apologies for misspelling) and my newest friend, Helen, who knew what I wanted without my having to ask.

The staff is fantastic! Outside of Helen at the main bar everyone else made sure you enjoyed your stay. Not a tremendous amount of food variety but the food was delicious. There’s no nightlife! The beach is very clean. Drinks are good and lots of nonalcoholic options. I highly recommend this resort.

My experience was very pleasant,the food was good. different items daily at the buffet.and if you didn't want to go to the buffet there were 2 top notch restaurants on site as well a sushi place and a steak house,also a luncheon spot on site as well. The water was great thanks to the reefs in place the water was not to ruff at all.. Overall i am excited to go again..i actually am looking forward to going back..

Stayed for nearly a week with the family including 2 kids (ages 10 and 2). The beach was nice, unfortunately there was a ton of seaweed for most of the week while we were there so the beach wasn't as enjoyable as we would've liked. There were also some rocks that hurt so I would consider some water shoes for the beach. The pool was one of the worst designs I've ever seen; there were random steps throughout the middle of the pool and if you weren't careful you could easily hurt your feet/legs. I cut my toes pretty badly on day one when playing with the kids in the pool. The food quality was good, however there were limited options and many times they were not kid friendly. Lots of food had curry and spices which I enjoyed but the family was mixed on and the kids wouldn't touch. The rooms were clean and nice, however they were very simple and lacked some of the extra items that would make it better (e.g. shower caps, q tips, etc.). They also didn't refill our water in the refrigerator until we called and asked them to bring it up. The workers were mostly great, very pleasant, and took care of whatever we needed. A few of were a bit rude or didn't really come check on us at all while we were eating so we didn't get water refills or other drink orders when we wanted them, but that only happened a few times. The setup with the restaurant reservations being so limited was disappointing (2 reservations per full week stay and only 1 reservation if less than a week), the buffet wasn't bad but eating there for almost every meal is not what we typically enjoy on a vacation and there were not a ton of food options in comparison with other resorts we've been to. Overall, we enjoyed it as a family as a quiet little resort for us to rest and relax, but there was more we wanted out of it and we would not come back to Sugar Bay again.
