We didn't have the best of starts , they didn't have a room for us ... But to be fair they told us to eat , drink till they sorted it , just after a long journey , something we didn't need 😔 but the staff were excellent through out our stay , the hotel was a little tired? But clean comfortable , and in the perfect spot , the beach probably the best there is .. The food was very good , and the drinks , loved the wine. Just the bars use to close and you had to walk to the main one .. Sun beds 😔 not enough , you have to get up early , or pack an inflatable one ? Heard the hotel was being sold , knocked down , rebuilt? Maybe that's why they are not buying any more , which is a pity as it's a great holiday . Again you can't fault the staff . Amazing sunsets .

Just returned from a two week stay at Starfish and we did not leave disappointed! Yes, the hotel is a 3 star. So if you are expecting luxury accommodations, this is not the hotel for you. But the hotel itself is on one of the nicest beaches on the island in my opinion, and is secluded in the far corner of the beach itself leading to a serious decrease in foot traffic and tourists from the cruise ships. We spent every day on the beach so for us, this is a serious plus. In terms of the resort itself, yes it is lacking updates, the bathrooms especially so. However, due to the hotel being sold and shutting down April 2024, there isn't much to be done about that. Our room was clean, the air conditioner worked well, and we had a great view from our balcony. Also - we found lots of options for food, but to each their own on that. In terms of the negatives. We originally booked our vacation over a year before arriving with a request for two double beds. We even confirmed twice prior to arriving with the hotel management that we would be accommodated on that. However upon arriving, we were given a room with a king bed and were told there wouldn't be a dual occupancy room until 2 days later. Due to our room having a pleasant view, we chose to stay in the king and requested an additional comforter instead. Fresh towels are also a difficult aspect for this hotel. The second half of our stay we found it easier to get them but we weren't able to get fresh items unless we bothered a maid to get them from another room. It's important to note that water pressure will go in and out depending on the time of day as well. Also - some members of staff in the dining areas are quite difficult to get a hold of when you're there. This does not extend to everyone as we did have pleasant experiences with some. But there seems to be an attitude given when you ask for coffee, water, or any beverage you don't get yourself. The snack bar by the beach is painfully slow service so we didn't bother. It is quite frustrating as well that there doesn't seem to be beach chairs available for the guests. We literally had to toss ours over and bring them back up every evening, and were still harassed on the beach by a man who says they were his beach chairs that were loaned to the hotel (even though we brought them to our beach spot ourselves from hotel grounds). Finally - this is not necessarily a negative for us as we weren't interested in nightly entertainment. But there does seem to be a lack of that for guests in the evening. The staff does try their best with karaoke, singers, fire dancers, etc but it's important to note this wasn't every night so if you are a solo traveler you may be a bit bored. All in all with the negatives aside, we had a great vacation. If you are looking to see the island on a budget, the starfish is a great option and we would recommend it to anyone before it shuts down and is turned into a massive resort.

We spent 1 week at Starfish and had a great time. Some people complain about food and rooms etc . Let me say this is a 3.5* hotel and not a 5* luxury place, so the expectations have to be adjusted to that. The room was absolutely spotless and they cleaned it every day. The food was pretty good and had a good variety, but again, it's not a 5* hotel, so not endless variety. We spent Christmas there and dinner included seafood salad, roasted turkey, roasted beef and ham along other delicious items. The location can't be better as we were right on the beautiful beach. You can get beach towels and non- motorized sports equipments for free. Most staff were absolutely amazing, friendly, hardworking and helpful. Thank you. We participated in 3 trips through the hotel and loved all. You can hike the nearby hill/mountain. There is a path leading up the hill next to the public beach and you can have a nice viewpoint in about 20 min after you start going up. Thanks Starfish and the staff for the unforgettable week. Again, if you're there to see and experience St. Lucia and you're not there for luxury, you won't be disappointed.

The place is beautiful, cozy, and bright but the people staying don't really greet you . The food is delicious on some levels. The buffet was tasty and there were a lot of choices of different foods and drinks. The pool was good and the view of the beach was even better .The bar was maybe the best part. Never went to the rooms but they look great. I hope u have as much fun as me.

Yes it's 3 star so you can't expect 5 star luxury, but it's fantastic value for money. The rooms are a little tired but clean, and having complimentary beers and Cokes in the fridge after a long flight was much appreciated! The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The location is amazing, beautiful views and right on a fantastic beach. There is a good selection of drinks (including freshly made, not premixed, cocktails) and enough food choice (including vegetarian options). Highly recommend the egg station at breakfast for omelettes, plus the delicious local rum cake. Walking distance to a number of local bars and restaurants plus a mall. Lovely place for a relaxed break. Just don't forget the anti mozzie spray!
