We went to Solana for our Honeymoon 2 weeks ago. what a lovely room and view! We were however very unhappy with their drinks. The cocktails are premixed and just poured into a plain small glass. No garnish. It’s dull and nealy damped out our whole honeymoon. I would suggest you take more time to make your guests feel like they are in paradise. It fealt more like a hostel. The Buffet everyday is mostly the same, although they give each night’s buffet another theme name. The starters and mains were good, but the dessert was not great at all. The little puddings are really tasteless, we however enjoyed the icecream. Please can you look into making the experience feel more dreamy than just feeling like, oh well they paid for all inclusive so what’s the point in making each drink look like they actually want to drink it. Location is Super! Quiet resort with kind and helpful staff in general. Rooms are nice, cozy and all front beach. The beach has lots of corals and bring appropriate footwear unless you have thick skin. On the half-inclusive buffet meals, food variety and quality is ok. Just don't like that water is charged and fruit availability is basically null for dinner. No other complains. For a romantic time it's an amazing place. I was with friends and we still had a good time there. Recommended.

What an experience . . . Mauritius is an absolutely beautiful Country and Solana Beach Resort extends the experience with amazing Staff and Service. The Resort is stunning and perfectly situated. Views are majestic and the weather was perfect for our entire stay. The assistance we received with travels to Port Louis and water sports bookings was priceless. A special Thank You to Kavir at Main Reception ( What a Gentleman ), Veena for Room Service and Maintenance, and the Gentleman who took our booking at Pomelo Restaurant and went to great extents to ensure my Wife enjoyed an amazing birthday dinner. Lifetime memories were made . . . Thank You Solana

The most important, and only question I should answer is, "would I come back?". The answer, "in a heartbeat". This has been a fantastic and much needed break. The views picture perfect, the food delicious and plentiful. We chose a bed and breakfast package, but ate in Pomelo restaurant some nights and also experienced the headlining "Solana Shining" beach extravaganza meal, including prawns larger than some lobsters that i have had! Other nights we had a snack from room service or ate at the excellent Symonds next door. The treatments at the spa are on par with any 5 star English spa and again an exceptional welcome. The air conditioned fitness suite allowed for a comfortable work out. At no time did we feel that it was crowded or overerly busy. Staff speak a multitude of languages with fluency and are always ready to help. Are the rooms tired, yes, a little, but a refresh is apparently planned in the near future. And did it spoil the holiday at all ? No, not in the slightest. Are the rooms comfortable, yes! The hotel information tells you that all rooms have an ocean view, they do, it's stunning...what it doesn't tell you is that when you open the door to go out, your vista is a tropical garden, equally stunning. We loved every second, from the welcome from reception team, through the inventive towel decorations daily from Veena, our cleaner, the food and welcome from the restaurant team, including Melani, Aarti and so many others who made us feel special everyday. Stayed for a 2 week trip and had a lovely time. Staff were very friendly, lots of activities are provided (including water sports) and perfectly situated right on the beach with the reef full of different fish. Rooms have been given 4* as although they have modern air-conditioning, the wooden flooring in places is warped, especially outside the shower and the toilet. We were in a prestige room and the outdoor seating was uncomfortable. I have downgraded service as apart from our first day, there was no drinks service poolside, and you had to order at the bar, although they would offer to bring the drinks out after ordering, but this seemed a wasted journey for their staff as you would already be at the bar to take the drinks. I also found it difficult to order additional drinks at dinner. I am vegetarian, and mostly there was a good selection of food for me, but some nights it was very limited, such as the Indian night, but there was always something. Signage could definitely be improved, such as labelling for different requirements, or a brief note of key ingredients. The food overall was mostly very good, packed with flavour and not spicy hot! The stray dogs around the area all seemed well fed and none were aggressive towards people. Overall, I would definitely want to return.
