Amazing hotel! The lobby is very grand, the rooms are very luxurious and has all the amenities you can ask for. Nice modern gym, big swimming pool and a great sauna area. But the biggest point is the service, the staff here are really amazing. Very friendly and service minded. Would stay here again and would definitely recommend to others.

Just arrived for a return trip to the obelisk and unfortunately very disappointing compared to our prior experience. We came a couple of years ago and were overwhelmed with the incredible service and beautiful rooms. We arrived today and were left waiting to be attended in the lobby for a long time without any greeting. We booked a club room paying an extra charge for 3 people but on getting to the room there were very few hangers, only one dressing gown and not enough towels, coffee, milk or sweetener for 3 people. I called to request more and a staff member arrived to bring requested items but no sweetener. They asked us to leave a review and mention his name and was quite persistent, getting a qr code out and when it wasn’t working he didn’t leave until we definitely had the link. He then wanted me to write the review in front of him and I actually had to say i would do it after he’d left for him to leave. When visiting previously we were celebrating an occasion and were provided with a complimentary room upgrade and treats including complimentary chocolate in the room. This time we also are celebrating a very special occasion and despite making this clear in the booking no added bonus was provided this time. We then came down to the pool and there were no sets of 3 beds together. Despite there being a couple of staff members around the pool no one came over to assist and instead we had to move sun beds around the pool ourselves to be able to sit together. For what is meant to be a luxury hotel I’m sad to say that so far the service has not lived up to this and can only hope that this will be improved during the rest of our stay.

Akshay and Niranjan from room cleaning are the best. I have stayed in many hotel rooms across the world and this room was kept immaculately. The linen is kept and replaced so well. And the bathrooms a joy to step back into. They were very accommodating on mornings where we were not out of the room in very good time! The hotel generally is fabulous. Very very good value for money. The pool area is very very good for a city centre hotel on days where the taxi to West Beach/Palm area feels too far away.
