We had a very nice stay at Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay. The hotel is beautiful and the pool area was a highlight for us – very relaxing and enjoyable. The staff were all lovely, especially Miss Halima from housekeeping. She was extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms feel a bit outdated, and we experienced some water leakage from the shower, but overall the experience was still great. The beauty of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff made up for it. We’d be happy to return!

Beautiful hotel with amazing service, fantastic front desk support and beautiful facilities. We booked as a large booking with over 15 rooms, the team were absolutely fantastic at coordinating everything and making us feel so welcome. A special thanks to Ayoub B for his support behind the scenes and for being so hospitable. Excellent food and restaurants in the hotel and a beautiful pool and exit right onto the beach. Great location to all major spots in Agadir. Can't recommend enough! 11/10

As a matter of practice, I usually wait for some time before I write a review after staying at a hotel, eating at a restaurant, or experiencing services to avoid any form of initial bias or excitement. It's been slightly over a month since my husband and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Sofitel Royal Bay in Agadir, Morocco. After much reflection, I can confirm that in all my years of travel to over 35 countries and staying in several hotels, the service at Sofitel Royal Bay is among my top three rated experiences. They do it so well that it should be a benchmark for hotels globally. The exceptional treatment and service cuts across all areas, from the reception, the restaurant, the spa, and even the cleaning and laundry staff. Every single day of our stay was just an elevation of the previous one. There was so much attention to detail at the restaurant with regards to our preferences and every need. I have to highlight our exceptional server named Ayoub in Zeytoun restaurant. He was just exceptional! He was fast, had keen attention to detail, and was always smiling.Big thanks to Mehdi, the front office manager, who made our comfort and relaxation a priority. The ladies who cleaned our room, Fatma and Sana, made us feel special with a special setup for our special celebration. Another highlight was the spa treatment, which was really nice. It was also great to engage with the spa manager Ghizlane to understand the vision the hotel has taken on wellness. Such a treat!!! We will definitely be back.

I just want to say a massive thank you to all staff - everyone was so lovely and attentive, which was really special to me as a solo traveller. I felt very welcomed even though I wasn't staying at the hotel. I was there every night for all three nights I spent in Agadir and 2 days (out of 4) at the swimming pool with the day pass. Massive thanks to Medha (night shift), Mehdi (night shift), Medhi (day shift), Mouhcine (day shift) and of course every single staff I spoke with from the security and concierge to the reception, from the waiters and bartenders to the managers, everyone's service was 10/10. I had a light chat with most of the staff, and I can honestly say you're all lovely people! You made my stay in Agadir very special, and thank you, I will be back. I can not recommend this place more ❤️ For the day pass for the swimming pool: They had the capacity and let me use the facilities without any issues both times I enquired. The pass includes lunch (savoury either pizza, pasta, or a sandwich and a dessert), but you are welcome to order anything you like from the regular menu. The hotel is located just a minute from the beach as well where you can swim should the weather allow it. Views of the hill and the castle. In the evening they have live music which is great. Drinks are very nice, and the ambience is great. You will see locals in the evening as well. Everyone goes above and beyond to give you the best service. Thank you 😁 Beautiful hotel!

Pretty hotel. Rubbish service. This hotel was a major let down from a service perspective. We arrived at 12pm with 3 young children. One who fell asleep on the reception sofa, and one who was in a buggy crying. We were very unfortunate to have been seen by the receptionist Ibtissam. Right from the start her attitude was disappointing. We asked if we could have connecting rooms, a request which was sent by email well in advance. She was just uninterested in trying to help and simply said 'come back at 3pm at check in time and we'll see what we can do, we will try to have the rooms next to each other'. When asked if it would be possible to have early check in given the very young children, again, "our policies are 3pm check in". She was very aware we had children aged 4, 6, 8 and making sure the rooms were next to each other was very important for us. We later realised that other guests were advised to use the courtesy rooms (these are open access). When we came back at 3pm, her attitude was even worse. Again, we requested rooms as close as possible, and after about 45 minutes of arguing about it, we were given 2203 and 2211 - these are 4 doors away from each other!!!! And when we were given our keys at 3.45pm and went to the rooms, we found that neither of those rooms were even ready, they were still being cleaned. The cleaner was cleaning 2205 as well, which is directly next door to 2203. We cannot understand why she didn't allocate the rooms next to each other (2203 and 2205) given our young children - it was very deliberate by the reception staff to do this and to make our stay very very difficult. After I came back down and complained to another staff member, they confirmed that we should have been advised about the courtesy room, and also 2205 was available too and Ibtissam should have given us this room together with 2203. She wanted to try to resolve the matter, but we had already started unpacking and moving the furniture. We were so angry at this point, we just decided to deal with what we had and not have to deal with the reception team anymore. We just found this whole process extremely annoying and ridiculous. It has created lots of difficulty for us as we cannot have the children sleeping so far away from us and they are now all in the same room sharing beds. This is well below the standards we would expect from Sofitel. We have faced many other service issues, but wanted to highlight the key issue so this feedback doesn't get too long! The hotel is beautiful and has so much potential. It’s unfortunate that the service lets it down so much. Will leave a full review on checkout on google and Tripadvisor
