We had a great time at SLS. Everything from a minute we arrived was perfect. The room was spotless, the amenities , the gyms and fitness areas are a top notch. Our son had fun on the water slides during the day and at the disco at night. It was his birthday trip, so every night the hotel stuff would sing a happy birthday to him and bring in cake and balloons at the beach. Our butlers Alexis & Roman were the highlight of our trip. Very attentive to our needs and offering us an outstanding service. I highly recommend this resort to anyone who is traveling with kids or without.

I had a lovely stay at SLS Playa Mujeres overall, with many highlights and a few areas for improvement. The resort itself is beautiful and was not at full capacity during our visit, which made the experience feel relaxed and uncrowded. The beach is large with plenty of loungers and no chair wars, and there are multiple stunning pools to enjoy. Beach and pool service was excellent, and towels were always readily available. Food was a standout. Every restaurant offered unique, well-thought-out menus, and everything we tried was delicious—including room service. Twiggy was our favorite lunch spot, especially for the matcha and dessert menu, and Monkey Bar is a great place to hang out with truly excellent bartenders. The Italian restaurant was good but could feel a bit more authentic. It was nice having restaurants open for both lunch and dinner, and while the butler can make reservations, they didn’t feel strictly necessary due to the lower occupancy. The butler service was genuinely helpful—handling dinner reservations, customizing the minibar, and even setting up a late-night tea service. One thing to note is that butlers may have days off without a replacement; we didn’t have a butler for two days. Our butler also worked evenings and often sent the daily schedule after 3 p.m., when many activities had already passed. Activities can still be followed via the resort webpage. We booked a king oceanview room with a rooftop. The ocean view was gorgeous, and watching the sunrise from our room was a highlight. We didn’t end up using the rooftop much, and the jacuzzi showed signs of rust and could use a deep clean. Rooms are comfortable, though hallway noise does carry, and there were some construction sounds during our stay. At night, loud music from the pool area and occasional parties (including one at Privilege) were audible in oceanview rooms until around 11 p.m. or later. Nighttime entertainment seemed geared mostly toward kids, with limited options for adults. A few logistical notes: Privilege was closed during our stay, and Elite beach access is located near the kids’ area. An adults-only beach section would be a welcome addition. As other reviews mention, there are many small step-ups and drop-offs throughout the resort, including in the pools, so caution is needed when walking. The spa was excellent—hydrotherapy was very good, and one visit is included with Elite booking. Yoga and Pilates are offered at the spa, though this wasn’t communicated clearly through the butler or posted anywhere; I only found out after asking. The yoga instructor was quite good once I attended. We experienced a rainy week and appreciated that all pathways are covered. Public bathrooms were consistently clean and well-stocked with soap and sanitizer. I was also impressed to see zero-percent beer options and mocktails widely available across drink menus. Water availability was better than expected—bottled water is provided in glass bottles in the room, though these can’t be taken to the beach. Water stations are available throughout the resort, but not bottled. One downside was the juice bar: juices are blended with water and not strained, and cups are rinsed at the sink within the bar, which didn’t feel the cleanest. Overall, SLS Playa Mujeres is a beautiful resort with fantastic food, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere when not at full capacity. With some improvements around noise management, communication of activities, and a few maintenance details, it could be an exceptional experience.

The resort is great- super family friendly. Lots to do for my kids aged 5 months-11 years old. We stayed in the elite rooms, and had access to our own butlers who helped us with various requests throughout our stay (they had my coffee delivered to my room every morning, they sent us the schedule of the day in the morning, constantly checked in on us.) Roman and Alexis were our butlers and they were FANTASTIC! The pool and beach food service was not great (granted we were at the hotel during a busy peek time ), I wish the service was a bit faster. Other than that, great great overall stay!!!!

From the moment we arrived, every member of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, cared for, and truly at home. She always took the time to check on us and made sure our daughter felt celebrated and loved throughout our stay. Her kindness, professionalism, and personal touch turned simple moments into beautiful memories for our family. Paola is a true asset to SLS Playa Mujeres, and her dedication to guests shines in everything she does. She also made the birthday day extra special and we will always remember you. Another special thank you to Karen at the market who also was always warm, attentive and caring. She made our daughter smile everytime and was a true gem.
