My husband had informed the hotel in advance that this stay was for my birthday celebration and requested a complimentary cake, flowers, and a room upgrade to make the occasion special. Unfortunately, none of these were arranged upon our arrival, even though we had mentioned to the receptionist when check in. I even informed the receptionist that I'm a Shangri-la Circle member and requested about the privilege and benefits for member during my birthday month but no response from the receptionist. It was quite disappointing as I had expected better preparation and attention to detail for such an important occasion I hope the management will take note and improve the service for future guests.

A Most Refined Stay at Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Penang I had the distinct pleasure of spending five nights and four days at the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Penang, and it was, in every respect, a most delightful experience. Even with the monsoon season in full sway and minor refurbishments taking place near the spa, the ambience of the resort remained one of tranquillity and understated elegance. The Rasa Wing Club Lounge was, without question, the highlight of my stay. It offered an atmosphere of calm sophistication, perfectly suited to leisurely afternoons and convivial evenings. The staff there — Dania, Usman, Jodi, Syahdan, and Taufan — were, quite frankly, the very epitome of gracious hospitality. Their attentiveness, poise, and genuine warmth ensured that every moment spent in the lounge was a true pleasure. Breakfast at the Feringgi Grill was an equally refined affair. The quality and presentation of the fare were most commendable, and Kim Seng’s attentive service ensured that every detail of our morning meal was flawlessly executed. At the Rasa Wing Pool, Eakub distinguished himself through his unfailing courtesy and attentiveness, ensuring that we were most comfortably situated throughout the day — a thoughtful touch that greatly enhanced our leisure time. My visit to Chi, The Spa was another highlight of the stay. I was most fortunate to be attended to by Jenice, whose professionalism and skill were truly exceptional. The massage and facial she delivered were of the highest standard — deeply relaxing and executed with precisely the pressure I had hoped for. It was an experience that perfectly embodied the serenity and refinement for which the Shangri-La brand is so well regarded. A word of particular appreciation must also be extended to Monir, the housekeeper, whose meticulous evening turn-down service lent a genuine sense of homeliness and comfort to our suite. It was always a delight to return to such an inviting and perfectly arranged room. In sum, the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang remains a bastion of refined hospitality, where warmth of service is matched only by the elegance of its surroundings. My heartfelt thanks to all the staff for their exemplary service, professionalism, and kindness throughout my stay. It was, quite simply, an experience of the highest order — one I should be most delighted to repeat in the not-too-distant future.

Had a wonderful stay at Shangri-La Rasa Sayang. For such an established property, it’s impressively well maintained, everything felt polished and welcoming, yet unfussy. Breakfast was also lovely with a good mix of local fare (chargrilled Kaya toast!!) and the usual continental breakfast. If there’s one complaint it’s that the bed in our room was slightly too firm. What really stood out was the service. The staff were consistently kind and thoughtful, going out of their way to check in on us, especially when we weren’t feeling well. The ambiance is exactly what you’d want. It feels tucked away from the busyness outside the gates (or the resort next door!), with their attention to detail making it easy to relax. So rare to find a place that balances charm, attentive hospitality, and feeling at home which Rasa Sayang does so beautifully.

everything about this place was just perfect! The view was absolutely stunning,whether it was sunrise, sunset, or just a quiet moment during the day, I couldn’t stop admiring the natural beauty all around. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause, breathe deeply, and feel completely at peace.The room was just as impressive, clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. From the cozy bed to the beautiful decor, every detail made the stay feel special. I loved the private balcony, it really added to the whole experience. The resort itself has a calm and peaceful vibe, perfect for escaping from the busyness of daily life. Whether you’re relaxing by the pool, enjoying the scenery, or just unwinding in your room, it’s a place that lets you truly recharge.The staff were also friendly and attentive, making sure everything was smooth from check-in to check-out. I’ve stayed in a few resorts, but this one truly stands out. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic, and unforgettable getaway! Thank you so much for the lovely birthday cake 🎂

Awesome hotel and services. The room is cleaned and comfortable. The breakfast has a wide selection of foods that can cater to a variety of guests. The gym is shared between the two hotel buildings and is the best hotel gym facility we ever seen. There is even cold towel in the fridge. We also had an interesting guest visiting us at the balcony this morning - a family of monkeys.
