Had a wonderful stay at Shangri-La Rasa Sayang. For such an established property, it’s impressively well maintained, everything felt polished and welcoming, yet unfussy. Breakfast was also lovely with a good mix of local fare (chargrilled Kaya toast!!) and the usual continental breakfast. If there’s one complaint it’s that the bed in our room was slightly too firm. What really stood out was the service. The staff were consistently kind and thoughtful, going out of their way to check in on us, especially when we weren’t feeling well. The ambiance is exactly what you’d want. It feels tucked away from the busyness outside the gates (or the resort next door!), with their attention to detail making it easy to relax. So rare to find a place that balances charm, attentive hospitality, and feeling at home which Rasa Sayang does so beautifully.

Awesome hotel and services. The room is cleaned and comfortable. The breakfast has a wide selection of foods that can cater to a variety of guests. The gym is shared between the two hotel buildings and is the best hotel gym facility we ever seen. There is even cold towel in the fridge. We also had an interesting guest visiting us at the balcony this morning - a family of monkeys.

The grounds are stunning, it's a shame there's no actual beach left due to erosion. Rooms are a bit worn and better maintenance could be done to ensure the upper floors are air conditioned properly. We were given a voucher to use for an extortionate evening buffet-don't fall for it! Pool staff were really lovely and gave our baby a floaty and pool to play with as we didn't have our own.

My stay was truly enjoyable. The front desk staff were very polite and helpful. During check-in, I came across a Chinese guest who didn’t speak much English, so I assisted with translation. The staff were very appreciative and offered me many courtesies in return. I am truly grateful for this and it made my stay an excellent experience. Every moment in this hotel felt like a real holiday. I am very satisfied and hope to return again.

Alright, so it was my first time ever in Penang, and honestly, staying at the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang was an absolute game-changer. We splurged a bit on the Rasa Wing Junior Suite, and seriously, the whole experience was just amazing from start to finish. The room itself? Super spacious. But the bathroom, man, that was huge! Rain shower, those fancy John Masters Organics amenities – felt pretty luxurious. And the bed was ridiculously comfy, slept like a baby. Oh, and having a bathroom right on the terrace? That was a cool, unique touch. One of the best parts was definitely the Rasa Wing pool. It’s exclusive to Rasa Wing guests over 16, which meant it was never crowded, always chill and quiet. Perfect for just unwinding. Then, in the evenings, catching the sunset at Pinang Restaurant and Bar with a cocktail or a beer (they had a great selection, by the way) was just epic. Big shoutout to all the staff too; everyone was so friendly and genuinely helpful, especially the crew at the Rasa Wing Lounge. They really made us feel welcome. And you absolutely cannot leave without trying Chi, The Spa. That Asian Blend Massage? Pure bliss, seriously relaxing and comforting. It was the perfect way to wrap up the holiday. Honestly, I can’t recommend this resort enough. Already itching to go back anytime soon!
