To be more accurate the rating would be somewhere between 3 and 4. The place is quite old and needs renovation, almost no guests go to the beach - I guess one of the reasons being a very wide sand beach without any paved trail (see the photo), so it is simply difficult to go to the sea and back. Maybe this is one of the reasons why the pool is overcrowded. And the level of service was far from perfect. You could wait for 10 minutes in the morning for a staff member to appear and let you in for breakfast, waiters don’t always know what exactly this or that dish is. We did like the stay overall, though. The food was nice even for the in-room dining. Kids young naturalist club was great as well

Excellent hotel that delivers on its name. We had the perfect holiday in the most amazing peaceful location yet surrounded by fantastic services, food, facilities and the most hospitable staff who genuinely cared for our experience.
The pools are perfect with swimming lanes and separate areas for the kids. The beach is beautiful and expansive. The restaurants serve the most delicious food and service from Japanese, Chinese hotpot, buffets modern grill. For the first time apart from one night we eat in every single of our 9 nights.
The hotel is clean well maintained and is a credit to its management and staff. Everyone from the pleasant maid who made our room up and left stories for us on local culture, to the waiting staff, pool and beach staff, reserve rangers were so accommodating and dedicated to us having a fantastic time. By far the best hotel we have stayed in and we will be back. Thank you Shanghai LA.

The most wonderful hotel. Quality of service has lowered since our previous visits and the nature reserve no longer has orangutans, however the variety of activities and location is wonderful. The ocean wing rooms are smaller than I imagined - I am sure the garden wing sea views are bigger as not so much space is dedicated to a balcony bath tub.

Beautiful resort with excellent service. Kids and adults loved the pool which is the perfect temperature for swimming. We also loved the beach and the gorgeous sunsets! Huge variety of food for breakfast with options to suit everyone. Would definitely recommend this resort for a family holiday, our 10, 15 & 17 year old kids loved it. We had interconnecting rooms which suited us well with plenty of room for everyone.

Beautiful resort on the coast of Sabah. I got a huge room, clean and in very good condition with nice view on the swimming pool. Service is very friendly. The hotel offer different choice of restaurant and if you go to the buffet be ready to get fat :) , there is so much food and its so attractive.
The gym is quite nice and I could train there few times quietly.
I recommend the morning sunrise hike, easy for everyone and you get the magic of the nature when all birds wake up while the sun is going out.
