We were checked in by the Duty Manager, who was extremely helpful — unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name. The hotel surprised us with lovely amenities for our anniversary, which made our stay extra special. Since we had a late flight, the hotel kindly offered us shower and pool access so we could freshen up before heading to the airport for our long flight back to Australia. The breakfast buffet was amazing, and the lounge bar had a great atmosphere with friendly staff. The location was excellent — within walking distance to Chinatown, the Twin Towers, and many other attractions. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kuala Lumpur!

I was in Kuala Lumpur for business, and I knew I had to stay at the Shangri-La. Having stayed at the Shangri-La in Sydney before, I can honestly say the one in KL is even better, from the service to the warmth of the staff, everything exceeded my expectations. It was also my mum’s birthday, and I’d informed the staff beforehand to make it special for her. The moment we checked in, they surprised us with a beautiful cake, cookies, and chocolates. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and it made the experience instantly memorable. That first impression alone set the tone for an incredible stay. The staff were lovely throughout our visit, always smiling, striking up conversations, and asking if we needed anything. Their attentiveness never felt forced; it came from a place of genuine care. The interior of the hotel, especially the lobby, is breathtaking, elegant, grand, and calming all at once. Our room was immaculate, with a clean and well-maintained shower and toilet area. I also appreciated the attention to detail, like the multiple USB ports throughout the room, such a thoughtful touch for travellers like me who need to charge cameras, phones, and other devices without fussing over travel adaptors. The gym deserves special mention, it’s spacious, modern, and filled with a wide range of equipment. As someone who works out daily, I was impressed by how well-equipped it was; most hotels fall short in this area, but not Shangri-La. And then there’s the jacuzzi, one of my favourite parts of the stay. It’s peaceful, rejuvenating, and after each session, being served warm ginger tea felt like pure luxury. You leave feeling completely refreshed, like you’ve been transported to another world. Overall, I can’t recommend Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur highly enough. It’s perfect for business travellers like myself, yet also ideal for creating beautiful memories with loved ones. From start to finish, it was a remarkable experience, one that made both my mum’s birthday and my business trip to KL incredibly special. I’ve stayed at Shangri-La Hotel KL twice now, and it has always been a wonderful experience. The ambience is elegant and welcoming, making the stay very comfortable from the moment you step in. The hospitality here truly stands out — the staff are warm, attentive, and always ready to help. A special mention goes to Akram from housekeeping, who did an excellent job. He was polite, friendly, and ensured the room was perfectly maintained throughout my stay. His professionalism and kindness made the experience even better. Overall, Shangri-La KL continues to impress me with its great service and atmosphere. Definitely one of my top choices in Kuala Lumpur!

Honestly, this is what 5 star should actually be. Our recent 6 night stay has been truly amazing. The hotel is spectacular, the service is impeccable and the staff are truly a credit to the hotel. Siong and Aleff in the club horizon lounge deserve to be recognised for making our stay so enjoyable. We celebrated a birthday whilst here and I’ve never had such attention to detail from any hotel before. I would highly recommend the Shangri La in KL for anyone looking for affordable luxury.

The staff were very friendly and always welcomed us with a smile. The room felt a little plain for the price, but it was quiet and we were able to stay comfortably. Breakfast was delicious, but it was quite crowded and a bit difficult to get food. I would recommend going early. The location is excellent, with many stations and sightseeing spots nearby.
