​My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Secreta Tulum Hotel, and we had an absolutely incredible time! This hotel truly offers a luxury experience from start to finish. ​Accommodation and Service: The rooms are very well-equipped and comfortable. What truly stands out is the staff—they were extremely attentive at all times, making us feel welcome and well cared for throughout our stay. ​Dining: The food was a highlight! Both the lunch and dinner we had were delicious. The quality and taste were top-notch. The only minor point for improvement was the breakfast. While the food was good, it lacked variety; it was essentially the same offering every morning. ​Beach Club Experience: The beach club is excellent. The beach area was clean, and we felt very secure, thanks to the visible security. The beach club restaurant is also good, and the drinks offered are absolutely top-tier. ​Overall Experience: Outside of the small issue with breakfast variety, the entire experience was magnificent and we highly recommend Secreta Tulum for a luxurious and relaxing vacation.

Boy where do I start? We checked out yesterday from a 5 night stay and I’d compare our experience of that to a Holiday Inn. It’s shocking because Secrets in the DR was beyond amazing. Upon check in we were pitched the “not a timeshare” presentation. We felt so extremely pressured after saying no multiple times. When we got to the room we unplugged the phone to avoid calls about the breakfast we were forced to book. This is relevant later. Day 1: TV remote not working, safe broken, no robes or iron in the room, wine cooler leaking. They gave us a new remote and sent someone to fix the safe. Was told they’d get robes and an iron sent that never came. Day 2: the hotel took nearly a day to navigate. Everything building is designed as a circle so if you make a wrong turn you have to walk all the way around. When walking to breakfast a completely different man from the one that booked the presentation stopped us, asked if we were “insert name here”. We responded yes. He asked why we didn’t come to the presentation and then after we told him we didn’t want to go he SCOLDED us about “wasting his teams time and spot for someone at the breakfast”.. mind you every single person that came in was pitched the breakfast experience. Day 3: wasn’t until day 3 our butler slid a note under the door with his info if we needed anything. Day 3 was also the day a ROACH was inside the hair dryer, and I didn’t realize this until after I used it. Then ants were covering the one sink. At this point I had enough and talked to a manager. I asked to switch rooms. Their solution was to replace the blow dryer, bring up the robes and iron, and have someone address the ants. I had to go downstairs TWICE to have someone come for the ants. They put a “new blow dryer” in the room. Guess what, went to use it a second time and it was the SAME ONE WITH THE SAME ROACH. Food: the best thing we had was the breakfast buffet. The food at every restaurant and room service was awful. The best food we had was off the resort. Check out day: guess what? Roach number 2 made an appearance. We were ready to leave.

The staff deserves a special mention — incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help. From check-in to dinner, you feel genuinely cared for. The rooms are spacious and modern, with a beautiful mix of organic textures and minimalist luxury. Many have private plunge pools or large balconies overlooking lush greenery. The food is a highlight — fresh seafood, creative cocktails, and several à la carte restaurants that easily rival the best in Tulum. One thing to note: the main resort is not directly on the beach. The hotel offers a private Beach Club, which is a short shuttle ride away — stylish, serene, and perfect for spending the day by the ocean. Overall, Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club is a perfect escape if you’re looking for elegance, tranquility, and that modern-boho aesthetic. It’s not the typical loud, all-inclusive resort — it’s more of a hidden gem for those who appreciate detail, design, and peace. Definitely coming back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I went to this resort last February, I loved the service everywhere and absolutely enjoyed the pool designs. I would recommend this resort, it is quieter, not a party resort but it is relaxing and the food is good. You have to take a hotel bus to go to the beach, you get to see downtown Tulum, and the beach had good service you can each nachos, pizza and other things. Room service is the best I’ve seen so far.

We stayed here for a wedding, so we were with a large group and did not select this resort ourselves. The resort is nice, feels luxurious and has a great boho feel but the biggest miss for us was not being on the beach, yes you have the shuttle but it feels like a chore to go between resort and beach and take up time during your day. The beach club was really nice and had good food, it was a great way to experience the Tulum beach. The restaurants were pretty good, no reservations was nice, just show up and they take care of you. While the hotel was nice and new, it felt like we spent a lots of time in the lobby, there’s no swim up bars and you feel very confined to the inside of the resort with no views and the buildings blocking sunshine different times of the day. We barely used our swim out because it got absolutely no sun. I can see why some ppl don’t mind this type of resort especially if you don’t care for the beach, but being a beach lover I wouldn’t choose this type of resort again. That said you are in the heart of Tulum and they offer many excursions to go check out things in the area, so if you are looking for an all inclusive base to explore this area it is definitely a nice choice.
