I stayed here for 7 days for my girlfriend’s birthday and was really excited when we arrived, but the experience went downhill fast. We were greeted quickly by the concierge, but almost immediately directed to a sales pitch disguised as a “breakfast” with a concierge rep. The whole thing was just an attempt to upsell us on a Hyatt package in exchange for a $200 “fun money” coupon. Not exactly the upscale welcome the resort advertises. The resort promotes itself as a luxury experience with high-end cocktails, but that wasn’t the case. The staff was friendly, but everything served at the bar was well liquor. I asked for a shot of Don Julio and the server actually laughed at me. The amenities weren’t impressive either. The pool area is decent, but seating is really limited. The beach chairs sink into the sand and aren’t comfortable. On top of that, a lot of guests “reserve” chairs with towels for hours, so most of the seating is taken even when no one is using it. For a place that claims to offer a luxury experience, it really didn’t deliver. I’ve had better experiences at RIU resorts, where the service and quality actually feel high-end. Overall, it wasn’t worth the price. If you’re expecting a true luxury stay, I’d recommend looking somewhere else.

Revised: We stayed at Secrets The Vine Cancun since our usual hotel -Zilara is under renovation, and overall I had a very pleasant stay. The beachfront is absolutely beautiful, the AC works great, and the Italian and Asian restaurants were real highlights. We had a few hiccups with our initial room, but the team eventually got everything sorted out. A huge thank-you to Carlos on the beach, who works incredibly hard helping everyone with umbrellas—he truly stands out. And also a warm thank-you to Ceazar and Jose the manager at the Market Café for their great service and personal attention. They really added to the experience. The main drawbacks were the long waiting lines for restaurants (especially since there’s no dinner buffet) and the limited beach beds and umbrellas, which can leave guests lying directly on the ground or waking up too early to secure a spot. Another small issue is that some guests try to smoke on the property, and staff seem to turn a blind eye at first until management steps in -which can take time. The gym has stunning views but outdated. Timeshare sales people should not be that pushy nor should we get any "hotel credits" as incentive to listen to them. All things considered, there was a lot to enjoy, I could see myself going back. Thank you to the hotel team.

My mom and I had an amazing vacation at Secrets The Vine Cancun! The hotel staff made a great first impression when we checked in - it was a seamless experience. It's a very clean and well maintained resort - the staff were incredibly friendly and always went out of their way to make sure we felt comfortable and had everything we needed. What really stood out was our interactions and experience with Aisha from the hotel entertainment team. She was engaging, fun and truly authentic in her approach to guest experience. She took the time to get to know us and was a joy to be around. Every time we saw her around the hotel, she would always make an effort to say hello, kept us up to date on the resort entertainment and activities and made us feel like we were at home. Aisha is an incredible host and made our stay so memorable! The restaurants and food was consistently delicious. The resort offered a lot of variety, and the service at every restaurant and bar was outstanding. There's a lot of entertainment during the day and in the evenings as well. The beach is also incredible. Highly recommend!

I toured this hotel for a potential conference location before Hyatt purchased the property. We couldn’t get the pricing to work out for the conference but I’ve been dying to go back since! I was super excited to book this for my birthday week. My BF came with- this was his first trip to Cancun. The first thing I noticed was the appearance of the hotel had really declined. It did not feel like a luxury property at all. It was tired and there was a strong sewer smell throughout the lobby area. Our room was great! We upgraded to the premium level when we arrived. The service was amazing- everyone we encountered was professional, happy, kind and helpful. 10/10- service. The food was marginal, making the overall value of the stay below expectations. Between the poor quality of the food and the sewer smell, I wouldn’t go back. I was embarrassed that I talked it up so much to my bf before we arrived. Whatever you do, don’t do the Hyatt Vacation Club presentation. They gave us a discount on our upgrade, valued at $300 for a 90 min presentation. Buying into the vacation club means paying $300k for a 100 year membership to receive discounts on rooms. We did some research after- all the reviews were beyond bad. They start out great until you say no for the 3rd time, to the 5th person- then, get snarky. Not worth it at all. Save your vaca time. Hopefully, they can fix the differed maintenance and food quality.

We have stayed at several cancun resorts and Secrets was definitely the most relaxed atmosphere. The food was alright. Best food we had was at the Sea Salt Grill and the shrimp tacos poolside. We found that the 12th floor area pool was much more crowded than the ground floor area so we didnt end up spending any time there. Make sure to wake up early for seats at the pool. Pretty much all seats will be taken by 8am. Favorite drinks were Mango Tango, mango Margarita, and the Scooby Snack shot. The inside bar has wonderful espresso martinis and cosmopolitans.
