Amazing experience. This was one of the best resorts we've been to. Rooms were spacious and nicely appointed. We had an ocean view, and there was a hot tub on the balcony. Restaurant food variety was impressive. The service staff were awesome {Mar, Cruz, Amara, Luis (Preferred Club) and Steven on the E Team}. There was a fair bit of seaweed on the shore, so ocean swimming was limited. One of the nicest features is that if you want to party, then you have access to the Breathless side of the resort and if you want to be more laid back then you can find that at the Secrets side of the resort.

This is a fantastic choice for couples or friends aged 25+.
Entertainment: Perfect blend of party (when you want it) and peace and luxury when you don't.
Staff: Attentive, polite, and fun.
Drinks: Plentiful and everywhere.
Food: For an all-inclusive they did pretty well. The morning breakfast was fantastic.
Length: I would recommend 6 nights 5 days.
Notes: Bring your own hairdryer. Bring enough cash so you don't need to use the ATM. I think it charged around $120 to take out $1,000.
Tips: There is no requirement or expectation of tips - however, I strongly advise tipping $3-5 per meal and $1-2 per drink. Don't forget to support the Housekeepers and others you might find helpful along the way. I also find it's to your advantage to give a nice tip to start with your bartender and they will take care of you.
Summary: If you are looking for the Cancun experience without a bunch of 18 year olds running around vomiting on everything this is your place. The median age when were there was probably 45, however I think any age from 25-90 would have a fantastic vacation here.

We visited Secrets Riviera Cancun in March 2024 and VERY much enjoyed our stay. Hotel complex and facilities are modern and well maintained. Rooms are spacious and quiet at night. The flexibility of choosing day in day out between the rather relaxing Secrets pool with its Rosewater restaurant or the action-packed Breathless with its diversity of restaurants is great. We mostly stayed at the Secrets facilities, because pool and service was better, but food and beverages are good quality and delicious everywhere. For dinner the asian restaurant Silk City was the one we liked and visited most.
Staff was also exceptionally friendly and helpful all around. Deserving a particularly positive mentioning are Shelly for her great yoga class at the beach, Steven from the entertainment team with his light-hearted attitude, Mar for keeping us supplied with everything we need at the pool, Juan Carlos for solving every question in no time at all and Leti for great cocktails at the Preferred club.
What could be improved is first and foremost the inevitable seaweed problem (not the hotels fault and they keep removing it from the beach, but that doesn't help - we stayed at the pool most of the time). A lot less problematic but still worthy of mentioning is that the number of daybeds at the Secrets pool is pretty limited and people keep reserving it early in the morning. If you want a good spot, you have to play that game as well.
All in all we had a great time and really liked the hotel, especially thanks to great people working there.

The stay here was one of the most memorable because the service we received was pleasant from the moment we arrived. Cold towels to cool off from the flight, a brief tour into our suite to all room service needs from a touch of a panel (tablet) in the suite. My favorite restaurant has got to be Rosewater due to its elegance and its proximity to the open beach, not to mention the excellent service going above and beyond especially from Eric (the one with the slick-back-hair)
Everyone was mostly friendly and of course there were some not so friendly ones too. But my overall experience here was pleasant and relaxing.

This resort is a little gem and although a smaller property, the people made it FANTASTIC! Truly appreciated our upgraded swim out room on rainy days, especially with drink service by Edwin. The Breathless resort nextdoor made it feel more expensive but honestly we loved the quiet side of Secrets. Luis in the preferred lounge made our trip! Sergio our concierge went above and beyond. Mar by the pool was pure JOY. And Esther in the French restaurant had a smile to last a lifetime 😁. The beach is small but adequate. Unfortunately a lot of wind and seaweed kept us from enjoying it, but we loved the property so much we didn't miss it ...and we're beach people! The food overall was better than expected, especially the buffet that was fresh and clean. The entire property felt welcoming and clean. Well done Secrets Staff, you won us over! We will definitely return!
