This resort was everything we hoped it would. A perfect balance of tropical but not jungle like, modern but not over the top where you don't feel like you're in Mexico. The staff were all wonderful to work with from the time we checked in until checkout. Was it perfect? No! They just reopened after a huge remodel of the resort. The usual opening hiccups but nothing that time won't correct. The brand new Preferred Club building with lounge and bar, a beautiful upstairs restaurant serving breakfast and the most amazing 7 course dinner with amazing view of the ocean, and a new pool area complete with Bali beds, really is a major perk. The restaurants are on rotation currently assuming due to occupancy being lower as they are still renovating some of the areas. Food was good to excellent and again think it will improve more as new staff adjusts. I wish they had a brick oven pizza outdoors like Secrets Maroma. They had the best pizza there! The theater and sports bar areas is a great set up and the shows were great. The silent disco is always fun but they need to have a better variety of music like 80's on one channel, Rock on another and then today's top hits maybe to make it fun for everyone and 3 channels like other resorts do but again I think still learning. Beautiful grounds and walkways. The golf cart wait varied at different times but again I think will improve. Overall, I think SPM is living up to the Secrets standards and will only get better every day and we will be back :)

We stayed here as a family of four and couldn’t be happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The team greeting us at the entrance was warm and professional, and check-in and check-out were smooth and stress-free thanks to Rafael, who went out of his way to make everything easy for us. The service throughout the resort was outstanding. All the restaurant staff were attentive, friendly, and consistently kind, making every meal enjoyable. A special thank you to Diego and Memo from the entertainment team they were incredibly friendly, energetic, and made the atmosphere even more fun. Poolside service was excellent, rooms were comfortable, and the overall organization and hospitality exceeded our expectations. We were truly satisfied in every aspect of our stay. We are already planning to come back next year. Highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing and high-quality vacation.

Previously 1 star but edited below. Hate to leave this review but we are staying at Secrets Playa Mujeres and it has been a disaster so far. When we checked in, they just took us to our room and nobody showed us around the resort like previous stays at Secrets Moxche (which I highly recommend instead). Multiple things in the room were broken, the including the chairs (nails exposed), the thermostat was broken and we called multiple times to fix it but was never fixed. We ordered room service at night which took over an hour and food arrived cold. When finished, we put dishes in the Secrets "box" but the box itself was broken and dishes were not picked up all night. Even at 11am dishes are still there. I do not recommend this place for couples as there was a very large cancun "party" group there which ruined the Secrets vibe and made it very loud rather than a relaxing vacation. Edit: After voicing our concerns, they have tried to make the experience right. Specifically, America at the front desk has been very helpful and accommodating, allowing us to switch into another room which has helped the experience. Carlos who is in charge of many events, including bracelet making in the afternoon, was very pleasant and fun to interact with. Highly recommend for the management to support and provide the materials he needs for his bracelets. Still some staff appeared absent minded or not well trained. Resort was located well on the beach and the preferred club was a saving grace.

Awesome service and all of the staff are very accommodating. The rooms are so nicely upgraded and the whole resort seems fresh and new. The only downside is the distance from the airport, so be prepared for a long drive, it took us about an hour by shuttle, but once there it is totally worth the drive!

We loved our stay December 2024, over Christmas. The resort is currently closed for renovations, but even before the renos the resort was excellent and the service was really amazing. I have a number of allergies and it turned out I was allergic to the laundry detergent they used, the staff immediately took action and made sure our sheets were changed, doing everything to ensure I had a comfortable stay. I truly appreciate how kind and wonderful all the staff were. Because of what an excellent experience we had we have rebooked our winter holiday with another close by hyatt resort this years vacation. We will definitely return once reopened.
