This was true paradise!! Gorgeous resort with a ton of pools and restaurants! The rooms were so comfy and loved the view from the observatory. The hidden club was a cherry on top and a great way to end your night. Unless you went too hard on the dance floor like I did of course . I will definitely recommend this place for sure.

We had an amazing stay! The staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms were spotless, and the food was delicious. One thing that did make me feel a bit uncomfortable, though, was seeing the staff serve such great food without ever getting to try it themselves—it just didn’t feel right. If you’re visiting, definitely check out the on-site scuba instructor, Edgar! I did my very first discovery scuba dive with him, and he was fantastic. Super patient, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience unforgettable. I highly recommend him and his team!

Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen – A Modern, Relaxing Escape with Great Food & Drinks We recently stayed at Secrets Moxché, and while I truly enjoyed my time there, I had a few mixed feelings at first. The resort leans heavily into modern, minimalist decor, which I found a bit sterile. I personally love the vibrant colors and charming cultural touches that Mexico is known for, and I would have appreciated even a small nod to that in the rooms or common areas. That said, the rooms themselves were beautiful, spacious, and incredibly comfortable—the bed was just perfect. We had a swim-out room, which I loved, though I was surprised that it was more of a private plunge pool rather than connecting to a larger pool. One of the biggest highlights for me was the resort’s size. It’s compact enough that everything—restaurants, pools, and the beach—is within a short, easy walk. I really dislike large resorts where you need to rely on shuttles, so this was a big win! The food was excellent, and as a foodie, I truly appreciated the variety and quality. They accommodated my food allergies seamlessly, which I really appreciated. The drinks were also a step up from the typical all-inclusive offerings. While I did enjoy a classic margarita and piña colada, I loved that there were a variety of craft cocktails to choose from. We also tried a small ritual spa service and the hydrotherapy circuit, but unfortunately, this was a bit of a disappointment. The steam room was unbearably hot, and the service didn’t match what was described on the website. I don’t usually go for resort massages since I have a favorite masseuse at home, but I love a great hydrotherapy circuit. This one, however, missed the mark for me. If I were planning a spa-focused getaway, I’d likely choose a different resort. One area that didn’t quite match our schedule was the entertainment. It started later in the evening, and since my husband and I like to go to bed early, we didn’t get to experience any of it firsthand. From the sounds of laughter and excitement in the halls, though, other guests seemed to really enjoy it! I would have loved to see an afternoon event—maybe a carnival or something festive—to add a little more of that fun, cultural energy during the day. Overall, I left feeling completely relaxed and recharged. While I initially missed some of the charm I typically enjoy in a resort, Secrets Moxché more than made up for it with good service, food, drinks, and a walkable layout. I can definitely see myself returning!

We had an absolutely fantastic four-night stay at Secrets Moxche in mid-February. The resort was at max capacity, so there were lots of people and demands on the property and service. We had been very worried about the pool temperatures, but found them to be refreshing. We knew that the ocean would not be the most beautiful, but found it better than we expected. There are so many pools available, even staying non-preferred we weren’t able to find time to enjoy them all. Swim up bars were lively, and there was a good selection of suggested cocktails. The chairs and clamshells on the beach were very cute and made for great lounge days. Food was top-notch. There were no restaurants that we didn’t enjoy. Service was quick and workers were attentive, though I would have preferred a bit more personalization. Other than door sashes, we weren’t successful in having birthdays celebrated during the trip. Our room was in building 2 and we found the location perfect to access restaurants and the sports bar in the evenings. The outdoor music at the lagoon pool at night makes for a perfect environment to enjoy a cocktail while waiting for dinner. Coffee bar is open 24/7 and offers great espresso drinks. I’ve never experienced a more clean resort, or one with more attention to detail. Truly, no complaints.

Amazing experience! (Forgot to post this review from May 2024) Upon arrival we got hand towels, champagne and checked in. We did not pay for the ocean view but they upgraded us for free. We made it clear we did not want to do any secrets packages or become VIP guests (can’t remember what they call it). We were not asked about it again throughout our stay. Pros: -Wonderful staff, we truly were treated like family. -Food was phenomenal. Every restaurant was fantastic and unique. The Italian and hibachi restaurant were our favorites! -Views were stunning. The layout of the resort was so well thought out. There were many different pools, some with lots of energy and games and others where you were the only one there and felt like you had the entire resort to yourself. -Entertainment did not disappoint. Live bands played throughout the day and the activities during the day were so fun. We enjoyed a tennis lesson on the roof top, a water aerobics class, and a bike ride around the property. There was always something to do. The shows late at night were silly, but still entertaining. Cons: - We went end of May and the beach was a little smelly and there was a good amount of seaweed. No one was in the ocean and it wasn't conducive for swimming. (Not a knock on the resort because that is out of their control, just something to note.) Apparently there is less seaweed later in the summer. -Room service and service by the pool side was a little slow. Once we realized that we ordered food and drinks ourselves and took out the wait time. We will forever come back to secrets resorts due to their attention to detail, luxury experiences and excellent staff.
