This is my 2nd time at this hotel. Stunning building & setting on the beachfront with lovely gardens. The staff are all great & attentive. It was our friends birthday while we were there & the guest relations helped make it special for her. Our room was a big size with incredible seafront views. I will definitely be back.

Reading between the lines having read the reviews ahead of booking our stay, it was pretty clear that this hotel does not stand up to it 5-star rating and in truth a 4-star rating was apt - which I was ok with. Though regrettably, the reality is that it's a poor four star. As it does not represent good value for money. There are areas of luxury, the gardens are exceptional and of course the location is as good as it gets. Though the hotel and other outdoor areas are lacking. Our room was clean and tastefully designed but a tad tired - in particular the shower room. The lack of investment is a running theme throughout. As preferred club members, we were able to access an exclusive area to sunbath and relax. And if there was a single area that epitomised the poor upkeep of the hotel, this was it. The juxtaposition of an infinity pool against the rotting timber facade of the spa buildings was the perfect contradiction of its supposed five star status. Furthermore, a small terrace in between the two, was out of use due to safety concerns. Within the same area and a touch of class, was the six Bali beds, though these were dumbed down by the uncleanliness of the surroundings. Weeds, litter, plant debris and cigarette endings amongst sand, spoiled the vibe of the faux beach area. The actual The actual beach was cleaner. Positioned to the side of the preferred members sunbathing area, is the Barefoot Grill. The lunchtime menu is fairly varied and reasonably priced (for a 4/5 star establishment) - sadly the quality of the food and dining experience is way below expectations. There are two seating areas. Metal table and chairs that look awful but clean, and comfortable looking fabric seats that are dirty. All around the area of the preferred club members sunbathing area, are glass balustrades. They're situated on top of the roofs to the gym & spa and also on the perimeter of the boundary walls. There's not a single glass section that is clean and many are wonky. This lack of upkeep and maintenance further demonstrates standards that are not indicative of either a four or a five star hotel. In general, design of both outdoor pool areas is ad-hoc and are a consequence of poor legacy planning over the decades as the place extended and grew. It should also be made clear, that areas of both locations are in the shade for considerable times of the day. Moreso at the preferred members area. The Breakfast on offer is of a good standard and meets your expectations, as mentioned by many, it offers something for everyone in pleasant surroundings. You can choose to eat outside on the terrace of the first floor that has great views of the gardens and a view of the beech and sea too. The staff in the main are friendly and professional. That said, attention to detail in all aspects of the hotel is lacking and this systematic deficiency lies at the feet of the management.

This is a newly acquired Hyatt property and while the general staff is friendly and attentive, the management there does little to make a globalist member feel special. Despite the availability of numerous upgraded suites to our ocean view junior club, no upgrades were offered and when asked we were told “we did not pay for such”. Pointing out the obvious did not address the question of “why not” as this is not our experience at other Hyatt properties.

My wife and I had a wonderful week in August, the hotel, staff and menu choices were first class, we couldn’t fault any aspect of the hotel. Thank you for making our holiday perfect.

This is not a 5 star hotel! Even 4 start would be overrated. 2 out of the 3 nights I was not able to have hot water, even after complaining for 2 days at reception, nothing was done. I believe the hotel cannot provide enough hot water for all rooms so you are luck if you get hot water. Our room also smelled like sewage every time we got back from a day out (116). Would not recommend this place, it’s a rip off using a name and a history. The staff at the restaurant is great. Staff at reception and management is useless, they have done nothing to fix our issue.
