The resort on the secrets side is dilapidated, dirty and the place needs a face lift and cleaned. The service was hit or miss. Several of the restaurants for closed. We met vacation property Owners who advised this was the worst of the secrets properties they have ever been to. The food was 1-2 stars at best. The views were great, they had some cool entertainment, but the staff lacked energy for the most part. The best part of the trip were the people we met and the memories. Would not return or recommend.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Luz with activities was a gem, so sweet, Gabriel at the Oceana restaurant was fabulous, Rigoberto, a bartender at the Rendezvous Bar was a master with the drinks. Location was great. Food was wonderful. Rooms were a little dated, ours had a smell, but we figured it was from the sink and we covered the drain, smell went away. Light switches were a challenge, some worked and some didn't. Entertainment was good, saw the Mayan fire dance which was amazing. This was a girl's trip to celebrate our 60th Birthday, overall it was a great trip, everyone enjoyed it.

Like other reviews I read, it is a little run down and could definitely use some updates. Best restaurant is Bordeaux. All others are average. Portions are small but it's all inclusive, so just order another dish. Staff was great and very friendly. Beach is rocky so bring water shoes. Would possi ly return after updating.

My husband and I booked this trip for our 5 year wedding anniversary. It started off a little rocky but ended very beautifully. Only complaints was that we had water pouring from ceiling in the bathroom which was caused by an AC problem, and the pool/beach towels were never stocked (We reused our towel multiple times). They tried to fix the ac issue but could not so they moved us to a nicer room with ocean front view. Food was good. The Japanese restaurant was our favorite as we ate there 3 out of our 7 nights we were there. They also had the best wait staff. Very friendly and checked on us multiple times. I would say over all they deserve 4.5 stars!

We had an amazing 7 days at this resort, a special shout out to some staff we had the pleasure of being with first of all our absolutely amazing bartender Jonathan, he greeted us with a smile everytime and even had my drinks ready before I sat down at our swim out absolutely amazing service from him a natural for customer service. Our hostess Jenny at Oceana was outstanding and so pleasant everytime we went as well as Kenia from the breakfast buffet both amazing ladies both so kind with a special service each time we arrived can’t say enough about these two ladies they brought a smile to my face just by being there. The staff went above and beyond making us feel welcome and remembering my name in such a short time. We are truly grateful for how well the staff treated us as well as the spa services and much more. Thank you for an amazing visit for our first time we hope to be back!
