Secrets Cozumel was my first experience at an all inclusive resort, and overall it really was a treat. The beachfront location is beautiful, with multiple restaurants on site offering seating that overlooks the water, which made meals feel relaxed and special. Our room had a large balcony with a daybed, perfect for lounging and enjoying the view. The bed itself was incredibly comfortable with some of the best pillows I have slept on, and the air conditioning worked very well, almost too well since we could not figure out how to warm the room back up. Customer service was very mixed. About half of the staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, while others came across as dismissive or uninterested. Room service was especially confusing. It was difficult to figure out how to order, and the employees we asked did not provide clear guidance, so we ended up calling a restaurant directly to get help. The bellman was also very insistent on handling our luggage, which felt a bit pushy. The property itself is expansive and nicely maintained, but it is easy to get turned around at first. Check in took far too long, which was frustrating after traveling. Overall, it was a nice experience with great amenities and a beautiful setting, just with some minor but noticeable service issues that kept it from being a perfect stay.

Got to the resort at 5:30PM Monday evening didn’t have our room ready until 10:30PM. We reserved a swim up room, but were given a room on the second floor. When we arrived to the room it did not have a number plate at the door, and the door opened without having to use the keycard. They fixed the door after saying they weren’t going to fix it that night. We finally got into the room at 11:30PM. Our room only had cold water which didn’t really bother us, but the toilet would not flush. The front desk said they were going to comp that night, still waiting to see if they do or not. They did end up giving us free access to the preferred side and 2 50 minute massages at the spa. Tuesday they moved us to a preferred room with no extra charge, and it was a night and day difference in rooms. The room was up to date and had hot water and a toilet that worked. I didn’t understand why there were so many either 1* reviews and 5* reviews, but now I do. It depends on what room you are lucky enough to get. We had a great time after that situation, but wouldn’t recommend to stay here because you are not sure what situation you’re going to walk into.

We just returned from Secrets Aura, Cozumel. We were disappointed. Advertising this as a "Secrets" resort is dishonest. It doesn't rise to that standard. Secrets Cozumel hasn't the service, the entertainment, the facilities, or the food you think you're paying for (or taking time off to enjoy). Now, for the important part. Our first room smelled like mildew. It was in an horrendous condition, and so we were ultimately given a new room. Our second room also smelled like it too. We'd had our fill of complaining about our living conditions to staff less fortunate than us and, well, we assumed that a brand like Secrets/Hyatt would know if something so obvious was an issue. We assumed it was the climate/humidity, or something. Our bathroom backed on to a hall (see photo). On our last day, I was curious to see if the little door was a peeping Tom hideaway, or something, haha. Found this. You can see the hallway, the moldy utility closet, the hole in the wall (with gold ribbon on each side) for stink to come through. So, yeah, 1032 is a toxic room. Shouldn't be offered. Requires remediation. And, frankly, our first room (1234, I believe) stank too. Hyatt should look into the situation at this resort, as it is unhealthy (and dishonest).

Lovely resort. We had an amazing two weeks here. The room was peaceful and we slept like babies. The fridge was always full of water and beer. 4 pools. But I think what makes this resort is its people the lovely staff that are attentive and friendly thanks artemio, Wendy who works so hard and is a beautiful person and axel. The food at Bordeaux is delicious and we loved the cooking experience on the rooftop fun fun. Loved secret aura.

Worst resort I have ever been to by far. WiFi didn’t work, AC in the room didn’t work (took 2 days to fix), light fell out of the ceiling in our bathroom after first night. Jacuzzi tub in the room didn’t work, tub didn’t even have a plug to keep the water from draining to even properly use it. Complaints were made several times to the desk. I was told I was in good hands and that they will take care of us one way or another, told that someone would call us back about issues. That was 2 days ago still no call. They did send someone to the room to fix the AC that was already fixed. Somehow they ended up making it work worse. TV didn’t work in the room until the last night we stayed. (7 night stay) all the restaurants except the hibachi were sub par. Food that is not eaten by guests clearly gets recycled to the market buffet the next morning. Bar tenders range from excellent to abismal service. I think that depends on if you’re feeding them tips or not. We came with friends 3 out of the 4 rooms we booked had a litany of problems. I would not recommend this resort. If I could give less than one star I would.
