We had a phenomenal stay at Secrets. The room was out of this world, we loved the jacuzzi tub and swim out pool (worth the upgrade). The food was top tier and the last carte restaurants were great. Right on the beach, the staff were always clearing the seaweed. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Great nightly entertainment shows too! We preferred the quiet pool, shout out to Ruben and Alejandro our pool concierge and to Arceli our building concierge. We would absolutely stay again and recommend to anyone!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Secrets Akumal recently. It is a truly beautiful property with the most magnificent landscape architecture I have ever seen. I am not exaggerating when I say it was a delight to wander around the resort and get lost. It's a truly magical place. The service was absolutely exceptional at every level. One small note: if you are planning on a quiet stay, be aware of how close your room is to the wedding venue. Our room opened right onto the wedding venue for our first few nights which we obviously did not appreciate given the noise, however once we asked they moved our room to a preferred club room for free which was thoughtful of them in spite of the challenging first few nights. Ultimately, there is plenty of space at this resort for whatever type of vacation you're looking for which we loved. The food and drinks were also excellent, as was the chance to snorkel around the bay. Would very happily return here.

We had a good time at secrets Akumal. Drinks were good and the pool and beach were nice. However, we definitely ran into some issues with food sanitation. We observed birds eating from the outdoor buffets and raccoons literally stealing food off people’s tables. One person in our group got food poisoning! Overall, probably wouldn’t come back but I see the appeal for some people. Endless food and drink in a safe environment

There are simply not enough words to express how much my husband and I enjoyed our stay at Secrets Akumal. We recently spent a week at the resort celebrating our honeymoon in a Preferred Club swim-out room. Within just a few days, we knew this was the place we’d want to return to for future anniversaries. The location and property are the very definition of a beachfront paradise. Surrounded by lush trees, the resort feels like a tropical jungle—even when you’re just walking to your room or heading to dinner. The food throughout the resort was not only delicious but exceeded the standards we’ve come to expect from all-inclusive resorts. We highly recommend upgrading to the Preferred Club—it was absolutely worth it. We especially appreciated the reserved beachfront area with exclusive lounge chairs for Preferred Club guests. While the location, room, and food were all outstanding, what truly made our stay unforgettable was the incredible staff throughout the resort. Our concierge, Leidy, deserves special recognition for going above and beyond to make our honeymoon experience extraordinary. She always greeted us warmly and was quick to assist with anything we needed—from booking a massage to arranging a taxi. When we first arrived, I was still recovering from a jellyfish sting that had happened a few days earlier. During check-in, the Preferred Club team immediately sent a lifeguard to assess my injury, and Leidy made sure all the necessary supplies were waiting for us in our room. We’d also like to give a special shout-out to a few other amazing staff members: Isabella from the marketplace breakfast buffet, who always greeted us with a smile and remembered our names; Fernando from the Asado Night dinner, who provided outstanding service; and Diego, our hibachi chef, who made our dinner truly memorable. Overall, from the moment we arrived, we felt right at home at Secrets Akumal. We’re already looking forward to returning to celebrate many more anniversaries in the future.

This place is special because of the people first and foremost. The staff are the hardest working group of people I’ve ever seen, with the best attitudes. We’re going to remember their warm, friendly smiles the most. They go above and beyond to make you comfortable and happy. Everything else about the resort is great too, from rooms, to pools, to snorkeling, to the extra touches are wonderful as well. This was one of our most favorite trips of all time and we would love to come back. Special staff shout outs: Luis and Antonio and the pool concierge team - incredible job and truly set this resort apart from others. They work NON STOP! Hector at pool service - amazing service and enjoyed chatting with him - keep him around!!! Our concierge Araceli - she was so helpful with multiple things and so sweet. Thank you all. 🥰
