My husband and I stayed at Santa Catalina to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was incredible from start to finish. Having walked through the wonderful gardens you enter this breath-taking building. The luxury and opulence greet you from the moment you step into Santa Catalina.
We were welcomed at the reception desk with 2 glasses of bubbles and checked in and informed promptly.
The special touches in our room for our anniversary were fantastic, so a special thanks for organising.
The breakfast is amazing and plentiful and the service from all staff in the hotel was sensational. I'm running out of adjectives now as I really cannot praise this establishment enough.
Thank you for making our wedding anniversary so special for the holiday we spent with you. I would not hesitate to recommend.

I stayed at the Santa Catalina Hotel with five other people from 22-26 June and I returned to the UK having suffered a severe case of bed bug bites.
I want to mention up front that there were members of the staff who were extremely welcoming and hospitable towards us and we felt at the receiving end of tremendously good customer service from people like the PR manager Manuel and a receptionist called Paula. I would highly commend their professionalism and customer service; we would not have enjoyed as much as we did without their help.
However, the incident with the bed bugs is unacceptable. I was staying in room 149 which has two single beds. My friend who was occupying the room fortunately did not get bitten but for the 3 nights I was there I suffered repeatedly. I couldn’t sleep and was getting fresh bites each night. Unfortunately, I did not suspect a case of bed bugs at the time but rather thought I had an allergy to some food I had eaten. I did not recognise bed bug bites since I had never experienced them before.
When I returned to the UK and consulted my doctor, I got a note confirming it was bed bug bites. I have evidence by way of the doctor’s note and pictures which I am sending with this note.
There were 6 of us in total and we paid over 2000 euros for our 3-night stay in this five-star hotel. My holiday with my friends was completely ruined. I could not enjoy the facilities at the hotel or our visit to the beach or any of the activities. I was in constant pain and discomfort due to the itchiness not to mention the red bites all over my arms, the front and back of the neck, on my forehead as well as the lower back. It felt terrible and I am extremely disappointed in the amenities and the maintenance at the hotel.
I’d like to point out a lack of due diligence and care in the cleaning and fumigation of the hotel rooms. The calibre of this hotel is such that the rooms should be treated with insect repellents and bedding changed and washed as per regulations for bed bugs not to occur. Moreover, we were mortified to find cockroaches in two of the three rooms we had been using, as well as, during breakfast on the porch outside. While outdoors is understandable and to be expected we most certainly do not expect cockroaches in our bedroom and bathroom.
Should appropriate measures not be taken to ensure that all kinds of insects are kept out of the living quarters for the guests to enjoy their time?
Unfortunately, I received no response from the hotel when I emailed them. They did not treat my issue seriously which means that they are not doing anything towards making sure there are no bugs or insects in the rooms in the first place. Its terrible for a 5-star hotel to have this level of service.

Great city hotel with good amenities.
Rooms were nicely decorated though they did feel a bit too old fashioned for our taste. Service was great, especially at the reception and the lobby bar. Tried the highly recommended breakfast but didn't think it was anything special to be honest - food selection was good but the buffet set up was rather chaotic.
Overall it is a good solid option if you want to stay near Las Palmas.

We absolutely loved our stay here and all the beautiful architecture, halls, rooms with great charm and character of a time of elegance that has not been forgotten. We enjoyed our balcony and thought the breakfast offered everything for everyone ..even fussy eaters. I looked forward to the yummy breakfast display! 😋 the grounds and gardens are so pretty to walk along. Enjoyed a terrific massage at the Spa and also dining at 1890 restaurant...delicious. staff were very kind and helpful. Housekeeping super thorough . Concierge will arrange a tour for you outside the choices. Overall super experience!

Exceptionally charming hotel with exquisite rooms, lovely service, and one of the most peaceful stays my husband and I have ever had. The old world Spanish charm cannot be understated. Strolls in the gardens, quietly lounging while reading a book in the sun by the beautiful pool… and phenomenal rooftop views are extra special. Also, best hotel breakfast buffet we have EVER HAD. Don’t miss out!!
