We just returned from a wonderful stay at Sandos Playacar. This is our third trip to the resort and we continue to be impressed by the overall experience. We felt welcomed the second we entered the lobby and were so glad to be back! Overall, the resort is even better than the last time we visited. Yes, the rooms could use a bit of a refresh, but they are very clean with extremely comfortable beds, the grounds are lush and immaculate, and the beach and turquoise ocean is spectacular. The restaurants were delicious and the buffet continues to have a wonderful variety and impressive food quality. The staff work diligently to ensure that you enjoy every minute of your stay and are friendly and courteous. From the customer service staff, to the bartenders, restaurant staff, entertainers, and grounds crew, they work so hard to make you feel special and to make sure you get your money’s worth. We visited during spring break time but did not have any trouble with overcrowding or feeling like the resort was too busy. This is an excellent resort for people of all ages and is a perfect place for families to enjoy Playa del Carmen with the added security of being in the Playacar area. If you’re looking for a safe, clean, beautiful resort with excellent food, great amenities, a wide variety of wildlife (including monkeys!), and the most beautiful ocean and white sand beaches you’ve ever seen, this is the place for you!

This resort has the most amazing location and staff. Oscar, who was our entertainment at the pool was super fun and kept it alive. My one complaint is the room and the food. We had water that came into our room when it rained. The food is not fresh. We are elite members and had to ask for premium drinks. No Tito's. Overall the pool and Oscar were the best part.

If you have young kids, this is the place to go. My entire family stayed here (parents, sister with her kids, and our own family of 6) and we all had a blast. The rooms are perfect for big families, the food was great, the beach is stunning, and everyone working there was so kind to us. A special shout out goes to their Kid’s Club staff who were amazingly kind and loving to our kids and niece. They loved it and wouldn’t want to leave! Their activities are so fun, and allowed the adults to have some extra quality time together. Overall a great stay and would highly recommend.

Loved Sandos Playacar, the food was great, everyone super nice, the shows were really nice and the entertaining team did a great job both during the day with activities and at night with the shows. Carlos played a fun game with my son and other kids! The concierge was always helpful with reservations and logistics during our stay, hope we can come back soon!
