This hotel really exceeds all expectations and is one of the best 5 star resorts I have stayed, when it comes to service. I requested a private pool room that got sun in the afternoon and they went out of their way to show me three rooms that I could choose from, letting me see each of them in person. Erwin the manager everyday comes and speaks to the guests and made my little girl feel so special by taking time out to talk to her. It was our wedding anniversary whilst we were there and they left us a bottle of bubbles and a dessert in the room. Honestly this place is fantastic. After staying at this hotel all other 5 star hotels on our trip could not live up to these standards.

Originally wanting to visit The Tent restaurant at the SALA Chaweng Beach Resort, my attention quickly centered on the Cooking Class the resort offered. As my partner enjoys cooking, I decided to surprise him with this class as a gift. I also made reservations at The Tent and arranged a Day Pass to fully enjoy a day’s stay at the resort. Upon entering we were taken in by the capable and friendly hands of Mo, who would generously assist us during our stay. We were provided our own cabana on the beach looking out over soft white sand and a beautiful turquoise beach. Water was complimentary and the service very friendly. The design of the resort, being inspired by the moon, is minimalistic, yet beautiful, modern, but with a Thai history present. There was a large pool as well, located amidst gorgeous palm trees. We ate a tiny sample of the starter menu and it was beautifully presented and very tasteful. I had the Korean Fried Chicken whereas my partner got his hands on delectable oysters. Throughout we were given fresh cold towels infused with an orange scent and it literally gave you life. Feeling refreshed we started the cooking class with Chef Chi and received our very own aprons (which we got to keep!) and a set menu to choose from - also taking dietary and allergy restrictions in mind. Chef Chi was super patient and so kind, which vibed well with my partner who is a bundle of joy in any social setting, elevating the experience with his typical humor and laughter. We got to bruefly say hello to the owner as well, who turned out to be Dutch, like myself, and he provided some backstory about the resort while also seeming to be on excellent terms with the employees and stopping to joke with them and talking to (us) guests as well. This made our stay feel extra enjoyable! After the cooking class we got to enjoy the foods we prepared ourselves (which the owner jokingly referred to as “not being able to complain to the chef about”) and it was a feast. Arguably it was even so much food we couldn’t finish it all! Afterwards we spent our time enjoying the weather, the beach and the pool. Happy Hour starts at 4pm until 6pm as well! Our dinner at The Tent was very tasteful and atmospheric, with the lights turned on at the fall of dusk and the mirror gracing the wall of the establishment, giving it a spacious feeling while still looking cozy. The complimentary focaccia bread & miso butter was divine. Both the Battered Sea Bass & Angus Burger were on point and the desserts were also delectable, especially the raspberry/strawberry white chocolate mousse. We have expressed our amazement of the resort to the staff and to the lovely Mo, promising we will be back again, but next time as guests for a longer period than just for the day. From our impression during our stay, this is what vacation should look like. I highly recommend this resort on Koh Samui!

Needs maintenance and a more professional staff training. Lost its glory, we’ve been here for 7 years in a row and this is our final stay. Pool area felt unfresh and dirty with pool beds full of food stains and even pool not looking clean. Paint falling off and sun beds looking old. No service by the pool, noisy hotel guests serving themselves vodka from 1 ltr bottles and playing loud music, screaming to each other. Nobody came to ask them to behave, because no staff is following up. Half the pool area at upper part of the hotel were under maintenance and workers kept drilling and working with noise and construction work going on. This left half the sundeck unavailable and the pool area did not look nice. This should have been informed before arrival, if hotel is professional driven. Breakfast is really nice, but expect to wait for half an hour to get served.

What can I say…… What a beautiful hotel. Well situated just a short 10 min walk away from all the bars and clubs. Clean and well maintained, the staff at this hotel are sooooo friendly and work very hard at making your stay a comfortable one. The breakfast is always fresh and tasty with a menu of specials each day, you couldn’t want for anything😊 The beach is situated at the end where there is a coral reef which makes the water a lot calmer for swimming as opposed to the other end that is a lot rougher due to no natural protection from the waves. We stayed in an ocean front pool room which was spacious and comfortable. The bed and more importantly the pillows (which we had a choice of 3 at check in👍) was divine😊

We had an amazing last 3 days of our honeymoon stay at this hotel. We were initially not happy with our honeymoon room when we first arrived as the balcony looked over the top of the kitchen roof. The staff and manager were extremely helpful and got us an upgrade to a suite for the remaining 2 nights of our stay. The staff (Arm) also provided us with a compensatory dinner on the 1st night which was really nice of him to do, we were very happy and extremely grateful, and had an amazing stay at this hotel. The all-inclusive breakfast was amazing! All the staff were extremely helpful, except for one who was not quite friendly. But overall, the stay at this hotel was really nice. We also enjoyed free kayaking and stand up paddle boarding provided by the hotel!
