What else can I say other than PARADISE. I’ve been to a lot of resorts and the Royalton had it all this week. Great staff, great food, great location, everything was clean, room service was prompt, everyone is friendly. Drinks were amazingly made. I stayed at the Diamond Club building which was super nice and quiet away from the main crowd but also was able to go and hang at the regular pool if I wanted to and I did. Don’t hesitate at all to book a vacation here it’s a spectacular place that doesn’t get the credit it truly deserves.

Just visited the Royalton in St. Lucia. Although this is a beautiful property, it is divided among Diamond club, Hideaway, and Royalton guests, so depending on what your reservation is, there will be designated pool and beach areas for each. Drinks are barely with any alcohol and the most you'll find is gin, rum and vodka brands that you most likely never heard of. Best bet is to buy duty-free before arriving. We did, and it helped. Most staff is really pleasant and willing to be sure you have fun. Food wasn't the best. Tried the buffet and the restaurants Calypso, Italian and steakhouse. Hands down, steakhouse had the most wonderful staff, and food was delicious. Portions at each restaurant are small, so order more, especially sides. We booked an excursion through the hotel and it was the best time we had. Did the catamaran to the waterfall, mud bath and snorkeling. We also got the best island food while on tour.

1. Traveling from the airport to the resort will take 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on if they stop along the way. It is best if they bring medication in case they get car sick 2. The Royalton ran out of food and drink every day that our group was there. Which was a total surprise and disappointment to everyone. We heard a lot of "no" do you have lemons. no, Can I get bacon on my burger, no, Do you have cocktail sauce, no etc and so on, can I get a strawberry daiquiri, sorry we are out. 3. They offer room service to order food but if often arrives up to 2 hours late 4. They charge a fee of $24 per person and a $200 room hold for all rooms 5. If your staying at the hideaway, when checking out there was only 1 person to check you out, so it takes a long time 6. Guests were charged for things that they did not attend so I would suggest that everyone check their account with the front desk daily so when it comes time to check out, they do not run into any problems. 7. The food was subpar except for the Seafood restaurant. 8. The staff were not the most pleasant, not all but most definitely more than we expected 9. We had trouble switching rooms, we wanted 2 beds but was given 1 bed, NOT COOL... was told they would move us but it never happened.

We had a good time because of who we went with, but you'd probably be better off going to a different resort. The rooms were good, except they had multiple faulty outlets, which made it difficult to charge our phones. The service was abysmal everywhere except the swim up bar, where Kurdisha and Wendy took excellent care of us. Everywhere else, it was nearly impossible to get a drink. The room service was laughable; every time we would order, we would get a call 10 minutes later saying they were out of most of the things we wanted/on their menu. The food at the main dining buffet was decent, but nothing to write home about; we were glad that they had healthy options there. All in all, a great trip because of our friends, but I feel like we drastically overpaid for the level of service alone.

The location: 1 and a 1/2 hours from the airport to the resort (if you’re lucky). Other times, it can take up to 3+ hours due to traffic. The roads are only 2 lanes all the way to the resort. Be prepared with something for motion sickness. There’s lots of curves going up and down mountains. The buffet: Always the same stale and bland foods. All the breads were stale. Even the fruit was bland (must be imported). The deserts were mostly stale as well. The whole resort did not have napkins or paper towels. There was a shortage of bottled water for a whole day. Expect mosquitoes, even in rooms. The Bars: The Bar smelled like vomit every day and the tables were sticky. The lady that was washing glasses at the pool bar did not change the dirty soap water. I could see things floating and it looked like puke through the clear tub she was using. Then the glasses were not properly rinsed and were used to serve drinks. There was only one bartender with a counter full of people and people kept coming, waiting and leaving without getting drinks. The resort ran out of clean glasses to serve drinks at and also drink mixes on a Thursday night. The bar tenders that were actually trying to keep up with the people appeared very tired. The others plainly ignored guests and just walked around or stood looking into his cell phone. Friday nights: On Friday night they have nothing going on for the guest who do not go to the Friday event in the city. They had no DJ only slow boring music and request could not be made to change the music. They kept basically telling people to go to town. They charged $15 per head to take people to the city that is less than 5minutes away (if it’s less than 5 people). More than 5, you pay $10 per person. That festival is overrated!!! There’s a few alcohol vendors, food, and a few craft/souvenirs vendors that are over priced!!! There’s live music but the little street gets packed with very little walking space in the center. Therefore making it difficult to get to the other streets. The rooms: if you call for food expect to wait a few hours, if you even get it. I was getting bit by something in my room unless I was covered up. I think it was mosquitoes but I couldn’t see them or hear them. Some people complained of hot rooms, mine was cold and clammy. All my clothes felt wet all the time and the clothes steamer didn’t work. The service: The cleaning ladies were nice and pleasant. The guy that brought drinks to the room was not very pleasant. Some bartenders were pleasant and helpful but most were not helpful at all. At the buffet, one of the evening host was rude. In the buffet, the service was OK nothing to brag about or complain. The diamond club service was extremely short of diamond level. They lost the wedding schedule in their system. We had our rehearsal dinner the night after the wedding. I will never go there again!
