The Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort is an all-inclusive resort. The programme generally consists of breakfast, lunch and dinner, all buffet style, served in the main restaurant. During meals soft drinks, beer, water and wine are usually offered. Locally produced alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks like water, wine, soft drinks, beer and spirits are usually served throughout the day (except during meal times).

I’ve just arrived home and dearly miss this place! Me and my husband spent 12 nights here for our honeymoon and it was perfect. The food changing every night is amazing, full of flavours and never got bored! The bedrooms were spotless and the evening mosquito spraying service is so smart too! Furthermore, the beach is absolutely stunning… I have never seen water so clear, so beautiful! We did the romantic beach dinner, which was stunning. The lobster and steak, was 10/10! This topped off our honeymoon nicely. Also, want to give a shout out to Josephine and Grace! They were both so lovely, catering and came with the bubbly happy vibes everyone needs and loves. They made sure I always had a drink and would check in to make sure I am well. Thank you girls!

We had the most incredible honeymoon experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to the amazing staff who made us feel so special throughout our stay. Alex, who greeted us on arrival, set the tone for the entire trip. He was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely excited for us as honeymooners. He made sure we were given a beautiful room that felt like a true retreat—spacious, spotless, and with a view that made us gasp. His thoughtful touch and warm hospitality made us feel instantly at ease and truly celebrated. Nitin and Michael at the bar were absolute stars. Every evening they greeted us with genuine warmth and remembered our favourite drinks without even asking. Their energy, professionalism, and great sense of humour created such a fun and relaxed atmosphere—we found ourselves looking forward to seeing them each night. They truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and celebrated. Robert in the entertainment room was equally fantastic. His charisma and enthusiasm lit up the room, and he had a real talent for getting everyone involved without ever making it feel forced. Whether it was music, games, or just a great chat, Robert brought the entertainment space to life and made it a highlight of our evenings. We couldn’t have asked for a better team to help make our honeymoon so memorable. Thank you, Alex, Nitin, Michael, and Robert - you made our trip unforgettable!

My wife and I stayed at the Royal Zanzibar for 13 nights to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, what can I say but WOW!!. We were due to stay for 15 nights but for reasons beyond our control this was reduced to 13 nights, but the Management more than made up for this minor inconvenience. Initial thoughts upon arrival were spectacular, the open air reception area where we were greeted by Merry, the immaculate grounds and the beach is something you only dream of. We were upgraded to a Superior Deluxe room with twin balconies and to say that the rooms are huge is a bit of an understatement. The rooms were cleaned every day and a turn down service every night. All of the staff are unbelievably friendly and so hard working. The food was amazing in the Spices restaurant, made special by Cynthis and Scolatica, and The Cliff Restaurant took it up to another level with an amazing night time setting. The bar staff at the Mapenzi bar were great, Nitin, who makes a great whiskey sour, Meshack, Gloria and Grace. Christina down at the Baraza Bar down on the beach serving us drinks and giving us our daily Swahili lessons. Also a big thank you to the Management for there assistance in making our stay a memory for life, Jean, Preshak and Kushal, all unbelievably professional and courteous throughout. Would we go again? In a heartbeat, we loved every minute of it.

Habari! I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel and felt truly well looked after. Thanks to the warm and friendly staff and particularly to Grace. A special highlight was the pool bartender, Dimist, who impressed me with his outstanding friendliness, great communication, and excellent service. Due to him I know some more words in Swahili now and learned more about the local culture. On top of that, his cocktails were by far the best and most delicious I had during my stay. I will definitely return and will highly recommend this hotel to my friends. Asante sana Dimist and Grace!

My recently stay at The Royal Zanzibar was at least frustrated. The reservation communication was not as expected or as it should be. Then, on my arrival someone else came to tell that we had another reservation for the first bought in other hotel and after that I could return to Royal. I could not accept that as I just had done 10 days of safari and packing and unpacking many times due the logistic of the program, and I had chosen to stay there my last days to be able to relax before to return to my business routine. Their called "all inclusive" basis, is not. It is a very standard package of food, that for me it was like a street food, and a short and poor list of drinks, only options of beers and always warm. So disappointing. I felt myself mocked by the hotel. The power has gone many times....seriously? I really do not recommend this place. Look for a boutique hotel witj a la cart system. It will much better.
