The place is quite nice.... It is located by the beach.. The pool area is good...
But you can't expect such good service from the waiters there...
I went to one of our company's day-out... even though we went to the buffet by 1.00pm, the food was over...
Then even a refill was not done properly... and we had a mouthful of food. When eating while talking, they immediately pick up the food plate and start running...
They do not give the opportunity to eat freely...
Even though there is a way to inform them when the buffet time is over, they remind minute by minute and forces us to eat quickly...
The food also has no taste.
All that was left was disappointment.

I stayed here with my family, really enjoyed our stay. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Had lunch and dinner at the Cabanna restaurant food portion and price was good. Swimming pool clean and covered a wide area. Our room was upgraded to a suite with a hot tub and was really impressed. Definitely recommend hotel.

My recent stay at Royal Palm Resort in Sri Lanka was a letdown of monumental proportions, falling dramatically short of its picturesque advertisements and alluring descriptions. Advertised as a beachfront paradise with direct access to the serenity of sandy shores, this claim couldn't have been more misleading. The so-called "beach access" was a distant, convoluted trek from the hotel premises, involving navigating through back alleys and crossing busy streets, which is a far cry from the steps-away beach paradise promised in their brochures.
The room, which was pitched as luxurious and modern, turned out to be a dismal affair. It was not only dated but also poorly maintained, with visible signs of wear and tear. The linens were threadbare, the furniture was chipped and unsturdy, and the promised ocean view was a sliver of blue barely visible between the crowded structures that truly surround the resort.
The biggest grievance, however, was the misleading portrayal of the resort's location. The absence of direct beach access is a glaring oversight for a property that markets itself as a beach hotel. The inconvenience of reaching the beach detracted significantly from the overall experience, negating the very reason many guests, including myself, chose to book a stay at the Royal Palm Resort.
To say my experience was disappointing would be an understatement. It was a series of letdowns that not only failed to live up to the basic expectations set by their own advertising but also fell short of the standard hospitality one anticipates when visiting Sri Lanka. The Royal Palm Resort is a prime example of false advertising and promises unkept, leaving me disillusioned and dissatisfied.

Visited resort for a day visit. Service, location and food, pretty much everything was great. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would visit again and would definitely recommend to anyone ♥️

This is not 5 star hotel. Maybe 4 maximum It is outdated, has no beach access, poor facilities. Very noisy train passing nearby. No hot water in a shower at the late evening. Dinners are fine, breakfasts mediocre. Very weak cocktails in a bar unless you pay extra. Awful wine in restaurant (or pay extra). Good service.
