Stunning on the Surface, but Lacking in Substance We arrived with such high hopes. The pictures online were incredible, and the promise of a five-star, all-inclusive experience had us dreaming of a truly relaxing getaway. And on first impression, the hotel delivered. Let's start with the positives, because the facilities are genuinely top-notch. The infinity pool overlooking the marina is a true showstopper, and our kids were thrilled with their own dedicated pool and playground. The room itself was stylish, and the bathroom was a highlight with its beautiful design and a fantastic walk-in shower. On these points, the hotel absolutely looks and feels five-star. Unfortunately, the premium experience started and ended with the physical facilities. The service, which should be the heart of a luxury hotel, was a consistent letdown. Our check-in felt cold and impersonal. It was only when I made a point of asking the receptionist his name that his demeanor changed and the smiles appeared. Hospitality shouldn't have to be prompted. In addition there was a conscious bias towards guests from the Emirates.....of particular note to give an example here was a busy breakfast queue where local emirati families were queue jumped by the management team in preference to other non emirati guests. The "all-inclusive" promise also felt strained. In scorching temperatures of over 40 degrees, we found that the water in our room was rationed, which is baffling for a hotel of this supposed standard. We were also left with too few towels for our family. This theme of scarcity continued at dinner, where getting drinks was a challenge, suggesting the hotel was simply too understaffed to cope. For a five-star stay, you expect to want for nothing; instead, we found ourselves constantly having to ask for the basics. Finally, while the room looked great initially, a closer look revealed cheap fittings and fixtures that I doubt will stand up to the rigours of regular use. In conclusion, this is a hotel with a five-star body and a three-star soul. It has all the potential to be magnificent, but it's critically let down by a lack of thoughtful service and attention to detail. It was so promising, yet sadly failed to live up to its own hype.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days and 2 nights to celebrate my birthday. Overall, we enjoyed our stay—reception, rooms, valet parking, and breakfast were all very good. On our third day, however, we had an unfortunate experience during breakfast. We sat outside, as we did the day before, to enjoy the view. A couple at the next table began smoking, and my children were inhaling the smoke. For their comfort, I decided to move inside. I saw a table that had just been cleaned and asked a waiter if we could sit there—he kindly said yes. As I was settling my child, the supervisor approached and told us, in a loud voice, that the table was already reserved and that we had a table outside. My husband explained that we were moving because of the smoke, but the conversation still felt tense and drew the attention of other guests. I believe this could have been handled with more understanding and discretion, especially as we had children with us. A simple offer to help us find another table would have made all the difference. While this incident was disappointing, I still appreciate the other aspects of our stay.

The check-in process was quick and smooth, and Omar went the extra mile to ensure I had all the information I needed about the hotel facilities and nearby spots to explore. His friendly attitude and attention to detail really made a great first impression. It’s not every day you come across service this thoughtful — Omar truly represents the best of what hospitality should be. A great start to my stay, and a big reason I’d happily return to Royal M!

We had an amazing stay at the hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, kind, and incredibly hospitable. The room was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped, and every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. The team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. They even surprised us with a cake for our birthday which was very thoughtful. The restaurant staff were especially lovely—always welcoming with a smile and attentive to every need, making our dining experience just as enjoyable as the rest of our stay.
