Our Return to Rixos Premium Qetaifan Island North: Reflections One Year Later This was our second stay at Rixos Premium Qetaifan Island North. We first visited the hotel in 2024, during its opening season. Back then, the experience felt magical - everything was brand new, fresh, and carefully maintained. The hotel had a calm, almost serene atmosphere, with relatively few guests. The staff were all smiling and warm, radiating a genuine sense of optimism and hospitality. It felt like they truly believed in the bright, fairy-tale future of this resort. Naturally, we wanted to come back and relive that wonderful feeling. But this year’s visit turned out to be more complicated and, at times, even a little disappointing. 👎 Downsides & Overall Impression Of course, there were some downsides, and they’re worth mentioning: • Staff enthusiasm has noticeably declined since the hotel’s opening year. • Fish and seafood options have decreased compared to last year. • The main dining area is often overcrowded, and it’s hard to find a seat. • Some guests behave poorly, and staff often seem reluctant to intervene. • Overall, the level of service feels less personal and less inspired than before.

This was our second time staying here at the hotel. We previously stayed in October and again had a wonderful time with our two older teenage children. Great access to the water park and on site facilities. Super restaurants on site meant we were all happy. The teenagers made full use of the buffet whilst we could enjoy an evening meal in one of the other restaurants. We spent the days between the water park and the pool and noticed small changes since last time. Such as being able to get drinks and food in the water park from some of their restaurants which meant we didn’t need to come back. Great addition. Well done. Also the staff at the hotel pool bars were amazing bringing drinks and fruit round made us feel so special. Staff on reception made us feel wonderful too. A great stay and we will definitely come back. Thank you !

I traveled from the USA to Qatar and we wanted a long stay. Our first couple of days were very good. HOWEVER, the people in charge decided to change the resturant. It was exactly like any fast food resturant in New York. BUT, when I talked to the hotel manager Patricia she helped us so much and accomodated us. Seriously she is super amazing. The waiters and hospitality was good and I do not blame them for the change. Dorcas was our waiter and she was amazing! There were also a lot of other waiters from our home country like Marwa, Ikram, Ilham, Hisham, Ahlam, and Zouhir. Ossama, Dinnish, Zara, and Bonface were awesome as well.

Staff are very accommodating. We love our overall experience that is why we come back yearly for our son’s birthday. The front desk team were amazing, they make you feel welcome from the moment you step in.

I’m extremely disappointed with our stay at this hotel, especially considering we had booked the largest suite along with four additional rooms for a special occasion — my nephew’s graduation party. From the moment we arrived, the experience was full of inconveniences. The suite was boiling hot upon check-in. We immediately called for a technician, who said the AC would be fixed — but nothing changed. To make matters worse, there was no electricity for a period of time, so we couldn’t even get ready properly for our guests or take pictures with our hired photographer. This led to us paying unnecessary overtime for the photographer, which was completely wasted. When guests began to arrive, the room was still unbearably hot and it was extremely embarrassing when many of them left early because of the heat. Another technician even came during the gathering to try and fix the AC, which disrupted the event — and it still didn’t work. On top of that, the fridge in the room was locked the entire time, the telephone didn’t work, and we couldn’t reach room service. To add insult to injury, our party was held at the water park and no golf car transportation was provided, even though we had pregnant women and guests with medical conditions. Everyone had to walk under the burning sun. When we did find a golf cart, the driver refused to take us. We raised these concerns to the reception, who told us that the AC would be fixed by 10 PM or we would leave — yet here we are, still waiting and still suffering in the heat. This was supposed to be a joyful, once-in-a-lifetime celebration, but the poor management, lack of service, and broken facilities completely ruined the experience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you’re planning a special event.
