We visited RG Village in August as a couple, and honestly… we were ENCHANTED! From the very first moment, we felt that this place has a unique, romantic aura that’s hard to find elsewhere. The hotel is surrounded by greenery, with peaceful corners and softly lit pathways that make you want to stroll hand-in-hand every evening. The overall atmosphere feels dreamy, almost magical, and it truly sweeps you away. The food was exceptional — each day brought a new, delicious experience. There were plenty of options, everything was fresh, and the quality was evident in every dish. Every meal felt like a small gastronomic ritual. The cocktails by the pools were absolutely wonderful: refreshing, well-balanced, and beautifully crafted, perfect for the warm August days. And of course, the roof garden was where we spent our most memorable evenings — with stunning views, lovely music, and a romantic ambiance that made every moment feel special. A special mention goes to the reception staff. They welcomed us with genuine warmth, a big smile, and a sincere willingness to help. Their kindness and attentive service contributed enormously to the hotel’s romantic atmosphere and made us feel at home right away. Overall, RG Village is an ideal destination for couples: romantic, peaceful, surrounded by beautiful nature, with excellent food, fantastic drinks, and staff who truly love what they do. We highly recommend it! It was an experience we will remember for a long time — and we will definitely return!

We’ve stopped here twice and really enjoyed both times. If you want a quiet and relaxing place away from the city, this is definitely it. I will admit that it’s not for everyone (like a party kind of place) but if you are seeking the above, it’s hard to be disappointed. The location is a bit of a catch-22. On the one hand yes you are a bit far out which makes venturing out a little tricky (though very doable). However the advantage is that it’s quiet. The rooms were clean both times and the house keeping service (which you have to book online when you want a clean done) was always thorough and quality. The food seems to be a bone of contention but honestly we never had trouble. It does revolve around the same sort of thing each day but there’s always variety to be had and in the main the food is nice. The pools are also great - they are cold, yes, but when you’re in the sun all day they’re a welcome relief when you get in. It is also worth remembering that 5 stars in the hotel world means its to do with the level of service the hotel can offer (like a spa, dry cleaning etc). The more services, the higher the stars. It’s a sprawling place and there is loads here. My only critic is that what they offer should be signposted more.

Myself, my husband and two little girls aged 4 and 7 have just finished our week here end of October , and think it’s been absolutely lovely. Upgraded to a pool room and got a villa type room over two floors, very spacious which was nice when you have little ones. Also kids pool and playroom which the girls had to themselves, whilst we sunbathed next to them on the super comfy padded loungers! Lovely big pool areas, everything was clean, food was samey agree with but very nice. Lovely salads, hot veggie food, gyros, lots of meat and choice for little ones :) thought it was great that they put on a shuttle to the beach and to the Rethymno town (15 mins) which made access to get out and about super easy and didn’t matter that you were up in the hills a little bit. Go to paraplous restaurant on the beach for sunset dinner, stunning 👌🏼 Beautiful views in the hotel was lovely and calm because it was end of season, absolute bliss tbh. I’d say it’s a 4 star for sure but not a 5. Not much in the way of entertainment just a couple of nights Greek dancing. No idea how they cope in that canteen area in August! Overall I’m giving this a 8/10, thought the staff were lovely and friendly, attentive to the kids, lovely hotel overall and we really enjoyed our relaxed stay!

Major Room for Improvement – Disappointing Food and Service We’re currently staying at the Ramondi Grand Resort and Spa in Crete, and unfortunately, our experience so far hasn’t lived up to expectations. The food is consistently cold and very repetitive, with little variety from day to day. For a hotel that presents itself as a high-end resort, the dining experience really needs improvement. We’ve spent the past six nights eating out elsewhere and have had far better meals each time. The only decent option here has been room service, which you have to pay an extra €5 for, making it hard to justify. On the positive side, the bar staff are absolutely lovely – friendly, attentive, and always make you feel welcome. However, the reception staff are quite dismissive and unhelpful, which creates a poor first impression and takes away from the overall experience. The hotel itself has potential, but management really needs to focus on improving food quality, variety, and staff training at reception. With some attention to detail and consistency, this could be a fantastic place to stay – but at the moment, it falls short of what guests should expect from a resort of this standard.

A Quirky Escape with Compromised Comfort Overall Impression: This resort offers a visually interesting and generally relaxing environment, perfect for guests who prioritize unique aesthetics and a quiet place to unwind. However, the all-inclusive experience is significantly let down by the low quality of the food and beverages, which impacts the overall value of the stay. The Good: Ambiance and Relaxation The resort provides spaces for guests to de-stress. The quirky seating areas dotted around the grounds are a fantastic touch. They encourage relaxation and offer unique spots to read a book or simply enjoy the sun. This focus on thoughtful, individual lounging is a major selling point and creates a genuinely serene atmosphere. The Bad: The pool cleanliness and up keep of the areas lack attention. The gym is very basic the one time I visited it felt like an old western movie set with fallen tiles and blown leaves. I half expected tumble weed to be blown through. Food, Drink, and Dining Experience Unfortunately, the essential elements of the all-inclusive package were severely disappointing. Inclusive Drinks: The alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were consistently weak, lacking any distinct flavor, and felt like a substantial letdown. To compound this, they were served in battered, worn glasses, which immediately lowered the perception of hygiene and quality. Dining Hall: The main eating environment was loud and utilitarian, reminding me unfavourably of a school canteen. This atmosphere made meals feel rushed and impersonal, entirely contradicting the resort’s otherwise peaceful vibe. The Food: While plentiful, the food itself was tasteless and uninspired. The kitchen needs a serious overhaul to inject flavor, fresh ingredients, and variety into the menu to meet the expectations of an international resort. Final Verdict This is a beautiful property that provides a genuine sense of peace and tranquility thanks to its unique design and ample relaxation spaces. at one time I'm sure this had the potential to be 5* If you plan on dining out and buying your own high-quality drinks, you might enjoy the quirky resort setting. However, if you are relying on the all-inclusive package for both food and drinks, I would strongly advise against booking until the resort makes major improvements to its catering service and dining facilities. The current offering does not match the price point or the visual quality of the resort itself.
