Would struggle to recommend this hotel. The resort is generally impressive but there are a lot of negatives which spoilt the stay for us, and given the price I don’t think it’s worth it. - Do not do half board or all inclusive, it’s a complete rip off. It’s cheaper to pay as you go - Main buffet breakfast is poor, red level is good but the other restaurants on site look really underwhelming - On check in we were told we would be able to check out at 2pm, the day before we checked out called reception to confirm. They advised late check out was now not available and we’d need to be out of our room by 12 but we could get another room to have a shower at, but we’d need to call back in the morning to confirm it. The next day we stopped by reception and asked for a room to be allocated for a shower before leaving, they said they could offer us a room for an hour and a half between 4:30pm and 6pm. At 4:30pm I went to reception to get the keys to the room, it turned out to be on the other side of the hotel and we’d been allocated 2 half hour slots in a tiny room with a shower, it was a complete faff and very disorganised. We were told our bags would get picked up at 6pm, no one turned up and it took repeated calls to organise everything. - Birds and flies at breakfast were very irritating, unhygienic and staff seemed to do nothing about it. - Rooms were not cleaned to the highest standard. - Most disappointingly after calling the reception late in the evening to let them know we had got engaged on the second to last day of our holiday to see if they could do anything special for us, they advised they’d let the manager know- we got absolutely nothing, not even a congratulations message. We were willing to pay for champagne or flowers etc. Very disappointing. Edited: replied to our review but offered no solution

Having returned to the Red Level several times for our re.treats, we can only describe it as simply wonderful. The hotel boasts elegant, spacious rooms that are serviced twice daily, a heated pool, and a dedicated restaurant. Staying at Red Level also grants access to the full array of hotel facilities, including the spa, multiple restaurants and bars, entertainment options, and additional pools. What we love most is the freedom of choice: we could drift between the calm of Red Level and the livelier areas of the main hotel as the mood took us. Every restaurant offered exceptional dining, with the Roof Top at sunset being a magical experience, and Agave serving as the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch. The drinks menu is broad and carefully curated; each cocktail and beverage we sampled was crafted to perfection. The staff are charming and attentive. A special mention to Beatriz G., whose warm smile, efficiency, and eloquence added an extra sparkle to our days. The location is ideal, just a short walk from the village, with a picturesque seafront path leading to beaches and natural pools. We were blessed with lovely sunshine and a pleasant 25°C, a true tonic for mind and body. We cannot recommend the Red Level highly enough.

We stayed four nights for my boyfriend’s birthday and had the most amazing experience! The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always ready to answer our questions. Communication before our arrival was effortless via email, which made everything so easy. The reception team even helped me arrange a surprise for my boyfriend, and all our requests were taken care of within minutes. The hotel offers complimentary parking for Red Level guests, which is a great plus. We loved the breakfast in the Bistrot Provençal, with a buffet and à la carte options, and enjoyed relaxing by the pools—especially the stunning infinity pool. We also tried the on-site restaurant, La Terrasse, which had an amazing ambiance, divine food, and excellent service. The only minor downside was that the sunbeds by the pools tended to be occupied from early in the day, making it a bit tricky to find a spot. Since we visited off-season, it might be more challenging during peak summer. Overall, everything about our stay was exceptional. We highly recommend this hotel for a memorable and relaxing getaway!

This is our second time returning to Gran Melia resort and we are already planning our next holiday. From the moment you arrive at Gran Melia the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and help you with any queries or concerns you might have. The level of care and hospitality at this resort is the best we have ever experienced. The hotel has something for everyone, endless entertainment for children, adults only sections for quiet and moments away from chaos as well as restaurants with exceptional food. A special thank you to all the staff in the red level for all their help.

Lovely place! I get here on day 1 and find a beautiful card slipped under my door by “Barbara”. Inviting me to get a “special invitation” to the Circle Melia lounge. Upon turning up I am told I can get a one day €250 cabana sun lounger rental or €150 resort credit. All I need to do is listed to 45 mins of spiel on what sounds like a timeshare scheme from the head honcho. Oh no, it is not a timeshare scheme. It is a plan which is well worth my time and money. Could cost tens of thousands of pounds. Tailored for me. And all adults in the group have to come along for the spiel to get the €150. And the kids have to come along as well to get an excellent bangle. And thymey will happily keep you there for well over an hour. You can read all about what guests think to these schemes in other reviews. And I did not buy. Anyway, if you say “no” you will find reception have shared your phone number with the sales rep and you get whatsapps. You will constantly bump into them throughout the hotel. And you are only safe in the toilets (assuming you are the opposite sex to the sales rep). I just think that in this day and age, they should lay off the hard sell and let guests enjoy their holiday. After getting a “no” they should move onto the next guest. Not subject them to this. Nice enough hotel otherwise.
