We stayed here for three nights. First, the location is excellent — the pool is right on the beach, with direct access to the ocean, which is a big plus. Unfortunately, the rooms were the biggest downside. We were very excited about our villa based on the photos, but it was a disappointment in person. The room felt dated and poorly maintained. There was an unpleasant scent when we arrived, which was addressed with a small candle rather than a proper fix. The outdoor bath/pool area was particularly concerning — it was dirty, with visible algae in the water features. The pillows were also extremely uncomfortable, more like large decorative cushions than proper sleeping pillows. Staff were okay overall. While they didn’t assist us with booking tours (we had to go through another resort), they were quick to bring fresh towels when requested. Breakfast was included and was fine — a standard resort offering. Overall, given the price point, we wouldn’t recommend this property.

I have stayed at the Railay Bay Resort twice now, once in 2019 and just recently, both times we have had an amazing stay! The resort is beautiful, with views of the cliffs right outside your front door. The service was great, they even rearranged and brought extra beds into our room to fit the amount of people we wanted. We stayed in the family suite with the pool which was so pretty and relaxing. They were very good about refilling our mini fridge and towels, and arranged a transfer back to the Phuket airport for us. Would definitely recommend staying here!

The location of this resort is unbelievable. Railay Beach and the surrounding areas are really magical. That being said, during the day from 9-5 it's very chaotic with log tail boats bringing visitors from all over. We chose to stay here because we wanted to enjoy the beaches in the early mornings and later evenings which was definitely worth it. The resort itself was great. The room was comfortable and staff were attentive. You are definitely paying for the views and in our opinion it was worth it.

Railay Bay Resort & Spa is a decent hotel for Railay, especially considering that many of the remote-area resorts aren’t on the same level as mainland properties. The location is the highlight, but the hotel is definitely showing its age and would benefit from a renovation. We stayed for two nights and ended up experiencing two different rooms. The first room, 1008, had poor and leaking air conditioning and we also noticed a sewage smell coming from the bathroom at times. We moved to another room in the same category, Room 1001, which was noticeably better. It felt more modern, had stronger AC, an updated bathroom, and far less sewage smell, so the room quality can vary quite a bit. Also the outside jacuzzi could do with updating as not the most inviting! The location of the resort is great, with easy access to Railay West beach and beautiful views. It wasn’t too long of a walk to get around, and the buggy service made getting to reception easier when needed. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the loungers on both nights, which was one of the best parts of the stay. Breakfast was okay overall — a reasonable selection, halal-friendly options, and coffee that was actually decent for Thailand. Staff were friendly throughout our stay, although some had difficulty with English, but they always tried to help. One small downside was that we were advised to check out far earlier than necessary for our ferry to Phi Phi, and we ended up arriving almost an hour too early. Fortunately, there was a shaded spot to wait with a nice view of East Railay, so it wasn’t too bad. Overall, Railay Bay Resort & Spa offers a good location and enjoyable views, but the hotel could use some updating.
