Last week, I had the pleasure of staying at the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor in Cambodia — an experience that exceeded every expectation. This legendary hotel is more than just a place to stay; it is a journey back in time. With its beautifully preserved colonial architecture and serene atmosphere, the property radiates the timeless charm of old Indochina. From the moment of arrival, the service was flawless — attentive yet discreet, warm yet professional. Every member of the staff seemed to embody the essence of true hospitality, anticipating needs before they were expressed. The culinary experience was equally exceptional. Whether it was breakfast on the terrace or dinner under the stars, every meal was a showcase of refinement, flavor, and care. In short, Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor is a rare blend of history, elegance, and impeccable service — a true jewel in Southeast Asia. I would return without hesitation.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Raffles Siem Reap. We took one of their tours to Angkor Wat and the tour and guide was fantastic. We also spent a few days exploring Siem Reap and enjoying the hotel itself. The hotel itself is beautiful. It’s almost 100 years old but has been kept up to date and maintained with attention to detail and care, so it has all the mod cons you need while still keeping its historic charm. But the best thing about this hotel is the staff. So warm and friendly, they make you feel so welcome. We really enjoyed our chats with all the staff and learning about their culture. And the food. Probably the best food we’ve ever had in a hotel. Most hotels are good at a few things, but the Raffles Siem Reap was consistently great for every single meal. To the point we were wondering if there’s anything they couldn’t do well. Fantastic food, fantastic people, fantastic hotel.

My stay at this property was superb. The property itself is beautiful and elegant. All staff is attentive, helpful, personable, and respectful. Since I arrived I was greeted by name by the assistant manager, as well as people from the front desk. Concierge desk was great as well. Mr Pat Sambo arranged for two complementary activities: the monk blessing and the class to make a lotus flower arrangement. Both were incredible experiences, and made my stay much more meaningful. Staff at the Elephant Bar, and the restaurants were also very good. And the breakfast is simply the best hotel breakfast I have had in a long time and I have been staying at comparable luxury properties. Really a great experience. Planning to come back already.

Our experience at Raffles Siem Reap was absolutely flawless! The hotel’s prime location, luxurious old-world charm, and stunning amenities—from the gorgeous pool and lush floral arrangements to the exceptional restaurant, bar, and delightful café with afternoon tea—made our stay unforgettable. We couldn’t have loved it more! The dining options were exceptional, with upscale local dishes and classic favorites, all prepared to perfection. Each meal introduced us to the wonderful flavors of Cambodian cuisine, and everything was fresh, high-quality, and delicious. The service was beyond outstanding—every staff member greeted us with warm smiles, genuine care, and thoughtful recommendations. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, always checking in on our experience and offering helpful suggestions. The little touches, like welcome drinks, a beautiful complimentary scarf, poolside fruits, and snacks with every drink, made us feel truly pampered. The hotel’s ambiance was divine, with refreshing lemongrass-scented corridors adding to the luxurious atmosphere. A special shout-out to Chanty, whose kindness and attentiveness touched our hearts. She handled all our reservations with grace and made us feel so welcomed. Considering the incredible quality, service, and surprisingly affordable pricing for food and drinks, we couldn’t recommend Raffles Siem Reap more highly. This is a must-stay for anyone visiting the city!

For the final night of our Siem Reap journey, I chose to stay at the Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor—an elegant finale to the trip. This stately French colonial building stands proudly next to the Angkor National Museum, and its striking presence had already caught our attention multiple times during previous days as we passed by en route to Angkor Wat. While it’s located about 1.5 kilometers from the lively Pub Street area, the slight distance provides a peaceful and secluded atmosphere—an escape from the bustle of the city. I was graciously upgraded to a Landmark Room with a pool view, complete with a balcony overlooking the gardens and the swimming pool—a thoughtful gesture from the hotel. The room itself was styled in classic Southeast Asian colonial fashion: vintage in design, but with well-maintained, modern amenities that made our stay comfortable. Service throughout our stay was attentive and warm. Check-in was handled with care—we weren’t left waiting idly but were instead offered a refreshing welcome drink and a fragrant cold towel while seated at the lobby bar. Upon learning that we planned to watch the sunset later that day, the staff proactively offered suggestions on timing. Whether it was the doormen or the staff at the restaurant and bar, everyone was courteous, cheerful, and always ready to assist. Amusingly, I had trouble using the room key and had to ask the staff to help me open the door three times—they were always kind about it. For dining, I tried the “1932” set menu at the hotel’s signature restaurant, themed around the golden era of Cambodian royal Khmer cuisine. The menu creatively blended French culinary techniques with traditional Khmer ingredients—an intriguing and memorable experience. Due to a heavy rainstorm, the restaurant was relatively quiet that evening, allowing us to enjoy the serene and refined atmosphere. Meanwhile, a pianist performed in the lobby bar, evoking the charm of an old film scene. All in all, our stay at Raffles was delightful in every respect. Many thanks to the hotel staff for their warm and thoughtful service throughout stay. And I look forward to returning the next time I visit Siem Reap.
