We recently had the pleasure of hosting our conference at the Porto Platanias Resort Hotel, and I am compelled to share our wonderful experience. From the onset, the hotel staff demonstrated excellent coordination and collaboration in planning our event, ensuring that every detail was meticulously arranged to meet our specifications. The facilities at Porto Platanias are in superb condition, offering a comfortable and conducive environment for both professional gatherings and leisure. The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and flexible, adeptly accommodating our needs and constraints, which was no small feat considering the size of our group. One of the highlights of our stay was the Cretan night event, which everyone greatly enjoyed. It was not only fun but also gave us a taste of local culture complemented by high-quality food that was consistently impressive throughout our stay. The hotel is also family-friendly, which was appreciated by attendees who brought their families along. The overall atmosphere of the hotel made everyone feel welcome and well-cared for. I must commend the hotel administration for their exceptional efforts in assisting us. Their dedication and professionalism made our conference a resounding success. We are all very grateful for the hospitality shown and highly recommend Porto Platanias Resort Hotel for both professional and personal visits to Crete.

Disappointing All-Inclusive Experience - Not Worth It! I recently stayed at Porto Platanias in Crete, and it was an utterly disappointing experience. Despite paying for an all-inclusive package, what we received was far from it. The food was cheap, repetitive, and lacked variety. The drinks, including sodas and alcoholic beverages, were of the lowest quality possible. To our surprise, the water slides for kids required additional payment, and the complimentary sunbeds at the beach were only free until 10 AM. After that, you had to pay, which seemed like a bad joke. Drinks on the beach were also not included, contrary to the all-inclusive promise. The rooms were subpar, not even meeting a three-star standard. Cleanliness was a major issue right from check-in and persisted throughout our stay. Housekeeping was below average, and the overall room condition was disappointing. This hotel is not at all family-friendly and is definitely not suitable for young children. It feels like a tourist trap rather than a genuine hospitality experience. Save your money and go somewhere else, especially if you are traveling with children. Staying here – it’s not worth the frustration and disappointment.

We had the best week last week at Porto Platanias Beach Resort. Our two girls, 4 and 7 had such a great time at the mini club, it was a sanctuary for our red haired girl who often needed a break from the sun. The animation team were so trustworthy and provided so much fun for the girls all week! Top marks to them! The location of the hotel couldn’t be better and the food was great and varied. Great service, the rooms were cleaned every day and we were always met with a smile by all members of the staff. We will come again! We have been home for two days and our girls are already asking when we’re going back 👌😊😍!

Nice holiday resort. There are many pool areas separated by sections of the hotel and direct access to the beach with the hotel's own sun loungers. The main restaurant offers a fresh selection of daily changing dishes. For drinks or a snack by the pool, there is an app that you can use to order something directly to your lounger. The rooms could be a little more modern, but they are clean and contain everything you need.

Where you get your room in the hotel matters. A lot. At first when we arrived we got rooms that didn't look anything like the pictures in the hotel's website. Our sea view room was on the ground floor with the smallest balcony of all sea view rooms, and the actual sea view was mainly blocked by a restaurant and parked cars. The craziest thing however was, the room literally didn't have a single power outlet. Where are you supposed to charge your devices? Only if you disconnected the lamp on the table, you got one, but however with two people travelling, very inconvenient. And so low and below standard from a hotel that's supposed to have 5 stars. It's 2024, do better! The other people in our group had also very average room, same thing with power outlets, and a view to the road/ ATM machine. Not very fancy. Luckily we managed to get our rooms changed the next day, thanks to the two very nice and helpful receptionists, Lorena & Katerina. These rooms were on a completely different level. Modern, many power outlets, bigger balconies & even kitchenettes. They were worth the 5 stars. Hotel area of course with the 5 pools and many restaurants is very great, and the location is amazing close to the center and directly situated on the beach. So for us things luckily worked out well in the end and it ended up being worth the money, but had we stayed in the first rooms we were given, this review would be completely different.. Another thing the hotel could look out for are the cats that hang around in the hotel area everyday. A 5 star hotel certainly has the resources for taking care of them, it shoudn't be left to tourists like us to feed them etc.. Even if you didn't choose to have cats in your hotel area, you could still have the decency of showing them some respect.. Just something fellow animal lovers should know.
