We recently had the pleasure of hosting our conference at the Porto Platanias Resort Hotel, and I am compelled to share our wonderful experience. From the onset, the hotel staff demonstrated excellent coordination and collaboration in planning our event, ensuring that every detail was meticulously arranged to meet our specifications.
The facilities at Porto Platanias are in superb condition, offering a comfortable and conducive environment for both professional gatherings and leisure. The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and flexible, adeptly accommodating our needs and constraints, which was no small feat considering the size of our group.
One of the highlights of our stay was the Cretan night event, which everyone greatly enjoyed. It was not only fun but also gave us a taste of local culture complemented by high-quality food that was consistently impressive throughout our stay.
The hotel is also family-friendly, which was appreciated by attendees who brought their families along. The overall atmosphere of the hotel made everyone feel welcome and well-cared for.
I must commend the hotel administration for their exceptional efforts in assisting us. Their dedication and professionalism made our conference a resounding success. We are all very grateful for the hospitality shown and highly recommend Porto Platanias Resort Hotel for both professional and personal visits to Crete.

Nice holiday resort. There are many pool areas separated by sections of the hotel and direct access to the beach with the hotel's own sun loungers.
The main restaurant offers a fresh selection of daily changing dishes.
For drinks or a snack by the pool, there is an app that you can use to order something directly to your lounger.
The rooms could be a little more modern, but they are clean and contain everything you need.

It is barely a 3 star hotel, I cannot call it a 5 stars. Small rooms, old furniture, the bathroom was dirty and the room floor full o sand. They clean the rooms daily but it is very supperficial.
The front desk people are very rude and unfriendly. I paid for a pool/farden view room and they gave us a street view room, which prevented us fron sleeping all night. Porto Platanias is very noisy at night, beware of that. We asked to change our room and they showed us a room which was poorly illuminated, stinky, with no windows in the sleeping area, next to a pool. I refused it and kept the loudy street view room. They did not offer us other rooms, saying they are fully booked.
The outside area is nice, they have a kids corner area, the resort was cleaned daily. They have multiple pools, but it is overcrowded and people book their sunbeds in the morning even if the hotel says it is forbidden, leaving no free spots for the others.
The food was ok-ish, the breakfast was the same daily - eggs, bacon, pancakes, yogurt, porridge, a mix of local fruits. We had dinner included as well, it had multiple varieties from sea food, fish, pork, lamb, beef and local dishes, but the salads corner was not once, but at least 3 times gone bad, having a rotten taste. Probably they reuse the remaining from the previous breakfast/lunch.
At least the restaurant has a nice view to the sea.
If you come here with the kids, the beach area is not very child friendly. The beach is very narrow and crowded, it can barely host 6 rows of sunbeds. 10eurs 2 sunbeds and one umbrella.
The beach is full of gravel and the entry in the sea as well. At around 20 meters from the hotel there is a pipe crossing the beach area to the sea, probably somebody dumps waste water in the sea through that pipe.
I recommend you take the bus to Agia Marina instead.
Overall, I wouldn't chose this hotel again.

Disappointing All-Inclusive Experience - Not Worth It!
I recently stayed at Porto Platanias in Crete, and it was an utterly disappointing experience. Despite paying for an all-inclusive package, what we received was far from it. The food was cheap, repetitive, and lacked variety. The drinks, including sodas and alcoholic beverages, were of the lowest quality possible.
To our surprise, the water slides for kids required additional payment, and the complimentary sunbeds at the beach were only free until 10 AM. After that, you had to pay, which seemed like a bad joke. Drinks on the beach were also not included, contrary to the all-inclusive promise.
The rooms were subpar, not even meeting a three-star standard. Cleanliness was a major issue right from check-in and persisted throughout our stay. Housekeeping was below average, and the overall room condition was disappointing.
This hotel is not at all family-friendly and is definitely not suitable for young children. It feels like a tourist trap rather than a genuine hospitality experience. Save your money and go somewhere else, especially if you are traveling with children.
Staying here – it’s not worth the frustration and disappointment.

The hotel is great. The rooms are clean. The food is great. And the service is perfect.
Second time i've been there and i've totally enjoyed my vacation.
The hotel is right next to the beach and they have many pools.
And the best of the best is the Animation Team!!! They suggest good sporty activities and night shows. The team is very nice, they have a lot of energy and good motivation.
You are never bored during the day. You can always find somethig to do thanks to the animations.
