A very well managed and maintained property. The hotel room were modern and functional. Breakfast selection was ample with a lot of variety.
The Thai evening buffet on Fridays is the best way to sample the local flavors and watch a few rounds of Thai boxing. The major plus of the hotel is their lovely staff who will go the extra mile so that you have the most enjoyable holiday. Would definitely recommend the hotel.
On the suggestions side the pools would be a bit more enjoyable if the water would be cooler. Some of the dinner buffet offerings (Grill Buffet and Carvery Buffet) could be uplifted. They did not offer the same quality as the Thai evening Buffet.

Marriott elite staff has been very helpful and great overall. The entire service and housekeeping team go above and beyond to make your stay perfect and unforgettable.
I do not recommend this hotel for a relaxing and quiet couples retreat. It is great for large families with children.
This hotel is a full service / all inclusive resort and it shows. Lots of TUI package deal tourist here. Although sun benches are not supposed to be reserved by guests with towels, stating around 9am you’ll find it difficult to get a decent spot. Staff is not following thru with the removal of towels and items as stated on signs at every umbrella/ bench.
Hotel can be loud with lots of children in the pools, running down hallways or playing in the activity areas. There are also quite a few private events going on like gatherings and weddings.
The beach In front of the hotel is secluded, but not ideal for swimming. Low tide exposes a vast reef with sharp rocks and corals making it unsuitable for swimming without risking injuries.
Overall we had a good time here and the hotel is excellent if you know what you get into and if it is what you are looking for.

My family and I have been coming here since 2012, every year, and we brought some friends too. We like this resort very much. The beach is beautiful, the food, amazing service. All very nice. But what you need to improve are the availability of beds in the rooms. Me my husband and my daughter 20 years, it’s uncomfortable to sleep 2 people in a double bed. And it’s to expensive to get two rooms. You should have the option of having rooms with a queen bad and double, or king and double, or king, or double and a single bad. Thank you for your attention. Really exceptional experience at Marriott Merlin Beach. We enjoyed our stay from arrival to departure. Every single one of the employees was incredibly friendly and helpful and we felt truly welcome. For our family it was great to enjoy the different dining options including pool bar and swimming pool in general but also be close to a very natural experience in the sea where we could watch fish and other species directly in the shallow water. Please keep up the good work and we can highly recommend this place if you want to combine a very good resort experience with an amazing glimpse into sea life.

We have just spent 6 nights and loved every moment. We are a family of 4 with two adult daughters and booked two ocean view rooms. The rooms were spacious, well maintained and comfortable. It was great to have the free water each day and reusable drink bottles and a handy beach bag to use to take to the pool and beach each day. The staff were fabulous and the food options extensive and very nice and affordable. We loved the location and the fact it was away from Patong and Karon and did not feel the need to actually leave the resort at all. The beach is great and water very clear. Highly recommend this resort.
