We really enjoyed this hotel, although sometimes the food could do with being a little warmer, especially the outside snack area at lunchtime. The evening entertainment leaves a bit to be desired too. A little lacklustre for me. There's a lovely entertainment room downstairs with stage and lighting and bar, but it wasn't utilised whilst we were there. They set up a very small gazebo by the pool bar for the evening "entertainment". Mostly low budget singers... no offence if you were one of them. The indoor area would have been way better. And they really need to increase their budget for evening shows... just my personal opinion. I'd expect more from a five star hotel, to be honest.

It was our first time booking an all-inclusive hotel and it was very much a relaxing experience, knowing that you did not have to pay for every food and drinks. Very hospitable staff, easy walk to the beach. Overall, great experience.

The rooms and hotel although very clean, but looked a little tired and in need of decoration. The food was OK, but compared to other AI hotels, I felt there wasn't as much choice. The drinks again were OK. However, the cocktails were poor. The hotel is in a good location with great views overlooking the sea. With a taxi to the marina in Funchal costing ten euros. If you're a sun worshipper, you will be very disappointed. The sun loungers had to be the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced and nothing like the ones shown in the brochure with adequate padding. If I had to sum up the hotel in one line, it would be. It was OK, but it's a hotel I would never revisit.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Pestana Royal, and it was a wonderful experience overall. The hotel's location is fantastic, nestled conveniently close to major attractions and public transportation, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. The service was impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff who went out of their way to ensure our comfort. The amenities provided were top-notch, including a well-maintained pool, an equipped fitness center, and a delicious breakfast buffet that offered a wide variety of options. The room itself was clean providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. However, the only drawback was the outdated bed and some of the furniture, which could use an upgrade to match the otherwise elegant decor of the hotel. Despite this minor inconvenience, it did not significantly detract from the overall experience. In conclusion, Pestana Royal offers a superb stay with excellent service and a prime location. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit the area, with the hope that they will consider updating the furniture to enhance the guest experience even further.

I really enjoyed my stay at Pestana Royal hotel. We stayed in a suite with ocean view. The rooms were very clean. This tel is very well managed and maintained. All inclusive buffet breakfast and diners were very good with good variety of food. There is live music with self serving wine and beer that will keep you happy. The resort has swimming pool, jacuzzi, spa, mini golf, tennis court, game room, too much to list. The hotel is located right next to the beach. The hotel manager, Karina Merias was very attentive and nice to the visitors. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. I will highly recommend this hotel to all my friends and family. I will definitely come back again.
