I have had the most wonderful second stay at this hotel. Lina in housekeeping was so hard working and always greeted us every morning with a smile and a good morning. All of the cleaning, maintenance and housekeeping term worked so hard in the background keeping everything clean and tidy and in an excellent state of repair. The staff on the reception desk and in the restaurant were amazing - Rosan in particular who remembered us from our last visit 2 years ago. There is a pianist or guitarist playing every morning during breakfast. There is a large choice of food in the restaurant. I loved the fact that whole blocks of butter were laid out rather than individual portions in plastic. The bedroom was large, beautiful and quiet. The beds were large and very comfortable for me as I like a firm bed. Thank you team Pestana Royal! ❤ Cant wait to see you all again next year!

Large spacious room with balcony, small fridge & microwave, with sea and garden views. We were All inclusive and the food was plentiful and always a good selection, and waiters were quick to top up your glass. There was a good entertainment programme. There was lift access down to the beach and from there there were pleasant walks along the promenade to Funchal and to Camera de Lobos (weather permitting) both around an hour away. The hotel ran a free shuttle bus to Funchal twice daily which was handy. The bathroom was a little dated, and the sauna in the spa wasn’t very warm but we had a really enjoyable holiday.

We stayed at this hotel for 10 nights. We enjoyed our stay. Positives were, really nice staff, everywhere clean, food ok. The only negatives we found, was in the bathroom, shower is attached to the taps, and can be hard to gage temperature. Think it could be updated! We would definitely return here! Had a lovely holiday!

We spent a lovely week in February at this all inclusive hotel. Food was excellent, fresh, tasty and a great variety. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Hotel very clean with rooms tidied daily. Location also excellent. Free bus into Funchal and lovely coastal walks from the hotel.

Nice Hotel, they offer all inclusive and we decided to try it out. The breakfast , lunch and dinner are buffet. I saw food from the breakfast buffet on the lunch buffet and the food is not good. I brought it to the attention of the reception staff on the first day but they didn’t appear to have any interest, they may have heard it all before. I then proceeded to raise the issue with management and explained i have paid for this upfront and given a choice I would prefer to eat elsewhere. They explained a refund for the food element was out of the question. They suggested that I try one of their other hotels in the group and arranged a taxi to and from the hotel to try the food there and we did. I was expecting a follow up enquiry as to how things went, but i guess I was the furthest thing from their minds. We stayed five nights, paid a premium price in comparison to other hotels available in the area at time of booking. In my opinion the issue i had could have been resolved but nobody cared.
