Couldn't recommend this hotel enough. I would come back in a heartbeat. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, no question or anything was too much for them and they would go out of their way to help and make your experience as good as possible. Someone even booked and arranged our rental car and did the process for us which I thought was brilliant. The entire hotel was clean, well presented and we loved our sea view/balcony. Food was good again with a nice setting and the indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam/sauna combo was lovely. Thoroughly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Pestana Promenade Hotel. The hotel has the most gorgeous sea views, and the pool area is surrounded by beautiful plants, creating a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. The town centre is approximately a 40-minute walk away, and strolls along the promenade were particularly enjoyable. All of the staff were incredibly kind and friendly, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Delilah was especially supportive and gave us some excellent recommendations for activities in the area. The buffet breakfast offered a fresh and varied selection, with the option of being able to eat outside while enjoying the stunning sea views. The only minor downside to our room was occasional noise from furniture being moved in the room above, although we appreciate this is not always avoidable. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend this hotel and very much look forward to returning again soon.

We had a wonderful stay at the Pestana Promenade Hotel. The location of the hotel is excellent. You can easily reach the city center by public bus in about 20 minutes, or by taxi for a maximum of around 10 euros, which makes getting around very convenient. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always helpful whenever we needed assistance. We truly felt well taken care of throughout our stay. We booked a room with a sea view and were very satisfied with its size, cleanliness, and overall comfort. While some parts of the furnishings are a bit outdated and could benefit from renovation or renewal, the room was well maintained and clean. Both the breakfast buffet and the dinner buffet exceeded our expectations and pleasantly surprised us with their quality and variety. This was our first stay at this hotel, but definitely not our last. We would happily return and highly recommend it.

Pros: 1. Great location with easy access to Funchal, the airport and with glorious sea views. 2. Great breakfast with multiple options to suit all travellers including gluten free. 3. Indoor and outdoor pools are both very clean. 4. Reception staff very helpful and will go above and beyond to help. 5. Very comfortable pillows. 6. Hotel is impeccably clean. Cons: 1. Rooms ourdated: lots are lapsed timeshares that havent been updated. 2. Showers are often cold or tepid. 3. Happy hour prices for drinks aren't clear. Avoid.

Stayed for eleven nights and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Staff in reception are lovely and sorted everything out efficiently. Had a meal in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pool gardens are lovely and quiet and beautifully landscaped. There is a very nice heated indoor pool as well. The location is quite well placed. If you are a good walker, then it's possible to walk into central Funchal. If not, then numerous buses pass by and stop by the hotel.
