We stayed at Casino Park during the first week of June as a couple in their early 30s with no kids. The hotel is huge, nicely decorated and kept clean. It’s also in a great location in terms of Funchal centre and surrounding bars/restaurants. Our room was spacious, quiet and well presented. The only way the room could be improved in our opinion is with a better shower head, but even so, it wasn’t bad at all. Breakfast was great for a buffet, and Zahed on omelettes did a fantastic job daily. The pool areas are spacious and very quiet, we never struggled to get a sunbed and it was pretty empty most days. The indoor pool in the spa is really nice too, but the hours of operation for the sauna/steam rooms are a bit odd (only available first thing or last thing). We didn’t have much interaction with staff but when we did, they were polite and helpful. The hotel doesn’t do much in way of evening entertainment and it’s limited to a few days a week. We were able to watch one of the June firework displays from the hotel grounds on the Saturday. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Funchal BUT a word of warning about the flights - we had a nightmare landing and taking off due to the wind as the airport has to close for safety reasons. This is a very regular occurrence and flights are often diverted/delayed/cancelled - our flight there had to be diverted but luckily was able to land later that evening and we nearly didn’t make it home due to the wind again. This of course can’t be helped, but would put us off returning to Madeira again

Beautiful hotel with great facilities. Spa, indoor pool, outdoor pools, breakfast area and all shared areas are cleverly designed, well maintained and clean. The staff is lovely and it’s the type of hotel where no one says “no”, they clearly have a 5 star mentality. Breakfast was varied enough, omelettes made on the spot, fresh exotic fruit, Madeira specific foods to try as well as the normal Mediterranean breakfast items. The rooms absolutely need renovation, which I believe they are undergoing at the moment. Bathroom and room itself were not perfect, but they were cleaned and tidied every day. However, with the many many things you can do on this gorgeous island and even in the hotel, you will probably not be spending that much time in the room. Location is perfect for all activities. We didn’t have a car, but had four active days out of 7 and didn’t necessarily miss it. Maybe not a truly luxurious 5 star hotel, but a strong 4 star for the price you pay. I would absolutely come back!

Really nice and clean hotel. Very nice staff. Breakfast was the same every day but very nice food. Stayed here for a few days and would highly recommend it. Couple of draw backs being the gym facilities are not great, not much variety. The swimming pools closed at 6pm, could be extended a hour or so. The foos-ball table needs updating, its very old and unplayable. The location is very good. All in all a very good stay.

Absolutely lovely Hotel with exceptional staff. First stay at the PC but I can guarantee, it won’t be the last. We visit Madeira every year and normally stay in their sister hotel. However we decided to give the PC a try and were delighted from arrival until departure. The hotel facilities throughout are excellent, matched with the service provided by all the staff. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is too much trouble for them. They set out to make your holiday a memorable experience, and they certainly exceed expectations. I am already planning to return by the end of the year. The hotel is cashless, this the only options are pay by card or charge to room. The later needs to be reviewed, as someone charged there drinks to my room. I was asked to sign a slip, luckily I proved I was elsewhere when the transaction took place. During my stay, at not point was I asked for room identification. I shall no longer have a ‘open account’ when I return because of this issue.

This is our 18th time visiting and the service has been great every time. All the staff are very accommodating and attentive. The pool staff especially have been amazing every time we’ve come down to enjoy a bit of lunch. Teresa always comes to have a chat when we are visiting and is very welcoming. The food at the Pestana is delicious and we love their breakfast selection. The rooms have some areas that need attention ie fridge not working but I’m sure that will be attended to. All in all it’s a lovely package hence us returning so many times 😁
