The friendly staff went above and beyond, ensuring our stay was nothing short of magical. The service was impeccable, and the villa was luxurious with breathtaking landscapes. I visited Patina with my parents, husband and 6 month old son. It was our 4th time in the Maldives and we chose Patina because it was a speedboat away from Male and the hotel images looked great. Out of all the resorts I visited this is the one I won't be returning to because: - We booked a beach villa with a pool and requested it to be on the 'private' side of the island, not the lagoon side as we didnt want to be facing the pier and other rooms. We ended up getting a room on the lagoon side right next to the beach bar (rooms 102 and 103). Not only could you not see the beach from our villa (only greenery which they landscaped for privacy) but we barely had a 'private' beach as it was right next to veli beach bar with people lounging in gazebos outside our room. Plus it was near the jetty which was very unfortunate. Bad start to our trip, we asked to change rooms and ended up getting a room further down the lagoon the next day. We lost 1.5 days trying to settle in but not being able to unpack. Plus with a 6 month old baby this was total chaos. - The island is poorly configured, there are about 9 beach pool villas in our category on the other side of the island. They definitely use those villas for marketing images so do not expect to get the amazing views or rooms you may see in images! If your'e hoping to wake up in the morning and look at the beautiful ocean, their beach villas aren't for you. Unlike other resorts I have stayed at, there is no where on the island where you will see uninterrupted views. Patina is surrounded by other islands (including the Ritz Carlton (whose over water villa guests I feel bad for as their view is Patina!)). - Make your restaurant reservations in advance as the main restaurants get booked up quick since the island is open to visitors. I found this quite annoying and hard to 'go with the flow'. What makes their hotel exceptional is the people and service. Except for the reservations and room issues there is nothing they will not do to make your stay more comfortable. They cater really well for kids - the room came equipped with everything I requested and more. The food options are extensive (12 restaurants!) and I'd say the best food I've eaten in the Maldives. The island has a great vibe too. Breakfast is an absolute treat and shout out to Dhaanu Thaapa who made us the best veggie noodle soups every morning with a smile on his face. He might be the only reason I return. Ultimately, a 10/10 hotel on a 4/10 island. I'll stay in any Patina hotel in a city in a heartbeat but will not be returning to their Maldives resort. It doesn't offer me the serene, private and idyllic Maldives experience I know and craved.

My stay at patina maldives exceeded all my expectations, i’ve stayed in many five stars and luxurious hotels, but patina was above them all. I don’t know where to start, the cleanliness of the resort and villas was unbeatable, they do house keeping twice a day, providing complementary beverages and sweets. Paying attention to the smallest details. The villas are amazingly furnished, everyone there is very friendly and welcoming, the food at the restaurants is very delicious and have a variety of options. Patina take a very good care of their guests, before we arrived they ask about any food preferences and wether to provide alcoholic or non alcoholic beverages, and after we leave they send us a message to make sure that we made it home safe, how nice is that!! once we reached the airport, a hotel representative was waiting for us, he took our luggage and escorted us to the transfer boat, “Fubu” our assistance did the check in at our villa it was very easy and a flexible process. And the check out was done at the villa as well,, There are bikes for every villa, the swimming pools and the beach are beautifully maintained!! Every corner of the resort was amazing!! A special thanks to “Fubu” for all his assistance, and quick responses to whatever we needed, he really made our stay even more enjoyable. And also Akram who assisted us at the airport till he checked in our luggage, he was very nice and friendly thank you very much. don’t think twice about choosing patina, i will definitely choose it again and again.
