From the start of our holiday right up to the end we were 100% looked after by every single member of the Meliá team. Special mention to the Graciosa girls: Tati, Nita,Ariana, Khadi and Gabriela who were outstanding in their service at the restaurant. The young lady who served in the outside bar in the daytime was excellent too plus Bostian and Rayco made our stay enjoyable Food was amazing and always very varied and tasty . Drinks and cocktails were premium and never disappointed. The entertainment was really good and activities in the day ( I did glass fusion) were spot on Definitely recommend and we will return ( we are four caterers so to please us all was an amazing thing to achieve!) Our first visit here and we really can't fault it. The hotel is very unique with its cacti and palm gardens and balconies. The staff are extremely helpful. The food is delicious and although there are speciality restaurants we found the main buffet style for lunch and dinner more than sufficient. We did upgrade to Reserve where you have use of a more intimate breakfast area, lounge and pool which was quieter for us. Being Lanzarote there is always a breeze so early February it's useful to have a light jacket or cardigan. Hopefully this won't be our only visit.

This was our second visit to this hotel and we chose to spend a little more and book a Reserve package. We could not fault our holiday, the staff, the room, the bars and restaurants were all of top quality - so we will definitely be back. However our experience on arrival to the hotel left a lot to be desired. First, our Private Transfer could not find any staff to welcome us and take our luggage; Second; because we'd been before we managed to find the Reserve Reception ourselves but when we got there there was one gentleman (not Reserve Staff) who told us that all staff were in a meeting and not available. He was able to book us in, put our armbands on and then flog us an upgrade to a Garden Villa which we were not interested in. No other information was offered (not even the important App - he didn't seem to know how to do it) other than there would be someone to take us to our room and to wait in the lounge. A young lady arrived and took us to our room and told us that it was her last day. I am told by others that had a 'proper welcome' that free trips and other offers were made available. The Reserve Reception experience was the only thing that let this holiday down especially as you pay extra for it.

Just returned from our fourth stay at the Melia Paradisus (formerly the Salinas). Everything was still fabulous. Hotel is gorgeous. Rooms big and comfortable. Bars and restaurants excellent (could do with more staff in each area, they are flat out busy!). Pool area amazing. No silly sunbed reserving (no issues at all last week.. worst weather we've ever had!). Location is great. Quiet area but only a stroll the the Square where all the action is, shops, bars etc. The only criticism we have is the check in and out! Lost a star for this. Our welcome was non existent. The receptionist couldn't be more visibility bored! He yawned, sneezed. No 'hello have you been here before ' or 'welcome'. Just about told us where everything was. Very poor welcome. Check out was just as bad! Asked for our room number, cut off our band and that was it!! Not even 'hope you enjoyed your stay'! Totally disappointed. There are several Guest Relations staff wandering about all day, very pleasant. Only one spoke to us, he realised we've been several times before and asked why we were not Melia Members? Simply because we've never been asked or informed about it. It appears Melia Members and. Retreat visitors (posh bit) get superior treatment. They are shown around the place and treated much better. With this in mind, we will not be returning to any Melia hotel. Such a shame that when First Impressions count....we were badly let down. I would recommend the hotel, but if you can afford it, book The Retreat 😉
