5 Stars. Resort is beautifully kept. 2 stars. I booked a Superior Balcony Twin Room. It’s described as 32m2 with 2 queen size beds. Depending on what you consider a queen size, for European standard these are ‚single beds‘ only. And the 32m2 feel really really tiny. The balcony offered nothing other than a laundry string. I had to call the reception and request a table and 2 chairs to even be able to ‚relax‘ on the balcony. 1 handle on the balcony doors was broken, so one could only go out through 1 half, let alone the house maids having to manoeuvre the balcony furniture. Rooms are very noisy. You can hear your neighbours talk as if they stand next to you and not to mention the doors opening or trolleys passing. Aircon at night very loud. 4 stars. However the rooms look really nice. 3 stars. Pool area offers a lot. But all impacted by the nasty smell coming from the beach, which has been covered with seaweed mountains for days making it impossible to go swimming let alone put one foot on the sand. No one seems to be in charge of keeping the beach clean, guest friendly.

Fabulous team and surroundings. Nice food. Main big pool area across the road but 2 lovely men will flag down traffic to get you across the street. Pools are really nice. Beach is small I front of the hotel area but you can walk further up to an area which has more white sand. Rooms were very well kept. Breakfast was lovely and location was great. Some parking for cars too. Has a small gym a games room for the kids too with a pool table. Slide on one of the pools too. There is also a pool near the bedrooms too but shaded due to its location. Still lovely to use. Would defo saty there again.thanks to all the team there..they were so friendly.

The staff here are all extraordinary - very kind and friendly people, who will go the extra mile for you. They remember your name, and always checking if you need anything. The rooms are beautiful, so big and comfy, and very clean. Lots of mirrors, towels, robes, plug sockets and a separate sofa with tv area to relax in. And cute towel decoration too! We had a couple of issues with ours though - first night, our bathroom flooded due to an issue with the drains but this was quickly resolved by by maintenance and the second night our air conditioning wouldn’t work, this was fixed the next day and we were temporarily moved to another room to sleep. Although frustrating, we appreciate it was two breakdowns out of control and the manager did email us with an apology and solution quickly. The pool was really good, very clean and always plenty of comfortable sun-beds available with towels. We enjoyed relaxing here! Breakfast was great, lots of selection and all kept hot. I’d recommend including breakfast in your stay as that’s worth the money. The club lounge food was nice, although some of it cold even under the heat lamp it was nice to have that option. The location is good, 7 eleven is next door for any snacks you may want for your room and a 10-15 minute walk to Lamai night market and the bars. One thing to note is the hotel and pool/restaurant (Edgewater) are split by a busy road but there are always security staff there helping you to the cross the road who take the safety very seriously. Overall, it’s a nice hotel which I think a little overpriced (especially the restaurant!) but I would recommend a visit - we done a 3 night break here in between our travels which was enough.

We stayed with 2 small kids in Koh Samui and been to Sheraton as well as Outrigger. I must say Outrigger really exceeded expectations. First of all the location : Lamai on the main street/beach - the positioning of the rooms, promixity to the breakfast, kids play area, pools and main street is great. Rooms ( we stayed at 253 ) which is club lounge access, what a room - really have feeling of a beach /hawaian type of the room. Staff - amazing honesty ! Club lounge great - Pool - the guys who are helping you to cross the street great and kids club ladies are top notch. I would suggest for breakfast to have a huge pot of cooked milk oats and toppings next to it - this would be nice addition ( right now they have small portions oats in the fridge which can be better ) Really relaxed holiday we had - they have full 7 days a week tons of activities for adults and kids, and the location is great for laundry, 7 eleven, etc.

We spent nearly two weeks at the OUTRIGGER Koh Samui Beach Resort in mid‑February 2026, and I can recommend it without hesitation. The hotel has a lovely open layout that lets in a natural breeze, which is a real bonus in the hot climate. The buildings look great and nothing spoils the views or the overall atmosphere. A huge thank you to all the staff - from the person who helped us with our luggage to the kitchen team, servers, and reception. Everyone was kind, helpful, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. We stayed in a garden‑view room. I was initially worried it might overlook bushes or a service area, but I was very wrong. The balcony faces a beautiful patch of jungle behind the hotel, where you can watch squirrels, birds and enjoy the natural sounds of the local flora and fauna. Breakfast was delicious and prepared to a high standard. It’s served from 6:30 to 10:30, giving you plenty of flexibility, and the restaurant is very spacious so it’s easy to find a table. You may have noticed that the road separates the hotel from the beach, which was a concern for us at first. However, there are always two friendly staff members helping guests cross safely. It’s quick and easy, so there’s nothing to worry about. All the pools were clean and large enough to relax in. The deepest is 1.8m, and there are several suitable for younger children. The poolside restaurant serves great food, and there are plenty of drinks, ice creams and shakes. Prices are higher than what you’d pay outside the hotel, but that’s normal and understandable. As an alternative, there are two 7‑Eleven stores within a five‑minute walk and at least two local restaurants serving very good Thai food at excellent prices. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for a family holiday. It feels safe, well looked after, and you won’t come across any dodgy behaviour. We had a fantastic stay.
