We just came from occidental over all I would rate 2/5. Bad experiences 1.After arriving at the reception with baby it took 2 hours to check in and already other customer who already checked in screaming that room was dirty. 2. We got bed bug bites asked to change room and the receptionist without any explanation gave us a room which is too far from everything and a degraded room. After mentioning it he gave a room which is too small and no view We paid extra for beach view. 3. Room service was too bad asked for hot water for baby and no one showed up. After toilet clogged waited for 3 hours to get a person made multiple calls to room service. 4. Requested for information about getting a birthday cake. They didn’t help and just reverted us to multiple departments in the end no answer from any. 5. Don’t be surprised the staff suddenly jumps from one balcony to others without any intimation. We didn’t feel safe Good experience 1. Food was good 2. Activities were good .Something is happening all the time. 3. Had all facilities inside.Shopping ,food, clothing , pool, drinks etc

Not enough words to say how impressed I was with that resort. The place is amazing. The beach was amazing.Cleaned every morning.The pool's very well maintained. My granddaughter had the opportunity to use the spa.5 or 6 girls were doing her hair.That's how great they are I will definitely come back and recommend this resortThe people are great. The food is excellent and it's one of the best experiences I've had in Caribbean resorts. For all the people that have complained it's Bologna. They just want to say something. So please ignore all the negative garbage.

Hey this is a real review. Family of 5 went for a week October 2025 Very good resort beautiful and very hard working service given there. From butler to cleaning service. Beautiful pools, beautiful beach (but strong waves) Food is great but repetitive. Be careful from food poisoning. Best part is no other resort almost has plastic cups and plastic plates which is great. Great shows But could start earlier. Like a normal places starts 8pm they start at 9 30pm Wifi is excellent Pools are beautiful but should have limits of swimming after hours like all resorts also should be cleaned during those hours. Bars are excellent all around no long lines. Rooms are standard with balcony but thin walls but it's okay. Paco the monkey is wondering around very cute. Check in takes time. Great entertainment for kids, very family friendly environment but a lot of butts shown (lol carribean style) asked for connectimg rooms but got side to side. Overall great resort for Barcelo. A little smaller lobby then usual. Great Did not for the first time use the spa because it didn't look high end as others do.. Cool gym Cool kids area Nice rock climbing Very nice fire show. Swimming pool is 4ft unlike most resorts which are about 3ft. Which makes a difference if you have kids. Wanted to give 3 stars because of food poisoning but had a great time very friendly place. Beautiful beach walk to the left like 20 minutes you will see amazing big fishes close to shore. Excellent service in this resort. 2 giant pools Price is great.

I was very excited about coming to Punta Cana after hearing so many great things. Unfortunately, the experience has been disappointing. Check-in took over an hour. While the employees are very friendly — which is the only reason I’m giving this place two stars — the overall quality is far below expectations. Starting with the room: there are broken drawers and even towels with holes in them. The food quality has also been extremely poor — not appealing, lacking flavor, and frankly tasteless. I wish I didn’t have to be this honest, but it’s the truth. Overall, I am completely disappointed and dissatisfied with the quality and taste of the food and the condition of the room.

This resort is definitely not a 4 star. I would rate it a 1 or 2 star. Please do yourself a favor and go stay somewhere else. There are way too many options in Punta Cana for you to stay at this subpar quality resort. For starters, this was supposed to be a very special trip for my children, a gift as well as the very first trip to the Dominican Republic. Upon arrival, the ladies at the front desk were rude and even forgot to write the number of my room on the envelope which cause me to go back and forth to get this information. Second, there is suppose to be 6 restaurants here, well getting a reservation is impossible because they only have 3 working restaurants. In addition, the furniture is falling apart and has graffiti all over them. I cannot … smh. The food at the buffet is straight garbage, for example they had a corn salad which was actually corn in hardened jello. Gross. The food is really disgusting and it’s clear that they are cutting corners with the bs food that they offer. Also, my room wasn’t cleaned and when I called to inquire they said I needed to ask for cleaning $:$&;&;!?:$!! In what world does a resort not clean the rooms and replace towels? Also the. Alcoholic beverage are from alcohol brands I have never ever heard of so good luck drinking anything worth the stomach ache. The staff at the buffet forget your drink order and it required me to remind him several times while he admitted he forgot, so if a relaxing cup of coffee with your breakfast is a basic requirement- get ready to chase the staff down very early in the morning. The person cooking the burgers was nasty, the way she put the patties on the kids plate was downright hostile. Lastly, the patio door to this oceanfront view room was stuck and I could never get it to open. Absolutely a waste of money to get a ocean view balcony room when I couldn’t use it! I can say without any hesitation that I will never stay at any Barcelona resorts ever again and I will make sure to share this experience with friends and family.
